Chapter 2

He watched my every movement as I picked up my stuff. His eyes were burning holes into my back.

"You won't need those slutty bags of yours". He had said no to every cloth, shoe and bag I wanted taking.

"They're not slutty". I was quick to dismiss him.

" You're a doll. Everything you put on is meant to attract men. You won't be needing them in my house".

I wanted to argue with him so bad but I knew it was of no use. Like he said, I was a doll but I did have decent dressings.

I picked the last thing I needed. My locket. I put it on my neck and watched his reaction from the mirror.

"If that is the secret weapon you use in attracting men, it won't work on me".

" What's your problem with me?" I turned around to face him.

He took long strides towards me. Soon, he was in front of me. So terribly close I could feel the heat from his body. The hairs on my skin stood upright. He leaned in, his eyes not leaving mine. For a moment, I thought he was going to kiss me and my lips tingled in anticipation. Shameless little thing. To my surprise, he went to my ear instead and his breath fanned my skin, causing a fire to ignite inside of me. He was close, dangerously close and it was doing all manner of wonders to my body. I couldn't trust my body with him and I didn't trust his reaction either. I needed to get away from him but he had caged me to my dressing table, there was no escape route.

"You are a problem to me. That is my problem with you". He whispered in my ear and then slowly, withdrew, meeting my eye, before stepping backwards.

"It's time to go". He announced with a tone of finality, leaving no room for any argument.

I picked up my little bag that contained my jewelries and skin care products and followed him.

He trudged ahead of me and every soul that saw him walk pass the corridor bowed. The other dolls threw me death glares and drooled at him while the men didn't even dare look at me. Was that the amount of power he possessed?

I spotted Casey and made to go hug her but Alessandro's voice stopped me.

"Keep going". She threw me a pitiful look which I returned.

We stepped outside and there was a Lamborghini parked. Wow! Was this his ride?

"Are you going to enter the car or you want to keep gawking at my car?" I frowned.

" I know. I know. None of your clients are these wealthy ". I was furious. The nerve of him.

I went over to the back door.

"Who's your driver?" He asked coldly.

"What?" I was lost.

"Move to the front seat".

Quietly, I entered and he ignited the car, dashing into the night. I dared not speak a word to him. I didn't like him and from the looks of it, the feeling was mutual.

‘He's our mate. You're not supposed to dislike him". It was Emma, my wolf.

‘But he started it. It's not my fault. He thinks I'm just a slut, no one special. He hasn't even recognized the fact that we're mates’. I was frustrated. Emma wouldn't understand human feeling.

It was easy for the wolf of one's mate to like you but not the human. If his wolf liked us, then Emma had absolutely nothing to worry about. But what about me? If he disliked me, I have everything to worry about.

Emma had been more like my best friend over the past few years. I remember the first time we found each other. It was on my 16th birthday and I was anxious because I knew I was going to shift that night. I begged Maggie to let me off the hook for that night but she wouldn't have any of it. The highest bidder had paid good money and was willing to pay more to have me for that night. I didn't have a choice. I just hoped he was going to understand when my bones start breaking and rearranging themselves. Thankfully, he was a werewolf too and when my shift happened, he was kind and caring to me, comforting me through the whole process till I had fully transformed.

Emma was small, snow white with blue eyes. She was really beautiful.

The sound of a gate opening brought me out of my thoughts. Mr Coldie drove through the large gate. There were trees on both sides. Did he live in a forest? He kept driving till we came face to face with a giant mansion.

"Wow". I didn't realize when I had spoken.

I turned to look at him, his face was blank and void of any emotion.

Oh dear Lord!

We didn't stop in front of the house but instead drove round it. At the corner of the right side, we came face to face with an iron door. There was a guard in front of it. He pressed a button on the wall and the door lifted. We drove in and the lights came on. There were cars of different brands and models and there was a whole lot of them.

I wondered why he didn't let a driver or guard park the car but I was soon given an answer. He drove past the other cars and to the end of the garage. There was a really big space there.

"Get down". He said coldly.

"What?" Was he kicking me out? Was I gonna be living in his garage?

"I don't like repeating myself Bailey".

I got down slowly and he drove away slowly, skillfully, manoeuvring the car and parking it in a vertical manner. Once he ensured he had parked it well, he got down and locked the door. He removed a button like object from his pocket and pressed it. The floor beneath the car gave way. I gasped loudly. The car went down slowly, disappearing and then the floor came back up, returning to normal with no evidence of the car's existence.

An underground garage?

That was definitely his favorite car!

"Are you gonna follow me or do you prefer sleeping in the garage tonight?"

What was with this man? Why did he despise me for no reason?

As I followed him through a hidden door on the wall, inside the mansion, I knew I would never be free. I was meant to be owned by someone all my life and a part of me knew this was the last hand I was passing through. There was no escape from this particular owner. He was my mate after all.
