Melissa exchanged a knowing smile with Tommy. This marked the fourth time he had deliberately spilled coffee on her, attempting to provoke a reaction. However, Melissa maintained her composure, flashing her customary smile and wordlessly making her way into Sasha Arts Studio.
As an artist, Melissa's position at Sasha Arts Studio was delicate. The scales of her professional life hung in a precarious balance. Any misstep or loss of equilibrium could jeopardize the new life she had painstakingly built, something she was determined to protect.
Ignoring Tommy's antics as she had done on previous occasions, Melissa gracefully entered the ladies' room to freshen up.
Melissa Williams was an ex-convict charged with an accidental murder three years ago. After serving her time, she was now striving to embrace a new life and leave her past behind.
Emerging from the restroom, her efforts to remove the coffee stain evident, Melissa caught the sound of someone calling her name. "Melissa."
She turned to face her co-worker, Queenie Parker—an individual who seemed intent on amplifying Melissa's misery. "Queenie, hey," Melissa greeted, maintaining her composure.
"Save your small talk for someone else. The boss wants to see you now. Don't waste any more of her precious time," Queenie retorted before promptly walking away.
Melissa sighed, wondering what Sasha, her demanding boss, had in store for her this time. Sasha always seemed to make her life unnecessarily difficult. Adjusting her already stained shirt, Melissa mustered the resolve to approach Sasha's office.
Upon reaching the door, Melissa lightly tapped on it, and a voice from within beckoned her to come in. Stepping into the office, she found Sasha Phillips seated inside. Sasha, despite being in her 40s, exuded beauty. Her plump figure, round face with rosy lips, and short, curvy brown hair gave her a distinct charm. She wore a white sunflower dress.
"Melissa, my dear, thank goodness you're here," Sasha exclaimed with a warm smile.
Melissa couldn't help but think that Sasha must have something significant in store for her this time, yet she reciprocated with a smile and said, "Yes, you called for me."
"I did," Sasha began. "There's an annual Arts exhibition, and this year, my studio will be hosting it. I want you to handle everything—food, decorations, art presentations, entertainment, music, the art works."
Melissa inquired, "When is the exhibition?"
Sasha hesitated for a moment. "Well, it's on Friday evening. Ensure that everything is ready by then. Okay, dear? You may leave." Sasha returned her attention to her laptop, seemingly oblivious to the shock registered on Melissa's face.
Melissa stood there, a mix of disbelief and anxiety flooding her thoughts. How was she supposed to plan an entire event before Friday when today was already Wednesday?
"Oh, dear, I almost forgot to mention," Sasha interjected, her smile unwavering. "This isn't an ordinary event, so ensure that everything is perfect. Nothing must go wrong, or you'll be fired. I hope you understand that. Now, leave and get to work instead of standing there."
"Yes, of course," Melissa replied, nodding as if her head might detach itself from her body.
Melissa's job had once again been placed on an unsteady scale. If this exhibition didn't unfold flawlessly, she might as well bid her job farewell. Determined to meet the challenge head-on, she took a deep breath and prepared to embark on the daunting task ahead.
Mellisa and Jeremy sat together in his garden in the arms of each other. They looked so good together. It had been a while since they've been together.Mellisa had been terribly happy since she and Jeremy had be together. Everything had been moving so smoothly. It felt to good to be true. The idea of being loved once again felt so sureSurreal. She was happy yet she feared deep down that it might not end well just like her last relationship. She loved Jeremy so much and hoped it won't turn out that way."I have a suprise for you." Jeremy said as he caressed Mellisa cheeks. "Again. Jeremy you have to stop this." Melissa said with a slight frown. She hated the fact that Jeremy always bought her gifts and took her to suprise dates. Don't get her wrong she adored the gestures and loved how he made her feel special but. She guessed he thought a true relationship was built up with gifts and suprises, which it absolutely not true. She just wished he would understand. "I don't see anything
"I love you sister very much. Whether you believe it or not is up to you." Drake Lockman told Jake Sexianna brother. "You expect me to believe that you love my sister? I know you were just using her to get inside information about Mr Nobody." Jake said not believing a word Drake was saying. The man didn't look like a person worth trusting. Jake wondered how Sexianna fell for his tricks."She volunteered to all that. I didn't force her.""She said you told her that Jeremy killed your brother." "He did.""And why should I believe that?" "Believe it or not. It is the truth. And you don't have to worry, I'm not asking for your help. I'm only asking you to stay out of my way. If not for your sister I would have probably killed you for just working for that bastard. Just don't interfere in my business and you'll be fine."Jake scoffed. " I could just walk up to him and tell him everything." "Yes. You could. But your sister has already done that." Drake Lockman said with an evil smirk
Chapter 67: SchemesJack was silent. He didn't know what to say or how to respond. His sister was really asking him to pick sides. He was still so confused on how it got to this."Can you even hear yourself?" Jake asked as he walked away from Sexianna. "Your asking me to stab Mr Nobody in the back. Do you have any idea what he could do to us! What he could do to you if he finds out that you've been a traitor all this time." Jake said as he ran his hands through his hair in frustration."He can't do anymore to us not while Drake is around. I promise you'll always have his protection. You just have...""No I can't." Jake cut Sexianna off. "What your asking me to do is just to much. You have no Idea who your messing with. Sexianna I can't believe you put yourself in the middle of all this." "I was always in the middle I didn't put myself there. Just meet him maybe then you'll understand." Sexianna cried."Why did you do all this Anna. You didn't even tell all this time." Jake said sa
