ZACHARY FLYNN'S POINT OF VIEW
It was already 6:30 AM, Xairo had already gone to school, but Xincere was still sleeping in her room. Their parents got home, approximately 2:15 this morning, but went back to the office even before the sun rises earlier. He did not wake up the two. Just leaving a letter in the fridge for them. Mr. Monroe prepared food for us before they went to the office. I used to wake up early, I mean I was actually suffering from insomnia so that I was really struggling to fall asleep, it was hard for me to stay asleep, and the main reason why I wake up too early and not be able to get back to sleep. I was watching an anime series while waiting for her to wake up, but I actually finished three episodes after Xairo left, but I haven't heard anything from her room except the alarm clocks that buzzed countless times. I don't know if she was really tired or just did it on purpose to piss me off this morning. I hardly swallowed before closing my eyes and deciding to knock on her room to wake her up. We might probably be late again this morning for our 7:00 AM class.
"Why you didn't wake me up?" She was asking while putting on the necklace I handed to her last game. Her hair was flattened as it was still yet. She did not even comb her hair before she ran out of her room. She was wearing a fitted black crop-top together with her faded high-waisted ripped jeans and white sneakers.
"Let's go, we're already late." She was linking her arm around mine and pulled me outside as if I was the one who cause us to be late. She unzipped a maroon pouch as I started the engine. And as usual, she was carefully thinking about the right shade of lipstick that would be matched with her outfit.
"Zac, which one is better?" I just rolled my eyes after hearing those lines of her for the nth time.
"You're better off without it," I mumbled under my breath. But, I guess, she did not hear what I just said. She continued murmuring while putting something on her eyelid using her ring finger. I just shook my head thinking how she managed to do this every day despite the fact that we actually never attended our first class on time.
"I don't feel like attending classes today." She uttered as I stopped the car in the vast parking lot of our campus. She let me hear a voice recording sent by one of our block mates on our block's group chat. I smirked as I heard our terror professor shout, and seemed like looking for her.
"Mr. Paisley personally requesting Mr. Williams to do a specific task for the presentation of our department for this coming event, so he will be excused in my class this morning. But you, Ms. Monroe, do you really think that just having good records of exams and quizzes are enough to pass my subject?" She exclaimed, and that was enough reason to get the attention of the whole class while we were just about to enter the classroom. I gently held her elbow as I saw her about to say how sorry she was for being late for her class like she always does.
"I'm sorry, Ma'am. I just need a subject for the presentation I am currently working on. There were some changes regarding the subject and theme of the event. So I asked for Ms. Monroe's help. I just came to ask for your permission to let me excuse her in your class." I saw her deep sigh, seems like being got by my lame excuses. I saw the sudden change in her expression as she heard me explaining.
"Okay, but this is a warning for all of you. I do not want anyone to be late for my class! Is that clear?" She turned her attention back on our block mates, who were looked as if they were really focused on the discussion before we came here. She was able to send shivers down to anyone's spine just the way she looked.
Xincere also seemed intimidated by her presence. I gently held the back of her waist as she stepped back after our professor took a quick glance at us, not knowing that I was just standing too close right behind her. She abruptly stood up properly before she looked away. She linked her right arm around mine and pulled me in the direction of Mr. Paisley's office, but I grabbed the strap of her tiny backpack and led her on the other way.
"Where are we going?" She gave me an inquisitive look.
"In a place where we can't be caught," I smirked and grabbed her wrist, she just let me lead the way going up to the rooftop.
"Here is where you want to do it? By the way, what's about the presentation Mr. Paisley assigned to you?" She was running into the railings while getting her phone from the pocket of her pants at the back.
"I was just making up. I already finished it yesterday while waiting on you and Geli. It was too easy for me to take it a week, unlike what Mr. Paisley thought." I said with confidence and laughed a bit as I saw her rolling her eyes against me.
"You're too confident!" She turned her back after saying that line of hers against me. I was making me on where she was standing. I smell a familiar scent of her as her hair had been blown by the wind in my direction.
"I'm sorry." She immediately tucked her hair on the other side as she noticed that it was hitting me. She took a step or two on her left away from me.
"Then let me see the presentation. You already finished it yesterday, right? So it's not considered as a lie, let me check it." She laid her palm on me, seemed like waiting for me to give it to her.
"No need. It was just a piece of cake, Xincere! Even grade school students can do that activity. And that makes me wonder why the dean of our department needs to ask my help for those articles. Besides, I was not the right person to make it, but I guess it was a huge help for me to help you this morning." She gave me a quick smile before turning her attention back to the tall old church in front of our building department. Here was where I wrote those articles yesterday.
"Why? What does the article is all about?" She finally kept her gaze on me. I sighed and slightly shrugged before answering her question.
"It was just like one of our homework way back then when we were still in grade school, it was like a position paper." Honestly, it was not really hard for me to make an article. Since I used to make some ever since I could remember. I was actually the president of the journalism club during my high school years. The only complicated thing was the subject, it was all about love. I don't really find it so cheesy, it was that I was not too confident regarding my insights about it. Maybe it was because that was the first time I wrote about it.
"I don't doubt, since nothing really difficult when it comes from you." I did not know if she really mean it since I saw her smirking before looking away.
"Is that the new way of insulting me?" I smiled before slightly shaking my head.
"Of course not, that was a compliment. You know what, whenever you're around, I felt like everything is possible. It seems like everything is just so simple. Maybe because you master the act of lying, tricking other people, and keeping it all naturally with your natural facial expression." I laughed before locking her head around my arms and messing up her hair hardly.
"How it becomes a compliment when you actually judge me the hard way? I was just protecting you. You must be grateful." She hardly hit me as she was trying to escape from my grip.
"If protecting me cause you trouble, just let me suffer and bear with my own punishment." She became serious as she looked directly at me and raised her brows as if waiting for me to agree with what she just said. But did not do as she wanted.
"But I bet you would prefer to have me suffer and shared with your punishment. I guess it sounds exciting somehow." I may not be as kind as others were to her, but I never wanted to see her struggling alone. At first, I thought it was because she was too weak and fragile, that she needs me to protect her and I found that thought so hassle. But as time passed by, I began to realize that she was probably one of the persons I must protect at all costs, as Dad always told me that, I should always choose to protect all those people I valued the most.
"Why are you so sweet to me now? Want me to cook again for our dinner?" I saw how the corner of her eyes wrinkled as she smiled as she teased me. I just smirked and grimaced before looking away.
"I thought you didn't want me to sleep at your house? Is that an invitation, isn't it?" I gave her a wry smile and raised my brows, trying to piss her off. And I bet I succeeded after seeing her side glances full of disgust before rolling her eyes out of irritation.
"By the way, by any chance, are you familiar with this mobile number?" She handed me her phone. I took a quick glance at her after seeing an unknown number from her inbox. I got my phone and tried to find if it was one of my contact lists.
"Whom did you give your number to? Did you put your mobile number on the organization where you signed up the last day?" I furrowed as she grabbed it back against me as she realized that I may read something on it that I should not.
"Of course not. At first, I thought it was just a wrong number, but I guess she knew me. Do you think it was one of your crazy admirers? She even mentioned your name in some text messages I have received last day." She asked as she was scrolling from her inbox. I even saw some unknown numbers that sent her messages, but it was a good thing that she did not reply to it.
"Let me have it again?" I laid my hand on her. But it took her a moment and looked at it as if thinking if she will give it to me before shifting back her gaze to me. I even saw a sudden change in her expression as that somehow convinced me that she was really hiding something from me as she held tightly on her phone and seemed like she was about to put it back in her pocket for me to not get it from her. I just remember how always answered a lot of unknown numbers that called her back then, which made her pissed off.
"No need, Zac. I just asked you if it is your girlfriend, of course, I don't want to be rude. Just inform me if there was a pathetic one, okay?" I just smiled and snorted before I ran my finger through my hair.
"Just change your number and stop giving your number to anyone." I just remember how she gave her number to a junior girl who was eating alone in the cafeteria as if offering a shoulder to cry on. I hate seeing her too friendly, most of the time that was to cause her trouble. I took off the strap of my backpack on my left shoulder and dug to get the letter I got from her. Actually, I know that it was from Louis Gan Gill. The junior guy from our department who just join the varsity. I saw him that day near her locker. I badly wanted to throw it, but I guess she must have it.
"Here." I handed it to her, but she just looked at it before she smiled. But not like what I expected, she did not even take it from me.
"Just throw it. I don't wanna read another threatening letter. I just read one this morning." She gave me a crooked grin. I just sighed as I remember how I found out she used to receive a lot of hateful messages because of me when she forgot to log out her account on my laptop and I accidentally saw a lot of threatening messages.
"Then let me just read it for you." I was watching her reaction as I pretended to open it. She abruptly took it away from me.
"Are you sure, you did not read it?" She smelled it before she clips it in between the pages of her book where she left her bookmark. I just hissed as she turned back her gaze to me.
"I just remember why your shirt looked so familiar, that was the same brand that was wearing by my new crush on the latest fashion magazine that was issued for this month." It made me look at my army green shirt that has tiny Hebrew characters printed on it. It was actually from my Mom. She bought it for me last week when she had her shopping with Mrs. Monroe.
We failed to notice how time goes by quickly while talking about nonsense topics that were really insignificant. We spent almost two hours there, waiting for our next class. Then she was abruptly linking her arms around mine and I just smiled while letting her pull me downstairs, seven minutes before our time for the next class, looked like she really didn't want to be late for our class again.
Thank you for keep on supporting,"It's Going to be You." Have a blessed day ahead, everyone!
XINCERE CALLIOPE'S POINT OF VIEW I was walking to my locker room to put the books I used in my last class. Zac had his meeting with the whole varsity team together with Nathaniel. As I open my locker, I saw another faded blue envelope that was really similar to the last letter I got received. I looked at the back of it and found the same initials on it, 'L.G.' I clipped it together with the last letter that Zac gave me earlier. Actually, I knew that he did not throw it before as I saw it in his bag the last day I opened it, but I just waited for him to give it back. "I heard that like Pepperoni Pasta, so I made this for you." I heard a familiar feminine tone of voice as if trying to change her natural husky tone of voice into a tiny one, you know, annoying! I may sound so bitter, but I know, anyone who may hear her wil
ZACHARY FLYNN'S POINT OF VIEW "Bro, what's the deal? Are you guys okay now? " Nate asked while starting to buckle his belt as he stepped out from my bathroom. "I don't really understand her, Man." I shook my head as I pulled my shirt over my head. It had been a week since the last time I could talk to her properly, It got me curious how does that girl tell her when she answered Xincere's call, for her to be this cold. - "Bro, why are you late? Hope you have done with your warm-ups while you were making your way here." Nate uttered while I was barely breathing as I reached the gymnasium. "I guess you know the drill!" I heard an authoritative tone of voice that made us turn
XINCERE CALLIOPE'S POINT OF VIEW I was not able to sleep that night, I did not know if I was just too irritated or what, but I was literally awake that entire night. Early that morning, after checking my phone that was in silent mode, I saw a lot of missed calls and messages from my grandma. It was just 4:30 AM and I began to dial her number, I was a bit nervous as I heard the buzzing from the other line while waiting for her to pick it up. "Hello, Xincere! Sorry to wake up this early, I just wanna hear your voice. Tell your dad to come over here during weekends and take time to rest. Your mom always calls me every night and tells me how busy they are. I asked Mr. Robert to deliver the newly reap fruits and vegetables from our farm here, it seems like you guys already forget to visit me and your grandpa even just once
ZACHARY FLYNN'S POINT OF VIEW "Guys, we are with the tourism department. Since everyone we want everyone to enjoy and to keep everything organized, we have decided to divide the different departments. Two departments per batch and in that way, we can easily monitor the number of students before we went back. And just want to inform you, class, Mr. Paisley suggested us to be with the Tourism department. I am hoping that everyone is okay with that idea. You are not in grade school, so class, I know that every one of you will act your age, right?" Everyone was forced to agree with Miss Moore since I could see how everyone was excited as their own cameras were already hanging on them, seemed like they were ready to capture a lot of photos inside the museum. I was beside Xincere the whole trip since we were too late to reach the first bus where Geli was. She sulked the who
XINCERE CALLIOPE'S POINT OF VIEW "Uhm, Xincere, can you please take us a picture?" I just smirked as I heard a flirty tone of Beatrix as she wrapped her arm around Zachary's. On the corner of my eyes, I could see that his gaze was nailed on me as if observing my reaction, but I did not look directly at his eyes. I even saw how he hardly closed his eyes and let out a deep breath as I tried to fake a smile. "Sure. No problem. Where's the camera?" He did not take off his eyes on me, and I knew that by this time, he already knew that I was trying hard to fake a smile just by dealing with his other persistent admirer, the craziest one among them. My eyes were nailed on her while she was still wearing the fake smile she was on from the moment Beatrix came over. She laid her hand as she was waiting for the camera.
ZACHARY FLYNN'S POINT OF VIEW Nate immediately threw his arm on my shoulder as I was about to push the glass door of a large room that was containing a variety of exercise equipment, such as bikes and running machines. As we entered, Nate was laughing so hard as we saw Justice, who looked like working out for more than an hour just by seeing how his sweat dripped from his face. "What's the real deal, man?" He just took a glance at us, shaking his head as if he had a serious problem that seemed hard to be resolved. This gym was owned by Nate's uncle, so we used to enjoy a 25% discount on every offer we wanted to avail ourselves of. And since it was acquainted and a well-acclaimed one, there were lots of people who wanted to enroll here. It was actually located not far fr
XINCERE CALLIOPE'S POINT OF VIEW "Xincere, is it true that we will have a double date? Justice keeps on nagging me, and he told me that I should not be worried since you guys will come with us. Is that true?" It was a Saturday afternoon when I received a call from Geli, and upon hearing her voice, I could imagine how excited she was. Justice probably asked Zac to invite me this weekend so that Geli would come. I knew that it was nothing different of us sharing at one table, eating in the cafeteria. I felt something odd as Geli called it a double date, it sounded so cringed. My original plan for this morning was to read the book I just bought last Monday, but after the day Zac had invited me, I did not think I could read it, I mean, I could not even think properly. I hated it when his voice, his line, lingered in my mind. We used to eat in different restaurants before,
ZACHARY FLYNN'S POINT OF VIEW I looked back and forth at the shoes that were on my shoe rack. I just realized that this was the first time I struggle with choosing the right one to wear. I hissed and abruptly got the white sneakers given by my mom last Christmas, trying to shake off my stup*d train of thoughts about which shoes I should tonight. "Bro let just meet there. We will wait for you." I could hear how happy Justice was that Geli was finally coming with him for a date after what had happened. I grinned, shaking my head as I heard the excitement laced in his voice, like a kid who was about to go to a gigantic zoo during their field trip. I took a glance at my wristwatch at saw that it was already 5:00 PM. And it caused me to hastily got my put on my hoodie and run to our garage. I got my phone as I heard a famil
XINCERE CALLIOPE'S POINT OF VIEWS "It is you again, crying over the same man. Do you want me to punch him a big-time?" I looked in the direction of someone who had just spoken, but I could barely hear him since my vision was too blurry as my eyes began to well with tears as I try hard to hold them back. I was kneeling again in the same chapel where I used to go. I abruptly sniffed and wiped my nose and tears on the back of my hand, and suddenly realized that my handkerchief was too wet now that I could actually squeeze it because of tears. "Louis?" He smiled before offering his handkerchief to me. I burst into crying as I saw how he managed to give me the same and genuine smile he gave me from the last time I saw him. "What's the problem? Did I say anything wrong? I am
ZACHARY FLYNN'S POINT OF VIEW "Bro, have you seen "this"?" Justice handed me his phone and I saw some pictures of me with Beatrix. I ran my fingers over my hair and tightly closed my eyes out of frustration, knowing that Xincere might probably see it already as those pictures were uploaded on the official webpage of the university. I furrowed my eyebrows as wondering how they made those photos as if we were just the two of us who were eating together, as I remember it was the night when we won on our first game, all the coaches decided to treat us for lunch. Beatrix had shared a table with us, she seated me beside me, but after I answered the call of my Mom I decided to seat beside our coach since I saw how my teammates together with some of the volleyball players had a good time. They were too noisy. I even saw some shots of pictures when she was just giving me a bot
XINCERE CALLIOPE'S POINT OF VIEW The buzzing sound of my alarm clock was gradually awoken me this morning, I used to have alarm clocks that served as a wake-up call, those were given by Zac, probably because he was hoping that he would not need to wait for me for that long. My gaze was shifted on the neutral color blinds of my room that made me barely see the sunlight while squinted. I turned off my warm white lampshade that was on my side table before gently rubbing my eyes while stretching out my arms. I uttered a short prayer before reading the Bible that was a gift by my Mom, and I was properly seated down on my bed while still yawning. I went straight in the direction of my window and put up the binds, and I was amazed how the sunshine through my windows. Looking at the direction of my comfort room, made me want t
ZACHARY FLYNN'S POINT OF VIEW It was my fourth repetition in doing a hundred push-ups. Xincere once asked me if why I must do intense workouts though, I already achieved what I want. Xincere did not want someone with too much bulky muscle, so I just maintain my just-enough abs and biceps. Since I used to play basketball, one and a half-hour was enough for a workout once a day. "Man, we will be having our game next week against the Engineering department," Justice uttered while lifting up the 30 pounds on his both hands. I felt the dry towel on my shoulder that was casually thrown by Nate, who was on the treadmill. I sat as I was catching my breath. There were lots of some dudes who tapped my shoulder as they passed by where I was seating. I nodded my head in acknowledgment. I was checking my phone expecting a text mess
XINCERE CALLIOPE'S POINT OF VIEW "So, what did you say?" Mom and Geli were carefully listening and seemed like waiting for me for my answer. I deeply sighed and suddenly regret that I had told them about it. "I told me that he did not pressure me to give my answer right away. So I thought I should not say anything. And besides, it's his fault, I mean, I did not know that he will confess that suddenly, and it was not as romantic as the drama series I am watching, I did not even feel something but irritation as he calls me stupid. Stop asking Mom and Geli. It was not worth our time." I just closed my eyes and just relaxing while I was having our facial treatment in the clinic owned by Geli's mom. Since Auntie is a dermatologist, I used we used to have a discount facial treatment here, and I used to tell Geli that I like taking advantage of being her best friend. The three of us used to come here together when our schedules permit us to d
ZACHARY FLYNN'S POINT OF VIEW "You'll go with me later, right?" I just rolled my eyes as I saw her thinking as if she had already forgotten about it. But she laughed a bit before shaking my arms. "Of course. I just thought that you just want me to treat you since it is your birthday. But since we have already eaten our dinner, you probably rescheduled it. But if you still want to go out, then I'll go as I promised. By the way, where we will go later?" It was a good thing that his brother called me. I just patted her head before going walked closer to Xairo. "Bro, I just want you to know about this from me, I already asked your dad about it, tonight, I will confess to her." I could not see his reaction as he was now sitting on my sofa while playing my Rubik's cube.
XINCERE CALLIOPE'S POINT OF VIEW It's been a long time since the last time I came to their house. I suddenly noticed the lavish interior in their house, Zac once told me that it was inspired by his Dad's first layout during his college years as an architecture student. Actually, my Dad and uncle were both studying architecture before they decided to put up their business, like Zac and I, they were also attending the same courses and graduated in the same years, and no doubt why they were too closed like brothers. The artwork hanging on the right corner of their white painted wall was one of the art pieces made by his grandmother before she died. And what I found so cool about their house was the built-in security features on it that have a luxury touch in the entire house. I also got by the modern interior design that contributed a lot with the spacious look and cozy
ZACHARY FLYNN'S POINT OF VIEW "I will just take a shower quickly, just give me a moment." I was about to run going to my locker room when she held my wrist to stop me. I turned my gaze on her, who was now wearing her brother's white cap. "Just do it at home. Let's go." I just let her pull me until we got to the vast parking lot where I used to leave my car. She was barely breathing as she faced me. I noticed that she looked so jaded with her round eyes and looked as if she woke up too early this morning, but I just snorted as I realized that she was the main reason why we arrived late at the university earlier. "Why in a hurry? Don't tell me you are too excited for tonight?" I smirked and gave him smug looks. She grimaced before running to get into the passenger seat. S
XINCERE CALLIOPE'S POINT OF VIEW "Hello, Auntie! How are you?" I received a call from Zachary's mom. I used to talk with her, just like how I was closed to my mom. I did not know why I was so comfortable talking with her. Probably because I saw a lot of similarities between her and my mom. They were so pure and used to be so sweet. "We're good here and actually, we are about to have our flight tonight and I just want to ask for your help tomorrow." I smiled as I realized that she was probably planning to have a surprise birthday celebration for Zac. After talking to her, I just found out that she already talked about it with my parents as well as with Xairo. I hastily went to Mom and asked her if we would go to their house tomorrow like what Auntie had told me. "Yeah, w
