“You need to come home before dinner. Dad finally convinced Mom to get another checkup regarding her health. We'll need to be around in case it's necessary. I have a feeling we will.” I read Zach's text, pulling my eyebrows together.

After Rihanna told me what she observed, I made sure to inform Savia and Zachary. Savia was able to pull the truth out of her mouth. Mom was sick and she wanted to hide it. She claimed that it wasn't serious but we all knew that if she didn't fear that it was serious, she wouldn't have hidden it. It only meant one thing. She had already gone for the test and nothing was found wrong with her health but it kept deteriorating so she feared the worst.

That alone was enough to make anxiety eat into us.
