MADALINA

That night after we visited the wolves' village, I had the most unusual dream. The dream felt so alive, as if it was all real.

The steady pound of my footsteps echoed into my ears. The platinum blond ponytail rose behind me as Iran. Faster and faster. My mind was frantic with thoughts, and I wondered how it was even possible to move this fast? I was like the speed of light, quickening my pace with every other pump into my limbs. Cold wind whipped my face, coloring the cheeks red and lips blue. Little clouds kept rising from my mouth with every exhale. Damn, it was freezing. Yet I felt a hot line of sweat rolling down my forehead and splattering on my chin.

The ground blurred below me and I nearly tripped. Stinging pain filled my lungs as I was running short of breath. Though I knew I couldn't stop. What would happen to me if I stopped? My hearing sharpened when catching the thumping of paws behind me. They created a rhythmic sound, like a rare music in the
