SAIGE’S POV

The house was quiet when I entered; I was thankful that I could go to my room without being seen. But, I wasn’t so lucky when I heard some shuffling from the kitchen.

“Mom?” I called out, waiting for a reply. Her head popped out from around the corner as she glared at me, her eyes going down to my “hurt” ankle but she didn’t comment on it.

“What are you doing home so early? I don’t normally see you until after the sun has gone down.” She sounded annoyed that I was home.

“I got hurt at practice. TJ brought me home.” I walked into the kitchen, noticing that my mom was wearing her silk robe which only meant one thing. “Who’s the douche bag you brought home this time?”

“None of your business,” she snapped.

I rolled my eyes at her. “Whatever. I’m going to my room.”

After leaving the kitchen, I headed down the hallway to my room but before I could make it unseen, my mom’s bedroom door opened. A guy who looked closer to my age stood there staring at me with desirous eyes.

“Hey,” he rasped out, dragging from his cigarette, “Marcelle didn’t tell me she had a younger sister.”

Gross. And my mom told him her name was Marcelle? I bit back a laugh, knowing she only used that name on dudes she never planned on calling again.

I rolled my eyes at him and tried to get around him as he was blocking my way to my bedroom. But, I wasn’t so lucky. He wasn’t budging and ended up trapping me between him and the wall. His breath smelled like stale beer and cigarettes, making me nauseous.

“I wasn’t expecting to have a threesome when I came here today, but I’m not turning it down,” he breathed against my neck at the same time I felt his hand slide up my bare leg and disappear under my uniform’s skirt.

Every hair stood up on my body as fear and anger gripped my stomach. Who the hell does this guy think he is?

“Stop it,” I hissed out, but that only made him chuckle and grip the back of my thigh tighter.

I pushed against the wall and ended up shoving him into the wall behind us. His hands gripped my hips as he buried his face into my neck.

“What the hell, Saige?!”

My head whipped in the direction my mom’s voice came from and I saw her staring at me with an evil glare. This looked bad, I knew it, but she has no idea what she’s actually looking at right now.

“Can I ever bring home a guy that you don’t want?” She barked out, crossing her arms over her shoulder.

“Yeah, all of them,” I replied, shoving away from the perv behind me. “Maybe if you brought home a guy that didn’t try to pin me against the wall and shove his hand up my skirt...”

She cut me off. “I don’t want to hear it, Saige. I’m so sick of this shit. Why don’t you just go into your room and do whatever it was that you were going to do? Or, better yet- why don’t you just leave?”

“With pleasure,” I replied sharply. I finally made my way into my room and slammed the door shut behind me.

I wanted out of here just as badly as she wanted me out of here. Even though I was eighteen and I could leave whenever I wanted to, I had nowhere to go and no money to survive.

After I changed out of my uniform and into tight jeans, a belly shirt, and a cute jacket, I crawled out of my window and took off. TJ’s party wasn’t for a while, but walking around aimlessly was much better than being home right now.

COLLIN’S POV

After TJ helped Saige out of the locker room, I just stood there in shock. I kept thinking about her foot rubbing against my inner thigh and how it had actually turned me on. I shouldn’t be having thoughts like this about a student, though. My mind was scolding me for my aroused thoughts, but then I remembered her spread legs and how those sexy little black lace panties greeted me.

“Fuck,” I cursed out, running my hands over my face.

This is the kind of shit that’s going to get me into trouble and fired. Get your shit together, Collin! I thought.

I spun around and headed back onto the field, needing to focus my mind elsewhere before I drove myself crazy.

“Coach, did you get her taken care of?” The head coach, Briggs, asked me as I stepped up next to him.

I couldn’t help the dirty thoughts that went through my head with his question. Neither of us was taken care of. Shit! Stop it!

“Yes. TJ brought her home.” I took a deep breath and stared straight ahead.

I could feel Briggs staring a hole into the side of my head before he looked out at the field. “I really feel sorry for that girl. She’s had a pretty tough go at life so far,” he sighed out.

This piqued my interest immediately. “How so?”

He shook his head. “Her old man died in an accident when she turned ten. It was all the town could talk about. It was her birthday party and of course, the adults had been drinking. They had forgotten her birthday cake so her dad headed back into town to pick one up when he swerved right into a truck, hitting him head-on.

Her dad died instantly and the trucker sustained minor injuries. Her mom went a bit crazy after that and ended up staying in a mental facility for about a month.” He paused and shook his head. “That poor girl really hasn’t had a chance with a mother like that. She’s always on something, drinking, and bringing strange men home.” He nodded toward the field. “That’s my son there, Michael. He dated Saige last year for a short period of time and the horror stories he’s told me about her home-life is enough to make you shudder.”

My heart was pounding in my chest. I had no idea; her story was much darker than I had ever imagined. It made a bit of sense now though, why she was the way that she was. When you’re forced to live a life like that, it all becomes normal. Poor girl.

“The little bitch cheated on my son, though. He walked in on her sleeping with his best friend. The girl is just like her mother now and it’s sad really.” Briggs shook his head and I actually felt a little pissed off that he just called her a little bitch.

I didn’t find it fair that he judged her so harshly instead of trying to help the girl. It was clear that she was acting out to get someone’s attention. She had a giant “HELP ME” sign right on her forehead and people were just ignoring it, calling her a little bitch and probably a little slut. Didn’t anyone care? Maybe I shouldn’t have, but I did.

“Can’t the state do anything to help her? I mean, she’s a minor for crying out loud.” I was trying to think of ways to get her help without my full involvement, but Briggs just shook his head.

“The girl is eighteen so the state won’t help her.”

Eighteen. Fuck me. I really hadn’t wanted to hear that. Part of me hoped that she was still a minor so I could have kept telling myself to stay away from her. But, she was technically an adult. Shit!

Briggs slapped my back. “Enough about that little harlot. By the way, I saw the way she was looking at you. Steer clear of her, Collin. She’s trouble with a capital T. I like you by my side on the field and don’t need you getting fired because you want to get your dick wet. There’s plenty of female teachers willing to keep your bed warm at night.” He laughed with a wink in my direction. “Hey- speaking of night, can you swing by TJ’s party tonight? The boys seem to like you and I want to make sure they’re being smart. They won’t like an old fart like me showing up, but you’re a young guy that can sneak in unnoticed.”

My brows furrowed together. This fucking guy was confusing as hell. His conversations jumped from one subject to the next, making my head spin. And a party?! Why the hell would I want to show up at a high school party?

“I’m counting on you to keep the boys in line,” Briggs said before he stepped away from me.

Jesus Christ. What had I gotten myself into?
