I parted ways with Otto and the rest of the mine workers as soon as we spread throughout the village. What my eyes witnessed wasn't a fair fight. Obviously, these vampires were trained in combat. They were equipped with various weapons, most of them specifically designed to kill werewolves. Unfortunately, they were also succeeding, executing anyone who dared stand in their way. There were just a few vampire soldiers with loaded guns, which Remy and I assessed as the major problem.

Running fast in Remy's form, I targeted the first shooter. Before he could spot me, his head was already rolling on the ground, separated from the body. When I killed the second and third shooters, the rest of them noticed the pattern. Mostly because the size of my wolf and his fighting techniques couldn't really go undetected. The vampires quickly figured that Remy wasn't just a random lone wolf and, with startled looks, they pointed their guns at his black coat.
