Daniel went to check on his other patient that the nurse paged him for. It wasn't something serious so he finished quickly. he kept thinking about his own problem as his family will get together at that Thanksgiving dinner. He didn't want to go. It wasn't because he hated them, he loved them all but they are harsh on him and he knows they are looking out for him but he always felt like he was restrained. Even when he wanted to pursue his dreams his father cut him off the family cause he felt ashamed cause his dream wasn't what he had planned for him.

He met up with Dennis and gave him a piece of his mind. It was his only option

"I will go to the thanks giving dinner alone " Daniel told him 

"haha nice one" Dennis thought that he was joking as this was impossible. If he goes alone he would be the topic of the whole dinner and that would be worse than getting killed.

"...."  Daniel stared at Dennis to tell him that it's not a joke. Dennis caught on.

"shit , you are serious . are you kidding me ? you know the consequences right?" Dennis was now worried about his friend. 

" I can't think of anything else .after all they are my parents .they can't do anything too serious" Daniel said with a pained smile.

"yeah you said the same thing when you wanted to be a doctor and not continue ruling the family business .you were lucky you had a younger brother who was willing to take over .remember that day" Dennis reminded him of the day when he was cut off the family. His father was so angry that no one dared to tell him to think about what he had done only Daniel's grandfather was the one who stood up for him. He gave him a good proposal.

"yeah I was cut off from my inheritance .they came around after I became a well known doctor and own the hospital I work for and that was only because of Gramps. He was the one who proposed that if I excel in being a doctor rather than being a dancer and make my own business then I would return to the family. Now they want a heiress as if I am a king or something. I know they want to rest assured that the family's legacy will continue but I am still here and I still have dreams." Daniel looked at Dennis and found him staring at his phone. Dennis looked at him 

"sucks to be you man ..aw come on I am stating the truth .wait ." Daniel punched Dennis on his shoulder. But Dennis found a solution 

"what,...." Daniel looked curious

"hire someone who could act like your girlfriend"

"are you really my friend!!!"

"what?"

" they want a heiress of a high class like rich , well educated and beautiful and they do a background check on everyone I meet , they could even be checking on all my patient's background so yeah it is decided ,I am going alone I won't care "

"I will visit your grave man everyday ...owwwww come on " Daniel punched him again.

"you deserve that punch a**" 

"oh my phone is ringing see you later "

Dennis left Daniel alone in the hallway. He started to remember the Thanksgiving dinner six years ago.

The 18 year old Daniel just. Finished his dance class and headed to his closet to wear the tuxedo prepared by his mother to attend the Thanksgiving dinner. At that time he was so afraid of this specific gathering cause he was going to announce something big. His driver sent him a message telling him he arrived. He went to the driver and sat at the back of the Ferrari.

After a while he reached his family mansion and entered. The first person he saw was his grandpa. His grandpa knew what he was about to do today and he gave him his support.

" Hey child, just do it and don't care about anything else. I have three children and I consider you my fourth." His grandfather was referring to Mavis his youngest daughter , Daniel's father Andrew, his eldest son and link his younger son. His relationship between his children were good. But he preferred his relationship with his grandson Daniel as he favoured him the most.

" Come on Gramps no you are making me so old. I still have lots to do . Be sure to stick around " Daniel teased his grandpa as their relationship was built on them teasing each other. Daniel respected his grandfather alot. They both entered the dining room where everyone was seated. Daniel seated his grandfather and went to his seat next to his brother.

After the dinner ended Daniel stood up to gather everyone's attention. 

"I don't  plan on pursuing dancing or the family business. I plan on being a doctor "

Everyone was shocked upon hearing the news. His father's face looked like it was steaming. He started to threaten Daniel.

" If you dare do that . I will cut you from this family." He said while intentionally breaking a plate.

" Daniel expected that this would happen so he left the room and headed outside. Some people admired his courage like his brother. Others were happy as they thought of him as a threat. But Daniel didn't care about anyone. He felt happy as this was his first step to achieving his dreams.

At the dining room. 

" I have a proposal Andrew. " Gramps said to his son.

" So you knew that he would do that and you didn't bother to tell me. ?? "

" I thought you would be able to handle it on your own. As I did to you but you were an idiot. So here is what will happen. He won't come near this house and he will get cut off from his inheritance untill he becomes a world best doctor and make his own business. You. Wanted him to help you with the business and become a world best dancer. So it's going to be the same but a different career. And I didn't ask for your opinion. After all I am still the eldest. " He reminded his son that he was the one who made this business and he was also the one who made him rule it.

" Understood " one word and the topic ended and they started talking about the other son and how he would take over the business and that he shouldn't follow his brother's footsteps.
