My eyes fluttered open as I heard some voices, it sounded distant and incorrigible at first, but it gradually became more clear and audible. My eyes sting for a second, and I shut them instinctively. Arthur made sure the room was dark, in case I forgot to put on my glasses.

I opened them when I was certain that it was safe to, I opened my eyes to see two strange faces hovering above me.

“She's awake!” The female squealed.

Her high pitch made my eardrums hurt, and my hands flew to my ears to protect my precious babies. I wanted to complain and ask who she was when it hit me that I recognized her voice.

“Anna?” I asked in disbelief.

“Did you hear that, Kelvin? She recognizes me.” She said excitedly.
