Esma’s pov
Present time…
“Then?” I asked when he finally stopped talking. We returned to his room. I was sure August needed the privacy with Diana after the little incident. He was more concerned for her safety than for me. I don’t blame him for that. She is his mate.
Also, I didn’t want to leave Reed especially when after so much efforts he was finally talking to me. the thick shell he surround himself in was finally cracking.
He was sitting on the edge of the bed looking at the sidelamp busy in his own mind. I didn’t want to push him, everything he told since now was impossible to believe if I haven’t seen most of it in the visions already. I have seen the pain; I have seen his sufferings. I have seen his powers and his vengeance.
“I confronted Jean. Her name was Moona, she was the moon goddess, can you believe my luck? then I tried to meet Alpha Andrew and when I saw his face, there I feel it, there was so

Reed’s pov “Why are you here? I don’t need a counsellor.” I sighed deeply, getting annoyed for not having some personal time alone for myself. I don’t want to talk to anyone. “I know you don’t.” Diana stopped and sit right next to me on the ground. I look at her from the corner of the eye. None of us said anything. the silence was deafening. But… somehow, I liked it. with Diana I couldn’t care less about being judged. She had already seen me at my worst. But with Esma, I can’t tell. I feel her getting intimidated, scared even terrified through the mate bond. on the top of that, I can’t deal with the pity she had in her eyes. “Where’s your mate?” I asked finally when I was sure she won’t talk first. Diana is complete opposite from what she looked. She looked simple and sweet but she had shades. maybe this was the only thing we had in common. Maybe that’s why we can understand each other so better. She is like a sister I never ha
Esma’s pov “Hello?” I hollered in the darkness. “Is anyone there?” I called out again but didn’t get the answer either this time. I don’t know where I was standing. Hell, I don’t even know how I came here at the first place. It was darkness everywhere. I looked around for something. Anything. As if in cue, a light dimmed yet bright enough to catch my attention come from the farther most corner. I walked in the same direction, stumbling and tripping, I finally reached the light. I felt rejoiced as I made a move to touched the light but it vanished in front of me like a mist. I groaned as I was again left in darkness. “This is what you get when you’ll make a decision to be with him.” I finally heard a strange voice which didn’t belong to my head. I tried to comprehend, trying to locate the source but to no avail. I felt like my legs were frozen at their spot. I heard the same voice again but this
Thank God I packed extra clothes in case our meeting extended. I quickly picked out a white dress shirt and denim jeans. My last dress was already ruined when Reed took me in the woods. I bit my lip as the flashes of us fucking across the lake passed in front of my eyes. I don’t want this shirt to get messy. It is one of my favourites. I already changed two dresses for a day. I quickly get undressed and wore the shirt and the jeans before facing in the mirror. Oh, my hairs look like an angry bird’s nest. I was like this in front of him? I shake my head; this is no time for embarrassment. I braided my hairs in no time before sprinting downstairs. I was excited like a teenage girl who was first time going with his boyfriend on a date. Although, I already gone on a date with Reed before. I stopped abruptly at the final stair when I neither find the car nor him. I looked around and in mere seconds Reed swiftly drove the car in front of me and opened the door. I smiled and get myself i
Light fills the room, coaxing me from deep sleep to wakefulness. I stretch out and open my eyes before walking near to look through the window. It’s a beautiful morning, the sun was peeking up through the clouds. It was indeed a view. The bed was empty much to my dismay. Reed was already long gone, his scent was fading, he didn’t wake me before leaving. The thought make me sad for a minute. Yesterday was so much fun. We talked and talked till the manager of the restaurant himself came to tell us that it was too late and he had to shut the bar. I came to know so much about him. His favourite things, how he despised coffee, which I would like to change his opinion on. How he love to read, his love for literature, which I can already guess from the giant library he had back in the castle. He had a huge collections of charlotte Brontë, Virginia wolf and of course Jane Austin. Alpha Reed Xander is a mercurial man but with astonishing talents. Still one thin
“Emmy?” I heard him calling me again. I shut the book hurriedly. fuck if he saw the book, he won’t sit without getting a perfect excuse from me to have this book. he is much more stubborn than me when it comes to find something he suspects fishy. “I know you are inside. I can feel your presence duh.” He said lamely getting bored from the other side of the door. I put the book back in the bag and slide it under the bed back to its position. I sighed and open the door to find him standing in front of me, checking the bag, the delivery guy left on my door, drinking from my coffee. my breakfast! “Why were you taking so time to open the door?” he asked entering in the room, not bothering to look in my direction. He sit on the bed and empty the bag slowly, putting all the items out. I snatched my cup from his hand. “That’s mine and this too. Order your own food.” I gro
Reed’s pov “We have arrived Alpha.” Asher announced when we entered our territory. Our cars drove past the gates, crossing the new houses Derek’s pack settled in. I held my gaze outside, looking at everything, observing the new houses which were still in progress. Derek and I make a pact, I offered him some part of my land for his pack to settle. Also, he wanted to expand his business to the states. I wanted to ensure my pack’s safety. It was a win-win offer for both of us. My pack was already established across the world thanks to Diana. Diana have connections across the world and with her magic our pack have to change its place in every fifteen days with the moon ensuring my people’s safety. It is hefty as whole of our pack have to shift its position and but after a while all of my people get a nag of it. on the top of that they found it amusing to sight see other different pla
Esma’s pov August and Diana had already left the motel, leaving me and other remaining alphas. I stand and stared at the gate, August’s car leaving the Noman’s land, disappearing before my eyes. I don’t know why but for some reason, I was now regretting my decision of staying here. I could go with them and Diana could easily open the portal for me, but then I promised Reed I will wait for him. plus, there are other alphas here. Someone had to be here, it is not the right time to get selfish and think about ourselves. I sighed and turned back heading to my room. it was noon now but the sun was covered by the clouds, maybe it would rain. I missed rain. As if in cue the hair on my skin prickled with the uneasy feeling. My wolf as if sensing danger straightened her sense, I didn’t turn back and continued walking straight. I could feel someone was following me but I couldn’t smell any scent.
My heart thundered like a wild cat inside my ribcage. This book is definitely bounded by magic or some other shit. This looks old, hell ancient and how did I get my hands on it at the first place? No librarian would give me that older book to the new comer like me even if I am an alpha. Now that I think back, the man who gave me the book was new. He didn’t know much about the rules and conduct about the library. Maybe it’s just coincidence. I shake my heads to get rid of all the unnecessary thoughts. Maybe Diana must have done something. A protection spell or something, she already saw the book back in my room and I bet she definitely read the title back then. I resumed from the same page I folded before I was interrupted by August. The words here were more indistinct, I tried to read several times but didn’t succeed. I turned the pages and started reading whatever I could understand. When Selene refused Ze
Esma’s pov“Are you talking about that boat?” I pointed towards the big boat which was still getting filled. The man nodded and I smirked.“Let’s go then.”4 hours later“Fasten it slowly!”“Alright tie it now.”“Good job! We have to wake up earlier tomorrow to move our luggage to the remaining ship, so go ahead and get some sleep.”I heard the voices of the bandits across the room.“Hey you dumbasses, can’t you be quiet? The leader is sleeping right now.” I heard one of the man shouting at the crowd and it didn’t take me a hint to understand that he was above them.I turned to look at August who was also hearing whatever was going on outside.“How long has it been since we infiltrated this place?” August asked quietly and looked at both of us.“I think about four hours have passed. It has gotten quiet and I can’t feel any more presence.” I said.“I guess we can go out now.” three of us on our toes, walked out of the room, it was supposed to be a store room and we infiltrated this pla
The place they told us about was a bit far from where we guessed. Neither we have anyone other than Dumeny to be our guide nor someone we could rely on. We were on a rescue mission.Including many people will only risk leaking out the information. After a long day of walking, the houses could be seen and we sighed in relief. Houses means establishment, which means there will be people nearby.“The river is really splitting.”“These are only a band of mountains located on the side of the river. Its this way.” Dumeny said as we walked down the hill.As soon as we crossed the road I know what they meant by ‘at the side of the river’. There were two three boats on the river and there were more houses than we saw on our way to here.“That must be the place.” I said and August and Dumeny stood beside me.“Hah… only after crossing the mountains can I barely see it. no wonder it’s so hard to find them.”“I can see many watch towers.” I said scanning the whole place. Now that we have located t
Esma’s povHis head rolled of the ground and blood splattered on the walls, the ground, everywhere. The other two cried in horror not believing their eyes.“Talk nonsense if you want to die.”The head of the person rolled off his neck and blood splatters wherever his head rolled on the ground leaving a path of blood for others to see.The other two brothers gasped in horror as they saw their brother’s life fading from his eyes. They now knew the severity of the situation. The look on their face tells me they will cooperate now. This is the problem with the mobs nowadays. They have to see the blood spill first before they could cooperate.“Tell me where your base is?” I asked standing straight in front of the second brother. He looked kind of older than the other one, so I assume he is.“Our base?”He looked lost in thought as if thinking hard about all the possibilities. If betraying was any good enough for him. I know the look on his face, I have seen it all my life to know what was
Esma’s povThe three yellow river beasts. That’s what they call themselves. They were famous as the notorious bandits or thugs of the slab city. Rumour has it that they don’t just attack people, rather they kills all men, kidnap women and rape them as well. They are really evil. So much so that the local authorities put bounties on their heads yet they roamed the city fearlessly and freely. One of them called himself Baal. The eldest son of the three beasts. Famous for his volatile and short temper but care a lot about his siblings and family.A ship where his family was on board was previously attacked. He got so furious after the news reached his ears. He found the culprits and exterminated them all as well everyone they knew, even the elderly.“They support and protect us against disruption of information. they planted spies among us. That’s why I am done if they get the information they want from me.” Harris and Morris plead and kneeled down.“The information you want cannot be so
Esma’s pov“Do you happen to recognize it? hohoho, you have pretty sharp eyes for a warrior.” He said.He looked at us, eyeing our reactions, he doesn’t know our identities yet.“Well, but it doesn’t mean that we won’t sell information so there’s no need to be disappointed.” I raised my eyebrows.“if you promise me that you have no ulterior motives in trying to figure out the location of the head of the enlightened one and pay for that information, I will tell you.” he said And smiled evilly. As if proving his words right we heard many footsteps outside the room.“We are surrounded, judging from their sounds, there seems to be thirty of them.” August said. Mr. M walked towards Dumeny.“Dumeny Ross. I heard you returned recently to the lawless city of slab. You were the hired assassin worked as a lone wolf (It’s a metaphor for someone who works alone). I heard you left your past life behind and joined your family business.”“And…” the guy named Mr. M walked towards me and August.“I am
Esma’s pov There are seven continents in the world. separated by sea, ocean and mountains. Among them, there are countless factions and small packs. However, there are four heavenly packs who guides and governs them and are literally called themselves the powerhouses. The blue moon pack governed by us in the south. My father and his ancestors were the one who settled themselves hundreds of years ago and established themselves as one of the powerhouses. Then there’s Black claw pack in the north, the most ancient and the most powerful pack, rich in diversity and resources from the very start. To the west, the unorthodox faction of Rogues which are not governed by the laws of the packs and are referred as barbarians. They long lost their sanity and ability to change themselves back to humans. And lastly, there is the Mountain keepers in the east. It is the pack of Dumeny. The world of werewolves have been divided among these four great forces for hundreds of years and the border are
Esma’s povMe and August soon leave the house. we have been working nonstop since we have come together to maintain the stability within our pack. if it was not for the alpha blood and both of us the wolves in our pack would have gone rogue. It was pure luck that we both were present in the pack at the same time, if not, I couldn’t dare to think what would happen to my people.I mind linked Asher when I was done with organising my pack. Asher appeared before me in no time.“You called?” he said no beating around the bush with him.I sighed and told him everything we discussed with Dumeny. He listened to everything in silence.“I have heard about this city. If Diana is there, it won’t be easy to get her out.” he said and I hummed. I already know about it. To rescue a witch from the city of the witch hunters.“We will think of something.” I said although I was assuring myself.“What are your orders for me?” he said. “I will follow to hell although we just came back from there.” he said a
Esma’s pov“You are certain they will be there.” I nodded and look him into the eyes.“Then, let’s get those bastards for what they have to done to us.” Dumeny growled.I clutched August’s hand in mine as I said yes too.“I have a plan.” Dumeny said in the end.“What kind of plan?” I asked looking at his face. now that I notice him, he have grown a quite in the few days since I saw him. his eyes, they were no longer belong to a carefree man whom I once used to know. They have a serious sense of duty and responsibility. Plus, I don’t know I have a ere feeling coming from his side, I don’t know how to put it in words, but he has changed a lot.In terms of power, he was already in par with an alpha. He might be powerful than his father.I rarely find myself getting out unscathed if fought against him. he has grown rapidly since last time I saw him.“We have to attack them simultaneously. Just like they did. We have to make them think and divert their attention on someone or something and
Esma’s pov“Hey Dumeny. Long time no see.” I said as I saw him standing in the middle of the hall in my house.Last time I saw him, it was the alpha’s meeting and after that I was kidnapped by Ravenna and the witches.I never heard from him after that. Hell, I didn’t saw him after that.“Same for me.” he said and out of sudden he rushed towards me and pulled me in his arms.“I am sorry you have to go through this all by your own.” he said and hugged me tightly. I can tell he was genuinely concerned for me and I hugged him back. I really missed a friend. We ended the hug and he sit in the other side of the table.August soon returns with the beer cans and I rolled my eyes.My brother knows me best. He reads my mind. He passed me the can which I took happily. He sat beside me and we just enjoyed our beers for a while.“Look Emmy. I know this is not the right time for me to ask, but you can please tell me about the day you were kidnapped?” Dumeny breaks the silence and I looked at August
