VI. Wolf on the Prowl (The Sound of Death) - I

The viewpoint which is nothing more than the top of an ancient waterfall that descends in free fall flowing from the center of the mountain in the periods where there is the highest concentration of rain is the right and perfect place to go to enjoy on a night like this.

In the same way and eye also, it is a place where the human and the natural get along in secret equally, making Belcier even more surprising.

The nature around, rises with a special air of grandeur dominating most of the space.

While on one side on the rocky surface glistens a long road that runs from the source to the top of the viewpoint somewhat narrow, although two vehicles can perfectly pass without concern in the surrounding lanes.

At the end, once you are at the top, such a road is linked to a parking lot that limits for a few meters the warehouse simulation where you enter the bar that, although its tiny appearance is singularly huge inside.

The bar, as that underground structure is called, has given life to the most noisy and amazing and strange parties.

Although honestly everyone knows about its existence in the city little is said about it because just in its dimensions the madness dominated by music, alcohol and fun comes to life during the nights.

. . .  . . .  . . .

You may think that in truth the madness has possibly taken me and that I probably do not find myself perfectly balanced in my five senses.

But I am completely sure that even though I am not aware of what may be happening around us, I can perceive that unusual tingling sensation that occurs on our skin after someone is staring at us in the distance.

It is no joke what I say more sincerely promulgate in my words, because in truth I could perceive the weight of those eyes on my body who kept riveted with fervor, although I was not able to detect their entire origin.

By the work of such an action completely still there I was trying to decipher what I was going to do in case the worst scenario came to life because I am aware that I can do little to defend both of us.

The truth was that a little time had elapsed after that taxi left when Lina approached me, puzzled by my strange way of acting after realizing that I was not following her after all.

"Emma what's going on? "

Lina worried about what might happen to me was looking for a way to insist and therefore know the reasons why for a long time I have been acting out of the ordinary, but unfortunately this ends as it began without receiving a single response.

Lina tried in every possible way to shake me to make me come to my senses and insisted again and again without any success, but it was not until the voice of a man curiously located behind our backs replied...

"Young ladies it is well known that you cannot stay here alone" that you completely regain your composure again.

For some reason my head played a trick on me in a brazen way made me imagine that whoever was there was nothing more than one of those wolves with whom I had recently come across, of course from my nerves so the anguish quickly dominated me and so without thinking twice I turned to the place where that voice came from.

The most curious thing of all was that since our arrival not a single soul had been seen hanging around the bar so where had this man come from? I questioned myself in the face of doubt.

The truth I could not help but be stunned to see such a happy man who was there after contemplating him in silence once I turned around, because before me lay a gentleman of elegant bearing who was around some almost two meters tall

He had a white complexion, reddish hair and amber eyes, he had a beard that was not too abundant, but it was well marked, he wore an elegant suit with the front part somewhat open in which it seemed a few minutes ago perhaps he had removed a tie and who with a subtle and serene expression was there.

Lina after seeing him did not take long to issue a greeting of surprise after recognizing such an individual so drawing a smile on her lips she said...

"Oh! Hello Mr. Lyall is it you, how nice to see you? "

"The taste is mine Lina. "

With a kind smile he directed his hand to Lina being equally reciprocated by this and with which greeting of yesteryear he lowered his head directing his mouth to the top of her hand where after giving a kiss he moved away from her.

Not very well that one was standing upright with a somewhat daring look fixed his eyes on me as if trying to bare the depths of my soul searching for my innermost secrets.

"What brings you around these parts? "Lina openly questions him.

"I was solving some work issues, issues that I couldn't leave for later. "

Without another pause he settled in, one in which I could distinguish how, although not openly, that man from time to time fixed his huge eyes on me and continued saying.

"Now who is your beautiful friend, Lina? "

"True, I haven't introduced you yet how rude that was of me; Mr. Lyall she's my friend Emma is new in town. "

And just like he did with her, that man didn't take long to extend his hand to me.

The question arose because I did not want to return that greeting because of the distrust I felt before my ignorance about that man, now, if I did not I knew that I would probably end up passing as an ill-mannered and arrogant girl in his eyes which I did not suppose to my complete liking.

At that moment I didn't know what to do, even less how to address him, so I insisted on watching Lina for an answer, but, unfortunately for me, instead of leaning between my teeth, she replied that I should answer.

Having no other option and even less any way to escape, finally appealing to reason, I extended my hand to that man.

Then Lyall made the same movement that he had done with Lina before and in the same way he received me, again extending his hand to take mine and there he lowered his head to spread a kiss on her.

I thought that everything would be that simple just like it happened with Lina but the surprise was not because not very well she came up to me that one was completely stunned out of nowhere.

Before his reaction I could not help thinking at that moment that perhaps something had corrupted his thoughts and it was right there that while we were distracted that the howling of a wolf in the distance was heard.

That man did not hesitate to erect his body again now with a defensive attitude while he then released my hand immediately on the spot, instead Lina and I were terrified hugging each other.

"What was that? "emphasizes Lina taken for the first time by fear after hearing that strange sound of surprise.

Lyall after observing the agitation that was manifested in both of them shuddered, without a doubt hearing that caused a great discomfort in her person and turning her back to us she approached us placing herself like a wall to protect us.

Now thinking about it completely close to him and comparing our scarce one hundred and sixty-five centimeters we could perhaps pass as small and tiny porcelain dolls.

"I just said it only once so pay close attention, do not separate from me, walk slowly in the direction of the facade do not scream, do not cry, move with complete caution slowly and confidently. "

"You say it as if it were something so simple," muses the one who remains terrified.

And so slowly we started our march, the bar was a few fifty meters away, but with such slowness it could feel as if we were facing an eternal challenge fighting for our lives after all.

The sounds coming from what was lurking were mind-boggling, threatening growls that could become louder and louder.

Before us it could be perceived as an ancient struggle where suspicion and hatred were the main protagonists which took life while they were still kept contained in the middle of nature from where they watched us from afar wanting to hunt us because what was there did not dare to take the first step yet.

I have to say that from the first moment I could listen to him I could differentiate that it was indeed one of us who openly enjoyed perceiving the smell of fear that largely emanated from us, without a doubt at that moment we were his main attraction.

He did not hesitate to gloat at the thought that we were trapped in his trap and that we probably would not have any salvation and even I for a moment gave him the reason, but time would undoubtedly snatch her completely.

A short time later what seemed to be a simple animal sound began to have a voice and at least for me it began to have meaning and meaning.

Each of their growls could be completely interpreted by me, so once sharpening my ear pay attention to their chatter.

"Damn Lyall, you thought you were going to catch me, you thought you were going to turn me over to your boss's bastard, but, I assure you, you won't get it... "

I reply a first time as clear and firm as no other speech.

"You wanted to safeguard your doubt is not so yes everything that happened with the cargo had been my fault, well yes I will give you an answer, although I thought I would never affirm yes... "

His impudence in pronouncing each of those words was atrocious and before anything I did not understand how there could be a being as horrible as him.

"Yes, I was the cause, by my hands their plans were ruined, by my hands their men were captured and I assure you that by my claws today your life and those of those women behind your back will have finally been extinguished especially that of the omega who hides behind you. "

What a dilemma and without me wanting it I had been involved in all this.

Then that was what was happening, it was what I questioned and along with those doubts and more doubts were formed.

Countless more questions were running through my head, but there was one specific one that was repeated with great emphasis, was Lyall also a wolf friend or enemy, the worst of what kind it would be and what would be the reason that he would have to protect us because it was obvious that he would not give his arm to twist.

But no matter how much that wolf insisted on openly challenging him with his threats, that man did not utter the slightest word.

Before our eyes an uncertain struggle arose, a struggle that had neither meaning nor any logic, especially for us who were completely unaware of the reason for this situation and so for a long time he challenged us.

What a surprise the three of us took after a few minutes elapsed where the silenced was our most faithful ally and uncertainty controlled us because out of nowhere a loud sound not far from where we were already arose.

That wolf had finally given his face, he had finally dared to confront us, showing his teeth towards us with great suspicion, while threads of slime and blood descended from his mouth.

His muzzle remained completely open, it was evident that all he wanted was to hunt us down, devour us and end our complete existence.

The wolf began to place himself from nowhere in an attacking position, I watched him attentively bring his hind legs back to gain momentum and bend his head to have stability when launching, thus giving notice that there was no turning back.

There was no way out, we were completely doomed was what I presumed, everything after that turned out to feel so uncertain and so far from one's own life that one could even come to feel that it was almost certain that we would have no future. By fate, despite the obvious fear, I still remained strong and with a cold head because looking at Lina trembling the way she did forced me to fight against whatever I wanted to hurt her, because I simply could not allow her to be hurt. What moved me even more was to notice that just like me Lyall had the same thought preserving that girl's life was fundamental. The tension was increasing more and more and next to it an unusual heaviness could be perceived in the environment. The air around felt extremely saturated, charging as if death had settled on us and kept covering us with its veil, approaching perhaps like an old friend running to meet us and… Pof! Lina could no longer stand so much accumulated information that the experie

A mocking laugh broke out from between his lips without a doubt my words turned out to be nothing before his person and as if nothing was worth the redundancy, he continued his march in a fixed direction to where he was definitely walking. A few more seconds were more than enough until we reached its destination which was nothing more than a clearing in the middle of the bed that gives access to the viewpoint who is away from the bar for a few meters was where he led me. Once there, after arriving at the edge of a vehicle that in any case was on, he finally stopped his walk. "We have arrived little list" that incredulous while he looked at my face maintaining above all an obvious air of pedantry that could easily be confused with chivalry. For my part, I kept silent and just dedicated myself to keeping calm, especially attentive to what he was doing. That was then how I ended up fixing my eyes completely on his person before his seductive gaze and who with great delicacy once

I left the viewpoint completely mowed down without knowing how long later I should return, dominated by anger as if a strange thread of blood dominated me from within controlling my every move. Even when I increased my gait I could feel Kira's screams snorting non-stop to the side in my ear so the little journey that remained before reaching where Bazili was I did it at a double pace increasing the demand in my gait. Without paying attention to anything or anyone else, I approached the car, opened the door and dived into it, dropping my body with all its weight on that seat. "It's okay sir" with an expression of uneasiness and fear Bazili releases that question full of concern. " No. " "You need me to do something for you doesn't look good at all. " "Just start, let's go home. " As a direct order that man did not take long to obey and turning his head he placed the key in the starter cylinder instantly giving way to that vehicle finally ignited so that car b

When I finally returned to where they were, I breathed a sigh of relief after checking their bodies and not finding any wounds on them; so I finally relaxed. Emma, like Lina, had become unconscious as a result of the overstimulation produced at the moment; both of them, as if bodies alien to life at that moment seemed to meet. I have to admit and I am sincere in what I will say because the idea of saving a human was not entirely to my liking, something that I expressed a long time ago before Lyall and that I stressed directly to Emma once she woke up. Now, I am aware that if I had not intervened, I am almost sure that Lyall would put a price on my head for not protecting his beloved Lina after having the opportunity. The scenes that followed seemed more than anything taken out of some romantic movie where the faithful knight saves his princess, although they are just simple hoaxes or at least that's what it figures for me, because I'm not a supporter of romanticism at all.

Several days have already passed since what happened at the viewpoint, a situation that I avoid remembering because the simple fact of talking about it causes my skin to stand up and not precisely because of the beauty or pleasant memory. During this time the restlessness has taken part in my life despite the fact that Lina and I constantly find ourselves protected by Lyall since he without a word or any objection settled in our lives without even asking for permission and we have had to end up accepting that situation. Now, although I am quietly glad to have Lyall around, I still feel that something big much more than we can handle is happening behind the shadows and I am terrified just thinking about it because I am aware that I would not be able to have such a situation under complete control since probably before my weakness I would be exposed to danger. So, in silence I find myself obliged to swallow my concern dry and for that reason I can't help but wonder if it was okay

After being surrounded by the mystery itself for a while like this, Dominieck for the first time since I crawled to this place raised his face to observe me. " "And because you think I would answer you you are but a mere stranger to me. "Better avoid pissing me off more than I already am, I assure you that you would not like to see my worst face. " "I promise you nothing. " " OK... then I can assume that you will make it difficult for me. " "I'm glad you noticed, you save me from having to say it directly. I looked at him, but as I was afraid that movement caused nothing in his person, not the slightest reaction, not the slightest gesture, there he stood completely still while even his paw lay right on my torn clothes and close to my exposed chest. First of all, he seemed to be taken by surprise, I'm afraid he didn't expect to receive that reaction from me, but as always his face didn't give any sign to interpret, except for his eventual silence. "I admit you have guts. " "Thank my mentors for that, they knew how to prepare me to react to any possible idiot like you and I know that you are a living example of it Dominieck. " I fixed my eyes even more strongly on him, openly challenging him and taking a piece of courage from my broken soul, I replied almost immediately after giving a sigh. " Say... you don't get tired, because it's better not to talk at once and say what this silly Dominieck game is about, stop hitting it in the long run and ask questions that really make

The surprise and excitement soon showed on my face, even though for a moment I had forgotten that I was looking for him. "The locket, but how. " "A moment ago while we were talking with Dominieck I saw it in a corner, I imagined it was yours because it has your scent, although I am surprised that the smell of Linsey and Eliot comes out of it so strongly. " With all the passivity of the world I took it in my hands, with the mind taken of memories and ideas I contemplated it, serene and completely calm. With the tips of my fingers I rubbed the back face of the locket and opening it almost on the spot I stressed. "This is why its smell is perceived in me. " I opened it completely before Lyall's eyes and even more strongly the aroma of grandparents came out of that object. After all, before him he no longer had any mask, because it was evident that after listening to him that they knew each other and that they probably had a good relationship. Although thinking abou

At the end of everything, reading the last words that were part of that delicate letter made a huge commotion form in our thoughts, it was first of all how that made me feel and it was logical to understand or even think that for whoever was next to me would undoubtedly feel much worse. Almost immediately when I took my eyes away from those pieces of paper I guided my eyes to where Dominieck was since I wanted to see his face because I needed to discover in him, that so much of what was written had affected him, because knowing about his father already dead through these lines I estimate was not the most ac

Hello my little children; my beloved son Dominieck and my beloved girl Emma who gave me the title of grandfather. So many years have passed since the last time my beloved and I saw them, that when I remember it it is difficult for me not to write these lines without having first shed a few tears as a result of the pain that memories cause me when they lash out against me, torturing me without any mercy. Such thoughts make this even more difficult, which in itself already is, so much so that it even forces me to question whether what my beloved Aerdmond and I did was the right thing and I am talking about having left them practically to their fate at the time, because I feel that without a doubt we could have fought even harder and freed them from much of this cruel torment, although that undoubtedly would have condemned us even faster to death. He took my hands as if I were some little child who is just beginning to take his first steps and still does not have enough confidence to be able to take them for fair independence, while he kept his back guiding me into that place, a place in which not very well received me with an unexpected company. Seeing the anger in me, Lyall raised his hands in the air in the direction of the front in denial while repeating "no, not at all. Dominieck continued to be punctual in each of his words, emphasizing those which he thought prudent, implying above all that this was part of an absolute truth. While those were distracted waiting for an event that would not happen, no one noticed how heavy the air and the environment became; out of nowhere and little by little the breeze began to whip, first the wind felt quite light so it could merely be associated with a mere refreshing breeze and suddenly, due to the ignorance of the soldiers, it began to increase with intensity, trapping them before they could get to do something. ... "Many years ago, back in the days when humanity still did not think about making itself known with the imposing modernity of this century, not ignoring its achievements and its advances to our bad luck, the story of the moon wolves emerged among the packs, one which far surpasses fantasy stories and that for a long time the truth was tried to reproduce without much success. " Dominieck began to narrate all that while she took her gaze away from me and left her lost in the distance more and more focused as if she were looking with a demand to remember. "At that time the world for wolves was much more complicated than now, since, if it could be said that unlike those times we now have a place in such a happy creation, so to speak, that does not take away the fact that we have to live with restrictions because first of all we must respect the mind and fear and its very existence in the world, speaking of humans, of course, to maintain balance, although we are allowed to be in turns

The aroma that Dominieck emanated for that moment was extremely pleasant and intoxicating thing that I think his wolf part had something to do, because our second faces always have an answer to give that will not always be according to our requirements and that includes that our skin also comes to perceive a somewhat different aroma, when something does not convince them or when they simply want to take the opposite in some cases not in all. Therefore, it was only enough for me to perceive such a fragrance so that in the end I ended up immersed in a warm sea of thoughts and emotions that, although I could have fought against his vile daring in the end I did not, because in the way we ended up together it was impossible for me to exercise any movement that would lead us to that kiss to come to an end, since somehow he had managed to overcome my fighting spirit, the worst of all was that without a doubt I had to admit that I had liked to be bowed down under his firm command . It was about half past five in the morning when everything started, as expected I was asleep on that peaceful bed, until the unusual presence of someone climbing to my left side at that time woke me up, after such an individual abruptly move that bed.
