Emma came to the room an hour after James left.

I was happy to hang out with her because she was warm and friendly.

As much as I noticed Chloe had changed, she still scared me.

I wondered how they found out about David and Emily, or maybe they had known all along.

I was glad she was out of prison because I knew locking her up got to James and added to his stress.

"Goddess, you look like shit," Emma said, sitting on the couch in the room, and I giggled.

"Try being Caspian's prisoner for a month and see how well you do," I said, and she raised her hand, surrendering and shaking her head.

"No, please, thank you," She said and winked at me.

"Congratulations, by the way," She said, and I smiled at her.

"You are lucky, you know," Emma said, and I nodded.

One thing I was sure of was that no one gets away from Caspian, but my mother and I had gotten away. I was grateful for it.
