His Lost Love

"So did he tell you anything about Hadia, why he was chasing her?"

Sitting beside him near the single sofa Asfand asked him whose eyes were fixed on the painting pasted on the front wall. He seemed to be lost in some deep thought.

On the voice of Asfand, he came back to his senses.

"He was informing him every moment about Hadia. And I was unaware all these days what if he reaches to her."

In a rage, he lands a strong punch on the table in front of him. Today his anger doesn't seem to subside any time soon. Despite his tight security where he has been wrong?

"Till you are with Hadia no one can look at her with evil eye let alone touch her with sinister intention."

He patted him on his broad shoulder doing his impossible try to lessen his rage.

He and Wadan are childhood friends. Same as their fathers have a close friendship. The bonding between both is more like a brotherhood.

He was well aware of his wild behavior.

"I can do anything for her safety. Asfand for that if I have to confine her to the home, I will do so."

He was grazing his fingers in his hair in an attempt to try to lower his restlessness.

"You don't need to tell me to what extent you can go for Hadia's safety, I'm well aware of this."

He glanced at his dear friend for once.

For years he was seeing his concern for Hadia. He was very possessive for her. Hadia was also special to him. So his anger can be justified.

"By the way, Wadan, your possessiveness for Hadia is a good thing. But sometimes you go overboard in your doing without thinking and considering how your reaction will affect her. Taking care of her safety will lead to separating you from her despite knowing that in this whole world no one is there of Hadia."

He stopped for a moment and glanced at Wadan's facial expressions which seemed completely stern. As if he was battling inside with himself.

"And it's only her who is left with you. So become her support and nearer her with himself."

He said looking at him who was strolling here and there. He himself was amazed at the decision which he took for Hadia.

"No Asfand, it's better for her wellbeing that she stay away from me. That fire will burn her which is burning me. My life has two objectives safety of Hadia and the destruction of that man because of whom my all happiness was destroyed."

His facial expressions were very grim and Asfand knows very well what battle is provoked inside of him.

"You can't change whatever happened in the past Wadan. It's not necessary to what you are thinking same will happen in the future. But I’m not stopping you from taking revenge."

As usual, he tried to make him understand his point.

"As far as I know you called me to talk about yourself. If you want to talk about me then I don't have any time now."

As usual, to avoid talking about himself today he also ended his discussion and darted towards the door.

"She filed a lawsuit for the custody of her son."

His hand was now on the doorknob when on Asfand's voice Wadan instantly turned towards him.

"Do you know about her coming back?"

Seeing him standing silently, Asfand further asked him. He knew now he wasn't going to talk about himself so he told Wadan the purpose of calling him here.

"No, in these past five years, she didn't contact me."

Now he forgets his tension and completely becomes attentive towards him.

"Now what will you do?"

He just asked him this and didn't try to say anything further.

"I talked with my lawyer. He will find a way out. But I will not let her win this lawsuit at any cost."

After making himself clear, he turned towards Wadan who was standing silently looking at him. They both knew the reason for their silence of each other.

"Fine, then whatever happens inform me. Now I am going. I came here leaving unattended work now I am going to finish it."

Taking leave from him, Wadan stormed out of his office. While Asfand gazed chased him till he disappeared from his eyes.

He understands Wadan tension and confusion so it was hard for him to favor one in both people. And especially when these two people are very dear to him.

On the one side if it was Asfand then on the other side it was Laraib.

**********

It was late at night when he came back from a hectic business party. He doesn't want to go there but considering the importance of that party for the wellbeing of his company so unwillingly he has to go there.

First of all, he came into Aashir's room. He glanced at his sleeping tiny figure. A relief surged into his whole form after finding him sound sleeping.

During the party, when he called his father that is when his father informed him about the accident that happened with Aashir. He wants to quickly come out of there but he wasn't able to do so.

His son doesn't suffer from any injury and that was enough to make him relieved.

For some moments, he kept standing there staring at him. Then he turned back and taking heavy footsteps entered his room.

His room was dimly dark and he didn't feel it necessary to switch on the light. Putting his coat on the bed he entered the washroom.

After freshening up when he came out of the washroom and straightly went to the bed and more like a falling he lay on the bed.

Feeling the softness and smoothness of the bed, his eyelashes become heavy because of tiredness.

Before he went into a deep slumber, he tossed to the right side. Being in a sleepy state, his senses become alert when he sensed a strange feeling. But still, he kept his eyes shut.

He felt that someone is near him. And he felt the urge to drift closer to her. But this time he was completely awakened by feeling a beautiful scent beside him.

And instantly someone's face flashed behind his opened eyes.

He felt that it was because of sleep he must be hallucinating. But in the very next moment, when he felt someone's hand lying on his chest and his senses becomes high alert.

Harshly he pushed the hand away and with a jerk, he got up and slide down from the bed.

Sanam, who had just now drifted to sleep, opened her eyes to her badly pushing her away. Upon seeing someone sitting near her, sleep vanished from her eyes as fear overtook her.

In dread, as she opened her mouth for shouting but he was quick to sense her intention and immediately he put his strong hand on her mouth to suppress her shouting.

"Who are you? And what are you doing here in my room? I am taking away my hand from your mouth, you are going to answer me without shouting."

He instructed her in his dominating voice. If she was some thief then she wouldn't have sound sleeping here. But he was suspicious of who this girl is.

On the other side, Sanam, who was trembling because of fear, was dumbfounded after listening to the voice of the one in front of her.

She can recognize this voice and this tone in millions. She becomes standstill in her place on listening to this voice after years.

"I'm asking you something. Who are you?"

On her sitting mum, Asfand got up from his place and switch on the light of the room.

But the very next moment as his eyes went to the person sitting on the bed, he also becomes standstill at his place.

They both were staring at each other without saying a word. Many moments passed in this silence but not a single word came out of the mouth of anyone.

He was seeing her after full six years and in these past six months there was not a single moment when Asfand didn't hate this girl.

In these past years, she didn't change a bit. But, in fact, her beauty was amplified further.

Asfand felt himself getting drowned in her astonished filled wide opened eyes. He immediately scolds himself for getting impulsive.

"What are you doing right now in my house and my room?"

Controlling his inner self and masking his expressions, he asked her with a look of contempt.

On his asking the question, Sanam got the answers to questions originating in her mind.

It was not a mere coincidence, Aashir's father was no one else but her Asfi, her first and last love.

"I stayed here on the insistence of your dad. I didn't know that it's your house and Aashir is your son."

She hardly made herself to speak the last sentence and glanced at him for once.

Wearing a black t-shirt and gray trousers, his muscular body was clearly apparent in his apparel. His personality seems to be further groomed in these last six years.

She was just staring at him without blinking her eyes.

And Asfand, who was standing with stone-cold expressions, glaring at her. On the answer of Sanam, he got to know the whole matter.

The one who saved the life of his son was no one else but Sanam.

"How strange, isn't it that heartless people like you, who only create troubles for others, can save someone's life."

He scoffed and smiled sarcastically as if making fun of her. While his tone and his mockery made Sanam's eyes watery.

She squirmed and got up from her place.

"I didn't trouble anyone."

She hardly made herself to speak by controlling her tears. While Asfand burst into laughter at what she told him.

He kept on laughing at her until a tear slipped from his eye and was immersed in the carpet. But he didn't feel it.

"You are right Sanam, you don't trouble anyone but in fact you directly kill him."

With bloodshot eyes, he turned towards her. For many years he was living with this hatred that was weighing his heart so he can't stop himself from bursting on her after seeing her right in front.

How many prayers Sanam made that she didn't face her Asfand in her life but today she was present in front of him and that too in his room.

"Asfi you can't blame me like....."

She was left in midway when he raised his hand and stopped her from saying anything further.

"The man standing in front of you is Asfand Yaar Khan, not Asfi, Sanam Ibrahim Khan..... You have killed that Asfi six years before."

The coldness in his voice made her heartbroken. She wasn't used to this behavior. But the man standing in front of her wasn't wrong. Now he was returning the pain she gave him.

She was trying to hold her tears from falling but it wasn't either working in her favor.

"You saved the life of my son that's why you are still present here. Otherwise, if I want then I wouldn't let you stop here for a moment. So you get lost from this room and don't come into my view."

He said heartlessly seeing her letting her tears fall. He clenched his fist as if trying to control his rage.

"I myself wouldn't stay here if I knew this is your house. And by the way, I don't want to become the cause of trouble for anyone."

After done with her saying, she didn't stop there and stormed out of his room.

After her leave, Asfand in anger harshly kicked the nearby table. And he glanced at the place where Sanam was standing a while ago.

He was praying that it all was his dream and he woke up from that dream. But it was not like that. His painful past, his trouble came again and stood in front of him.

He was still helpless in trying to forget his painful past.

Only two women came into his life and they both left him in the end.

He didn't hate Laraib that much the way he hate Sanam.

Because he was in immense love with Sanam Ibrahim Khan, but now he hates her that much.
