OWEN'S POV

She looked worried, but I didn't know if she was worried about me or worried about the fact that I might cancel the contract. That's never gonna happen. I slipped my hand inside my pocket and brought out a ring case and her eyes lit up.

“There was something about her that didn't sit well with me.” She looked confused and I almost laughed. “The question you asked me, why I proposed the contract to you when I already had someone.”

Her mouth formed into an ‘O’ and she nodded like she understood me. I knew she didn't because she was still playing with her fingers nervously.

“So…” She started with a small voice. “Is there something about me that sits well with you?”

Her question caught me off guard and I found myself thinking about it as well. What made me propose the contract to her anyway?

“I don't know… I guess it was because you needed my help? And you don't look like a gold digger so… that's probably why.”
