By the time he returned to the manor, Grace was awake.

She was wearing a white nightdress, and she looked beautiful and gentle despite having no makeup on.

She was standing in the garden, watering the plants. Droplets of water sprayed into her arm, and they shone like jewels under the sunlight.

When Xander saw this scene, his impulsive mood calmed down at once. An involuntary smile appeared in his eyes.

"You're back!" Grace saw him standing by the car. She threw the hose down and ran over. "Why didn't you tell me that you were going out?"

Xander caught her in his arms. "I woke up early and was afraid that I would disturb your rest."

Grace looked doubtful, and she tapped his chin with her finger. She said in a small voice, "I want to sleep with you tonight."

Xander choked at how direct she was. A smile played about his lips as he said, "You're so forward."
