As the momentary darkness in front of her eyes faded away, Sophie regained her composure and walked toward the operating theater door. She then peered inside as if she were waiting for the verdict of fate.

The renowned head of the neurosurgery department emerged from the theater, his weary figure indicating the challenging nature of the surgery.

"Doctor, how's my son?" Vivienne grabbed the surgeon's arm, her anxiety evident as she longed to rush in and take a look.

"We've successfully cleared all intracranial hematoma, but due to the location of the injury involving many nerves, I can't rule out the possibility of nerve damage. Prepare yourselves for the possibility that your son might never wake up," the doctor explained solemnly.

Feeling the seriousness in the head's tone, Cedric narrowed his eyes, and his lips pursed into a straight line.

After a few seconds, he asked in a dangerous tone, "What do you mean by 'prepare for the possibility that he might never wake up'?"
