The restaurant manager approached Cedric and Valerie respectfully. "Mr. Carlson, Ms. Brynd, please follow me to your table."

After seating them at a prime spot in the restaurant, the manager hesitated before asking, "What would you like to order?"

"Anything."

The manager was startled by Cedric's nonchalant reply. 'Anything? Such a casual response is unexpected in such an upscale setting.'

Valerie saved the moment with a smile, opting for some of the restaurant's priciest dishes. She then turned to Cedric. "The Cedric I remember wouldn’t allow himself to be manipulated so easily."

'A man capable of making his company eclipse Carlson Group in five years surely wouldn’t miss my calculated approach. His cooperation, then, must be connected to Sophie.'

"You get what you want, and I get what I want. It's a mutual need," Cedric said, raising a glass of fine wine as a toast to Valerie.
