Chapter 43

Archer.

Three days had passed since we settled into our new house in the Madsun Pack. It was a far cry from the cramped apartment we used to live in—spacious, with separate rooms for everyone, even one for baby Emily when she grows up.

I was supposed to head over to the Alpha’s office to finish processing some last-minute documents, but Katrina showed up at the front gate and, well, let’s just say that changed my day by doing that time capsule thing and her big news.

By the time I got home, a grin was practically glued to my face. My mother didn’t miss a beat when she saw me walk in.

“Feeling good?” she asked, eyes twinkling as she chopped onions at the kitchen table.

I nodded, still smiling like a fool. “Yeah, Katrina and I talked.”

“And? How is she?”

“She passed Harvard Law. She’s going to be a top-notch lawyer.” I couldn’t keep the pride out of my voice.

“That’s wonderful!” My mother beamed, pausing from her chopping. “That girl’s always been impressive.”
