28. A fake marriage?

Amber walked back to where her friend was when she noticed her uneasiness.

"Are you okay?" She bent beside Victoria to ask.

"Yeah, she's asking me to marry her son, can you believe that?" Victoria replied in a hushed tone. She wasn't generally angry, but she found the whole thing unusual.

"Yes, I can." She heard Amber reply to her rhetorical question.

"No Amber, you don't get, she..." Victoria wanted to explain to Amber that she got it all wrong, but Amber pulled her up from the chair.

"Ssshh." Amber hushed Victoria's words. "Excuse us for a minute?" Amber smiled dragging her friend away from Gemma.

"We should call Brown right? Why didn't I think of that." Victoria said once they were out of Gemma's earreach.

"No. Why would we involve Brown in this?"

"I don't know. In case things go wrong."

"We are at a hotel, what could go wrong? There's camera everywhere, except for the rooms." Amber folded her arms across her chest.

"Things could still go wrong, you know."
