'You hurt your sister a lot with your words.' Sheena said to Mary. They had just hailed a taxi and were climbing into the back seat.

Mr Dominic forbade anyone to use any of his fleet of cars especially when he was away. One of his many strict rules and so they jumped taxis.

Mary had been troubled by what Mirabel had said to her. Mirabel spoke with so much conviction, accusing Mary of betraying her family and promising to regret it when it was too late. Deep down Mary was certain Sheena wasn't like that. And Sheena's query, defending her evil sister, Mirabel, just proved it.

'It's not right that they treat you the way they do. They've had a fair share of Dad's wrath. They should understand.' Mary said, her tone clear of the doubt Mirabel had awoken.

'You shouldn't speak to her that way because of me.' Sheena insisted.

'I can't believe you still care about her feelings after everything she does to you. It's because of your kindness they take advantage of you.' Mary pointed out, amazed a
