Leo saw her walking towards the showroom and couldn't help but follow her. After making his way through the crowd to get behind her, he reached out and tapped her on the shoulder.
The woman turned around but it was a completely unfamiliar face.
“What do you want?” The other person didn't know him, but upon seeing his luxurious attire, she immediately smiled warmly. “Do you want my number?” She said taking out her phone.
Leo's face darkened, and he coldly said, “Sorry I got the wrong person.” After speaking he left without hesitation.
The woman was stunned and angrily cursed. “Are you crazy? You mistook someone on the street. Are you blind?”
However, the only response she received was Leo's merciless back.
Not far away, Amelia, wearing the same coat as the woman, stood in the crowd, watching Leo's back with a cold smile.
“Leo, six years ago I treated you like a treasure, but you didn't cherish it. I will never give you the chance to hurt me again.”
She put on her mask and turned to walk towards the showroom.
Soon, the event began. Models on stage kept showcasing various products and Amelia sat in the back watching indifferently without any emotions.
She caught sight of the two people who betrayed her and felt a sudden tightening in her chest.
Front row.
Sophia turned to the side and smiled at Leo, “Babe, this is the design I hired a designer from abroad to create for you. The styles and colors are both Innovative and bold. What do you think?”
Leo's face showed no expression as he nodded perfunctorily. “Not bad.”
Sophia felt his attitude was a bit cold, but she didn't dare say anything and could only smile appropriately.
“My idea this time is to seize the first market share of this summer with this design. I hope it will be successful.”
Leo didn't respond.
His gaze was somewhat wandering, not even on the dazzling clothes on the stage. There was only one thought in his mind.
‘Was the figure I just saw Amelia? It's impossible Amelia is already dead.’
That woman not only killed Damien Jones but also eloped with her lover on the night she signed the divorce agreement, making him the laughingstock of the whole city.
How could he think of her again?
However, the more he tried not to think about it, the clearer Amelia's smiling face came to his mind.
Sophia pushed his arms. “Leo, the show is over. I'm going up to speak. Are you coming with me?”
Leo's face didn't look good, and his voice was cold. “You go ahead, I'm not going.”
Sophia's eyes showed obvious disappointment, but she could only smile faintly.
“Okay then.”
She took the designer and went up the stage.
At this point, it was the official procedure of the main creators to give a speech, and the corresponding content had been set up on the big screen behind them.
Sophia spoke gracefully about the design, concept, experience, and inspiration of the works.
But then, there was a commotion in the crowd. She didn't pay attention thinking that she had spoken too well and had resonated with everyone.
However, as the commotion grew louder, people began throwing mineral water bottles, paper balls, and other debris onto the stage.
Sophia suddenly panicked. “What's going on? What's wrong with everyone?”
Sophia glanced in Leo's direction, only to see his gaze fixedly staring behind her, and she quickly turned around.
The big screen displayed several lines of large characters. “New plagiarism, Murderer.”
“Ah…” Sophia screamed in fright and fell to the ground.
Then the screen switched to a woman drowning in the sea.
“Sophia, save me! Help me!”
The woman in the scene kept struggling in the water, her voice becoming more and more desperate.
“Sophia save me! help me!”
Sophia felt her brain was about to explode. She screamed desperately, “Who put up the video? Turn it off! Quickly turn it off.”
And she rushed backstage.
However, there were hundreds of media reporters on the scene who wouldn't let her go and quickly stopped her.
“Miss Sophia, what do those lines of text mean? Can even a big brand like Butterfly plagiarize?”
“There was a woman in the video who kept shouting for help, who is she?”
“Miss Sophia…”
Sophia felt cold sweat all over her body, and countless terrifying thoughts rushed into her mind.
She couldn't bear it anymore and said, “How will I know? I don't even know her.”
She pushed through the crowd and ran towards Leo in a panic, only to find that his seat was already empty, and he had walked towards the door.
She panicked and followed him.
“Leo, listen to me, this is an accident, not what you think.”
Leo stopped and stared at her sharply, “Then what is it?”
“It's…”
Just then, the picture on the big screen changed again. Three powerful and concise blood characters appeared on the screen.
“I AM BACK.”
Sophia screamed and was about to fall, but fortunately, she was supported by Leo.
She murmured, “it's impossible, how could this be…”
Sophia's face turned pale and Leo's face didn't look good either. He let go of Sophia and ordered coldly, “Lisa, take care of Director Jones. If there is anything, wait for me to come back.”
Sophia panicked, “Leo! Leo, don't go…”
Leo ignored her and quickly left the venue.
After getting in the car, he ordered James, “Immediately block all exits and search for Amelia's whereabouts with all your might.”
James was stunned and somewhat incredulous. “Young master, do you mean your wife?”
Leo sneered.
The figure he saw outside the fashion show earlier was not wrong. It was Amelia Smith.
After lying low for six years and causing him to be ashamed for six years, Amelia, what do you want by coming back now?
Amelia didn't expect Leo's actions to be so fast. She originally wanted to hide her identity and play with them slowly, but it seemed impossible. Since that's the case let's see who is stronger.
She quickly took off the wig on her head, changed into the clothes and exaggerated makeup she had prepared long ago, and finally threw everything into the trash can before walking out.
Outside the body guards were guarding the exits and conducting checks one by one.
When it was Amelia's turn, the two guards were shocked by her makeup.
“What's on your face?”
Amelia rolled her eyes.
“It's stage makeup. Do you guys have any problem? Why don't you learn more about fashion? This is the most popular makeup this year.”
The two bodyguards showed a disgusted expression, they impatiently waved their hands and Amelia left with a swagger.
Not far away, Leo was sitting in his car. The car window was only half open, he looked at the woman who walked out of the fashion show with a twist, frowning.
Although the woman had very exaggerated makeup and was nothing like Amelia. But his intuition told him that person was Amelia.
He commanded in a deep voice, “James, follow that car in front.”
Not long after Amelia drove out, she realized that someone was following her from behind. She gave a cold smile and stepped on the gas pedal. Soon, James found out the car was gone, replaced by chaotic traffic. He became anxious. “Young master, I think I lost her.” Leo also noticed and his face became even more unpleasant. “Damn it,” he muttered. Six years ago, Amelia was still a little girl who would get nervous just by touching the steering wheel. But now, she seems to have become more capable. “Did you get the license plate number?” James was stunned for a moment but quickly reacted. “Yes sir.” “Go check the location of the car.” “Okay, sir.” Finally getting rid of the follower, Amelia breathed a sigh of relief. She opened her phone and saw that there were already posts about the Butterfly brand's event online. Sophia's disheveled and frightened appearance was captured on camera. Along with the drowning video, and posted online. The comment section was already floode
Amelia was taken aback, she was somewhat annoyed with herself. She didn't think that way, but for some reason, when the words came out of her mouth they sounded like she cared too much about him. Amelia didn't want to continue the conversation so she changed the subject. “Mr. Reynold, why don't you tell me the purpose of your visit?” Leo didn't pursue the matter and simply asked, “What do you want?” Straightforward that was his style. Amelia smiled a smile that was tinged with sarcasm. “Mr Reynold, are you negotiating with me? Do you want to settle this privately?” Leo didn't deny it. “I didn't know about the plagiarism, but that's not an excuse. If you have any conditions, feel free to state them. I will try my best to fulfill them.” This time Amelia looked at him with a new perspective. Putting aside their personal feelings, in the business world, Leo Reynold was indeed a worthy opponent. It was just a pity he killed Henry. The thought of this made her unable to control
Leo looked at her with cold eyes but said nothing. He had a strong aura and even when he was silent he exuded a chilling atmosphere like an ancient inscrutable emperor making people tremble in fear.Sophia was a little nervous but in order not to reveal anything she forced herself to remain calm.“I've already had someone call Jane over she's in the next room if you don't believe me you can confront her,” she said biting her lips and trying to hide her distress.Only then did Leo slightly relax his brows and ask in a deep voice, “What of the video posted? What's going on? “I'm not sure. The scene was a bit chaotic at the time and I didn't get a good look, but from the voice, it seemed like it was Amelia.”“Leo, do you think Amelia was still holding a grudge after her death and knowing that we were together deliberately made the video to get back at us?”Leo furrowed his brows slightly. The next second Sophia laughed and said, “What am I saying? How could there be ghosts in this world
Mark awkwardly smiled and said, “Before our company had a small team and the workload was light so everyone got used to being casual. Don't worry I will make a big effort to rectify this in the next few days. We will never let this kind of thing happen again.”Amelia furrowed her brows. “It's okay as long as the job is done well.”She paused and said, “Mr Mark you can leave now I will contact you if I have any questions after reviewing the documents.”“Okay ma'am”After Mark left Amelia quickly took out her phone.Sure enough, Leo was trending on all social media platforms. As the heir of Reynold Corporation, Leo was once rated as the most handsome Diamond bachelor by major media outlets due to his youth, wealth, and good looks. He was even jokingly referred to as the national husband by netizens because there were too many women who wanted to marry him.Now his name was prominently displayed on the hot list, followed by hashtag #Exwife#.She clicked on it and saw the content of the p
When they left the Reynold family mansion Sophia called out to Leo.“Leo!”She ran over and smiled, “Are you going back to Flower Hill now?”Leo nodded.“Well my car broke down, so I didn't drive here today. Can you give me a ride down the mountains and I'll take a taxi back myself?”The Reynold family mansion was built on the mountainside with a private winding road of three kilometers that was not accessible to outside vehicles.Leo looked at his wristwatch, it was nine o'clock at night. He said in a deep voice, “Get in the car I'll take you.”Five minutes later. The car was driving smoothly in the darkness with Sophia sitting next to Leo, driven by James. She glanced at Leo's face and hesitated for a long time before summoning the courage to speak, "Leo, the public opinion is getting out of hand I feel like it's not good.”“I'm thinking we should issue a statement or something or at least pay to remove any news or articles related to the drowning video. Otherwise, if everyone keeps
Leo's expression froze.“Did you fire Sophia? I heard she not only didn't leave but also got promoted. She's now a manager of a certain department in Reynold corporation. Wow, how powerful.”Leo's eyes flickered. He said in a deep voice, “You only suggested that she leave, but didn't say she couldn't be rehired, so what I did doesn't count as a breach of contract.”Amelia didn't want to play a word game with him. She said coldly, “let go.”Leo didn't budge.Amelia lowered her head and bit his hand.Leo winced in pain and instinctively let go.Amelia pulled back her wrist and snarled at him, “Touch me again and I will bite you to death.”Leo looked at her for some second, and for some reason instead of getting angry he felt a strange feeling rising in his heart. He said with a stern face, “Amelia you can't beat me.”Amelia snorted coldly, “Whether I can beat you or not we'll only know after we try. Don't worry the press conference was just an appetizer. Many surprises are waiting for y
Liam sighed helplessly. “Okay, I won't scold you anymore.”Ella pouted and glanced at Liam, “But you haven't apologized yet?”After a two-minute stand-off, he gritted his teeth and said, “I'm sorry.”Ella smiled happily, “It's okay.""Liam, actually I'm very curious about that man. Who is he that made Mom love him so much six years ago and also caused the death of our uncle?”Liam's face darkened. “No matter who he is, he is our enemy.”He paused for two seconds and looked at Ella seriously. “Ella remember even if Mom may not meet him as she is back in New York it doesn't mean our grudge with him is over. One day we will avenge our uncle's death and make up for the grievances that mom had suffered. In any case, we must not let this man go unpunished.”Ella nodded heavily while holding her lollipop. “Okay, I agree with you on this.” After a while, she asked again, “So what should we do?”Liam looked at the code on the screen and a cold smile appeared on his face. “Don't worry, I've pr
She was not a fool on the contrary she was very clear about the rules of the market and what customers were thinking. They would use whichever app was more convenient and follow whichever app offered them more discounts. There was no loyalty whatsoever. The performance of “Beauty Clothes” was secondary. The most important thing was that she was afraid that if she would mess up her first task after being transferred. Leo would not trust her in the future. She knew too well about his temperament. In some ways, he was so cold that he would be considered heartless. She had worked hard to come to the headquarters of Reynolds Corporation and couldn't afford to be transferred again without accomplishing anything. With this in mind, Sophia made a call to her secretary.“Help me contact the person in charge of One Closet and tell her that I want to meet her.”Sophia thought that as a high-level executive of Reynolds corporation and the future, Mrs. Reynold the CEO would give her some face.Ho
Leo claimed her mouth in a kiss that was rough and filled with longing, devouring her like a hungry wolf that had been starved for days. Amelia matched his intensity, intertwining her fingers in his hair while moaning between the kisses. His hands moved up her body, exploring every inch as if he had been waiting for this moment forever and had finally gotten the opportunity. She gasped when his fingers brushed her nipple, which was already hard and longing to be licked and devoured by his mouth. She could feel the hardness of his desire pressing against her, only intensifying her own need. “You drive me crazy Amelia Smith,” he murmured against her lips. “I miss you and I don’t want to hold back tonight. I want every part of you baby girl.” “Then don’t hold back,” she quickly replied, her voice barely more than a whisper. “I’m all yours, claim me, Daddy.” Her words made his hormones rise even further. Without breaking the kiss, he hurriedly lifted her and carried her t
The next day, the news spread online that Sophia committed suicide by hanging herself in prison. It felt strange and heavy but for Amelia, it meant a bitter-sweet relief. She woke up with a slight headache, the sunlight streaming through the curtains. Last night memories flooded through her mind—Leo's warm embrace, his apology and reassurance, the soft kiss that stirred long-hidden feelings. Her cheeks warmed and the color turned a shade of pink. She reached out for Leo who was already awake, sitting against the headboard with a look of concern etched on his face. “Morning, beautiful,” he said softly, studying her face for any signs of distress. “Morning,” Amelia replied, blushing and rubbing her temples. “What happened last night? I remember bits and pieces.” That was a lie, she remembered every single detail but just wanted to play innocent. Leo smiled gently. “You had a little too much fun celebrating your aunt's recovery. But it was a good night for us.” Ame
A month later, Aunt Elsa’s condition had stabilized. The surgical wound had nearly healed, and all that was left was some aftercare. Once home, she could take her medication and recuperate slowly without needing further hospitalization. Early that morning, Amelia went to the hospital to handle Aunt Elsa’s discharge procedures. In the hospital room, Aunt Elsa was sitting on the bed, watching TV. Seeing Amelia come in, Aunt Elsa smiled and said, “You’re just in time. Come and see this.” She pointed to the TV. Curious, Amelia looked over and saw the news playing. A familiar face appeared on the screen, and the host’s flat, detached voice filled the room. “Recently, the sensational murder case has concluded. The primary culprit, Sophia Jones, has been found guilty of her crime." "Due to the severity and serial nature of the case, she has been sentenced to life imprisonment.” Amelia blinked rapidly, her thoughts swirling as she tried to process the news. Life imprisonm
That night, Aunt Elsa woke up. Blake checked on her and found her condition better than he had expected. Perhaps Amelia’s persistence had truly moved the heavens, as the cancer cells had cleared, and even the memory loss Blake had anticipated wasn’t present. It all seemed too good to be true. When Amelia heard the news, she was naturally overjoyed. Leo also heard about Elsa’s successful surgery. He didn’t say much, but that night, he quietly ordered the kitchen to prepare a few extra dishes, silently celebrating Elsa’s recovery. Amelia had agreed to marry Leo to secure Blake’s help for Aunt Elsa. Now that Aunt Elsa was nearly healed, Amelia realized her relationship with Leo was a temporary fix. She knew she had to find a way to completely cut ties with him. That night, Amelia decided to cook a few dishes herself. To prevent anyone from interrupting her plan, she sent the children out with Eleven for the night. Then, she dismissed the household staff Leo had hired for th
As Inspector Ralph led Sophia to the police station, her heart raced with a mix of fear and disbelief.Soon, they arrived, and one of the officers led her into the interrogation room and gestured towards a chair, "Miss Jones, please take a seat. Inspector Ralph will be here shortly."With that he left, leaving her all alone in the room. The cold, bare room did nothing to calm her racing heart it only made her heart beat faster with each passing second. The walls were painted a dull gray, and the only light was a flickering fluorescent bulb that buzzed overhead. The smell of cleaning products filled the air, making her even more anxious. She never imagined that one day she would end up in this kind of situation. She stood up to reduce the pacing of her heart and her trembling fingers.Soon, the door opened and Inspector Ralph walked in. Sophia sat down, trying to stay calm and composed. "What kind of nightmare is this?" She thought. "Can I wake up already?" She pinched herself and
She said in a calm voice, “You didn’t do anything wrong, and I don’t need your apology.” Once, those words had been what she wanted most, but now they meant nothing to her. The bitterness of the past clung to her like a heavy fog. She’d never considered forgiving him, so how could she accept it? After Amelia finished speaking, Leo felt a tightening in his chest. He ran a hand through his hair, frustration coursing through him as he processed the weight of her words. “Don’t say that. We were all kept in the dark before. Now that the truth is out, you know I didn’t do those things on purpose, right?” he said quickly, his voice rising slightly. Amelia sneered. “Yes, you didn’t do it on purpose, but can the pain I suffered over the years be forgotten? Leo, you didn’t personally send someone to kill us, but back then, you did divorce me because of Sophia, didn’t you?” “I can’t hate you, but I can never forgive you. We can’t pretend those years never happened. Neither you nor I c
The sentence made both Amelia and Leo furrow their brows. They exchanged curious glances, wondering what could prompt Black Cobra to say such a thing. Leo’s gaze hardened as he made a decision. “Pardon the living, punish the dead.” With those words, he signaled his agreement to Black Cobra’s condition. Black Cobra breathed a sigh of relief. At least he had a chance to keep living to protect his family. He knew his death would endanger their lives, and he couldn’t risk it. He then revealed the secret he’d been hiding. “The accident that led to your best friend Damien's death had nothing to do with Amelia. She wasn't the one responsible." The revelation left them both stunned. Relief washed over Amelia. Damien’s death had nothing to do with her; while surprising, Black Cobra’s words intrigued her even more. Still, she was curious to know who had caused the accident that led to Damien's death and why they’d framed her. With questions swirling in her mind, she looked at
After getting out of the car, James opened the door, and they walked into the building. As soon as they entered, Amelia’s first impression was the smell of blood. The lights turned on, revealing a man lying on the marble floor of the living room, covered in blood. His hair clung together with sweat and blood, and both of his hands hung limply, possibly broken. His legs twisted in an unnatural position, making him look grotesque. Amelia felt as if she had seen him from somewhere. Leo gestured to James, who stepped forward and brushed away the hair covering the man’s face, revealing the person who had kidnapped her before. “How did he end up here?” Amelia asked in disbelief. Leo glanced at her. “What do you think?” It suddenly dawned on Amelia that Leo’s promise of a show tonight referred to this. Her eyes turned cold. She wasn’t a saint and wouldn’t sympathize with someone who had tried to harm her. “Who sent you to kidnap me?” she asked, her voice icy. Black Cobra had
On the ground, lay a mobile phone from which Sophia's voice echoed. “Have you taken action? This is your last chance Cobra, I won’t allow any more mistakes,” Sophia said sharply. Black Cobra replied coldly, “Don’t worry. This time, either she dies or I perish.” After several failures, Black Cobra’s patience had worn completely thin. Combined with Sophia’s relentless pursuit and threats, he felt trapped with no way out. He knew that failure was not an option this time, the future of his family hung in the balance, and the pressure weighed heavily on him. After speaking, Black Cobra picked up the sniper rifle. He believed that as long as Amelia dared to come out, he could kill her. Even if he was caught afterward, he would not regret it. Sophia listened to the commotion on the other end and breathed a sigh of relief before hanging up the phone. Meanwhile, at Wilson’s Domestic Group, Amelia was about to leave the office when her assistant informed her of Leo’s presence in t
