Chapter 2

Ohio enters into the pack staggering, he kept walking like one who had really been attacked by some dangerous rogues. Fear grips all who saw him approaching , they all rushed out to find out what had happened to Ohio ,noticing that the Alpha wasn't with him.

Everyone knew that Malvin had left with Ohio ,so seeing just Ohio in that state was very scaring.

"Where is the Alpha ",many muttered among themselves .

They were all aware the Alpha had left with Ohio for his training, "why does he have the Alpha's clothes covered with blood? " all kept talking asking questions in a devastated manner at the pack.

"The Alpha and I were attacked by some dangerous rouges",Ohio managed to say, shivering and pretending to be hurt and pained.

He crashes himself to the ground and some try getting hold of him from falling.

"These are the clothes of the Alpha , I managed to get them after the rogue stripped him naked and took his dead body away", Ohio said.

The Luna who had been inside ,she quickly rushed out after being told that her mate was attacked together with his Beta.

"Where is my Malvin"? she sobs , holding the stained clothes very close to her bossom. Some try getting hold of her and calming her down as she kept rolling her self on the ground.

They promise to investigate the case and find out the evil rogues that had attacked and killed their leader. This has never been heard of in their pack, yes, they were strong and controlled their territory ,but they had never lost a leader to rogues in such a painful way.

Their leaders never attacked rogues but allowed them go about their business as long as they didn't constitute nuisance around the pack. They had never had problems with any rogue before, so why would some rogues ,go to the extent of killing their leader.

Some knew something was fishy about the Beta's confession but no one dared speak up. They all feared the Beta , because of his strong nature. The Luna cried bitterly for her lost mate and had so many consolers. She had just bounded with him and felt their love was going to last forever.

She loved her mate and he loved her equally. He had promised to build her a castle and make her life as beautiful as a Lily.

" Where are your promises",she wept hard. People loved the Alpha, he wasn't just a leader but he was kind hearted and free to everyone , he never wanted his people to feel disrespected or lacking in any aspect. He reached out to all and maintained peace.

Now who was going to suceed him , this meant that the lineage of the Alpha had been cut short, this alone pained so many people and left them with so much pity for his Luna. They all knew there was fire on the mountain. The Beta was going to take over the leadership of the pack and he is a very hard nut to crack.

He always punished people unnecessary and made things difficult when given the chance. He was going to take over and punish each and everyone of them the way he wanted .This was the fear of so many people at the pack.

The Luna went mourning for her Alpha and the pack decides on choosing a new Alpha to led them . Ohio becomes very happy knowing that the leadership was going to be passed down to him .

After all the Alpha has no heir ,so he was going to assume the post of the packs leader. He thought about taking over the position of the Alpha and the respect it was going to fetch him, he would have full charge over Maria and mate with her.

He was sure she wouldn't turn him down, mating her was like him doing her a favour. The people decide on going in search of their Alpha's body before crowning a new leader. Ohio takes them to the place of incident, but they only get to see blood stains all over , without the trace of Malvin's body.

They all return in disappoinment and tears.

" Whoever did this to them never meant well" , they muttered among themselves. It was late that night, someone screamed, they all rushed to know what had happened .

They saw the dead body of Malvin , the water had swept it out to the river bank.

The guards were ordered to lift the body and take it into the pack. The night had turned to a night if sorrow. They all surrounded the dead body of the Alpha and mourned his demise. Maria was very emotional and it was almost impossible to control her .

She held unto his hands which were as cold as and cried for him to return. Ohio finally came in and joined in the mourning, he was very satisfied at the turn out of events ,but tried his best to be unhappy. Malvin was buried that night and all went back to their various homes .

Maria was awake all night , she couldn't sleep ,the cold hands of death had taken away her mate, the one she truely loved and wished to spend her forever with. She thought about her next step and how she was going to fed from that day onwards. Watching the moon and counting the stars which were all out and bright she felt very unease immediately.

She had hot drips of sweat fall from her face and wondered what this was, she immediately cleans off the sweat ,but her stomach started hurting. She quickly manages to get up but gets a hook on her abdomen, immediately she throws up. She wasn't feeling sick before ,but was surprised at the sudden change of her system.

Maybe this happened because she had been mourning her mate who had just died. She managed to get herself together and cleaned up the mess. She knew she had to take some medicine in other to stop the illness from taking her life too, so she decided to see her doctor at day break for a checkup and prescription of medicine for her health.

She called on her maid to get her some water, which she used in washing off her face . She knew all wasn't well with her at all, but she had to manage the situation for the night.
