66: CRISIS

Simon slowly opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling for a while before turning his head calmly to Asher who happened to walk into the room at that exact minute, the bandage on Asher’s head was now gone and replaced with a small plaster, as was the neck brace on Simon’s neck.

"How was it?" He asked and Asher beamed.

"It was successful." He replied and Simon sighed heavily, swallowed, and returned his gaze to the spot on the white ceiling that his eyes seemed glued to.

While it was good news that the spinal surgery had been carried out successfully, it still seemed too good to be true to him.

The first thing he had done three days ago, was to convince Alvira that he needed to be discharged the day after as he claimed he had to make a trip to a meeting the day after and also that he would be gone for a while. Even though she had complained that he needed to rest more at this hospital, she still had no choice but to agree to let him get discharged from the hospital. He had gone home
