Zelda POV’s
It was time for breakfast and the maid led me towards the dining room. To be honest, I have been on my toes when I heard about my new brothers. I wondered how they would look like and how they were going to treat me.Would they accept me just like their father or would they ignore me seeing their father married my mom barely a week after their mother's death?I was still deep in thoughts when I got to the dining room. I felt my heart pacing in a fast-paced rhyming pattern. My wolf which had remain silent since we moved here sprang out. It howled loudly in my head, calling out something that felt surreal. My eyes moved all over the place until it began to rest on the faces of the most handsome young men I had ever met. Cold, hot and lively personalities filled the air.Wait.... it couldn't be what I was thinking, was it?"Mate!" I and the triplets screamed as we stared at each other with our mouths widely opened.Silence lurked around the dining room, shocked expressions on everyone's face. The Lycan King and my Mum wasn't left out either. It was definitely what I was thinking! Here I was, in my room about to have my meal when the Lycan King decided to introduce his triplets to me and my Mum. He suggested we all had dinner so we would all eat together as a family. But this was the result of it...I still can't believe they were all my mates! It wasn't just one of them, but the trio is my mate! How? Why? How's this possible? I have never heard or seen anyone having three mates before, so why was mine different?I know I have been hoping for my mate to find me for some years now, but I didn't expect him to be the Lycan sons. For one they were royalty and way about my level."What's going on here?" The Lycan King asked, after a deep moment of silent."Dad, she's my mate," One of the triplets said."Aiden, how's that possible? Your brothers also think she's their mate," He said and Aiden scoffed."She's also my mate!" Aiden's brothers said at the same time. Leaving me in total confusion because I didn't know how to feel it react at the moment."Zelda dear, are they your mate? Do you feel the mate bond for the triplets?" My mum asked, looking at me softly. At this time, my eyes were already heavy. Wet and hot tears were already in my eyes. Confusion was an understatement for all this."I think so, Mum," I mumbled, picking my nails."How do you feel towards them dear? Can you explain? Or is it for just one of the triplets?" She asked again."I feel drawn to the triplets Mum, I feel like holding and hugging them all," I replied, finally I broke down, all this was wagging me down, I felt crazy and insane. My mum immediately stood and she rushed to me and she embraced me."It'll be fine Zelda, you'll be fine dear," She said and I hugged her back."Aiden, Alax, Alaric, we have to sort everything out first, for now you shouldn't get close to her, or try to do anything stupid," The Lycan King said, not wanting to hurt me."But Dad! That's impossible! How can you just ask me to do such a thing? You know I can't stay away from my mate!' Aiden half yelled."She's not just your mate Aiden, she's also your brother, so please do not try to do anything stupid and just accept my decisions," The Lycan King replied."Dad I'm not doing this, she's mine!" He growled and I flinched. The way he said I was his left a tingling feeling in my belly."Shut up man, she's my mate too!" The other twin said."Ajax don't speak to your brother like that," The Lycan King said, then I guess the quiet one is Alaric."Why? He's saying trash and I had to stop him," Ajax replied."I am your older brother Ajax, I deserve your respect," Aiden fired."Older brother? With just two minutes? I thought you were more than that," Ajax retorted. Is this what I'll have to face being their mate? The thought of this scared me, I had to hold on tight to my Mum, she's the only one who could protect me from them."You scumbag! How..""You guys should stop! Stop it now!" The Lycan King yelled, and total silence befell us."How do you think your mate would feel? Seeing you guys behave this way in front of her? You're making her scared," He said and I slowly tried to peek at them. But my eyes immediately went into that of Alaric who has been quiet all this while.I was expecting a warm smile from him, but I was wrong. He glared at me angrily and he looked away.I swear I felt like peeing on my body the moment he did that. This wasn't what I bargained for. I thought all mates were in love with each other? I guessed I was wrong."You're talking about her happiness? How do you think she'd feel if we were avoiding her?" Aiden asked, he didn't fail to show his displeasure, even though his brothers weren't saying anything."Dad, I've been waiting for my mate for twenty long years, and now that I've seen her, you're asking me to stay away? No I won't do that," Ajax interfered. But Alaric acted like though all this was none of his business."If you're talking about her safety and mental health, I have it covered, she'd be fine with me," Aiden added, not noticing the angry expression on his father's face."I'm done with this discussion kids, no one is allowed to mark her, or even be close to her, not until all this is sorted out," He said and he stood up."Dad you should ask me what we want, do not try to make decisions for me, because I know what I want," Aiden said challenging his father."I'm going to mark her and you won't do anything about it!" He yelled."I dare you!" The Lycan King growled, rising the tension among us."I'll see you later dear," My mum said and she went with the Lycan King. Leaving me alone to face my mate who I didn't have the guts to look at."Dad!" Aiden hissed, but the Lycan King was already gone."I expected more from you Aiden. Can't believe you're challenging Dad for this girl," Alaric said, emphasis on 'This girl'"She's our mate Alaric, you should have at least said something to Dad," Ajax said and Alaric scoffed."I'll be the last person to challenge Dad for a girl, wise up man, don't be stupid like Aiden," Alaric said with a punch."You're insane," Ajax replied then he left."Not now Alaric," Aiden glared and he also left.I would be lieing if I said I'm not scared, staying alone with Alaric."You!" He called as he walked towards me, while moved back in fright, hoping he'd just go back like the rest. But he didn't until I was trapped between the walls."Still want to run? Run then! But you should know that you're getting yourself into hell, somewhere you can't escape from," He smirked then he tapped my cheek and he left.I exhaled, trying to stable the breathe I was holding."What the hell have I gotten myself into?" I asked no one in particular.Zelda POV’sTwo weeks later…For the past weeks, there had been lots of drama lately around me and the triplets. But I tried to get away from all of them at the best possible way. I didn't want their troubles.I woke up late at night and felt like speaking with my mother. My eyes darted around the room, trying to locate my mum’s room. I know she was somewhere nearby, but I couldn't pinpoint her exact location. I felt a growing sense of frustration and anxiety, as the minutes ticked by and I still couldn't find her. My heart began to race, and I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself.I didn't want to end up running into the triplets because we've been avoiding ourselves just as the Lycan king said. Except for Aiden who's been trying to disobey orders. My mum and I have been pretty much close since she was the only one I knew in here, though she usually comes to my room, but she hasn't been to my room for a day now and I'm worried. And I know she isn't with me because the Lycan Kin
Zelda POV'sMonths later…It has been a hectic month for us all, since the Lycan King has been terribly sick which also affected my mum, I guess it was because of the mate bond.My triplets mate wasn't actually showing any attention towards me, it was all about their sick Dad. I and the rest were cool, except for Alaric who loathed me, the same person who took my virginity though he refused to mark me.It was a bitter sweet experience for me, though I could still recall the words he said to me which brought shivers down my spine."This should be between us Zelda, the moment you tell anyone about this. I'll kill you,"His words rang severally in my head, and for months I couldn't tell anyone, I was afraid of telling anyone so I just let it sink in.I was actually in my room when the guards started playing drums. From my own understanding any time this occurs, it means a great person has fallen."Who could it be?" I was still thinking when I heard a loud howl. I knew who had that voice.
Zelda POV's I sat in my room as I began to panic. I didn't know why but I was worried about what had happened to Ajax, and I was afraid for his safety. Suddenly I heard a commotion outside, and I rushed to the window. I saw Ajax being released from the guards' grasp, looking disheveled and angry. I knew Aiden must have tortured him, but I couldn't bring myself to hate him.I smiled knowing Alax was alive and well, and I breathed a sigh of relief. But my relief was short-lived, as I knew that the conflict was far from over.Suddenly I and Ajax’s eyes met, and we shared a look that said more than words could ever. There was understanding there, and a bit of forgiveness. We both knew that the events of the day had been difficult, but we were both willing to put the past behind them. A flicker of hope sparked in my heart, and I felt a sense of peace wash over me. But I knew that there was still much to be done before things could be truly right again.Suddenly I was startled to hear Aj
Zelda’s POVWith Ajax gone, I remained in the palace with Alaric, who I still have no idea why he loathes me despite being my mate. And Aiden? That one walks around the palace in victory. Victory of whatever battle he thought he had won.I opened my window to stare at the empty garden of the palace as I let out a heavy sigh. I thought about what was to come and I can't help but miss my mom more than ever. I could really use her guidance right now."Mom… I miss you… miss you more than ever," I gushed out in pains, kept deep in my heart. I have become more lonely with each passing day, and the fact that I have no one to share my worries and fears with makes the palace feel less like home.Should I move out? Can I bear the separation from my mates?I was lying on my bed, facing the wall of the room. I kept thinking of Ajax, wondering where he could be and what he was doing now. I wonder if he thought about me like I do and if he was ever going to come back for me like he promised. "How
Zelda’s POVI stared at him, my eyes searching his face for an explanation. His gaze was unwavering, his expression calm and confident. I couldn't help but notice the way the light played across his features, highlighting the planes of his face. The longer I looked at him, the more aware I became of my surroundings. The air was thick with anticipation, and I could feel my pulse quickening in response."What's going through your mind right now?" he asked, his voice low and husky.I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out.I knew I needed to put as much distance as possible between us, but I couldn't seem to make my feet move. My thoughts were racing, my mind spinning in circles. I was caught in a storm of indecision, paralyzed by my fear and uncertainty. What if I ran and he followed me? What if I never escaped his clutches? I felt trapped, my mind and body frozen in place. The silence stretched on until it felt like it would swallow me whole. I had to do something, anything, t
My heart quickened its pace, pounding in my chest as if trying to escape the confines of my ribcage. Each breath felt shallow, and a lump formed in my throat, making it difficult to find my voice. The sudden arrival of the person filled the room with an aura of mystery, their intentions hidden behind the mask of a closed door. My mind raced with questions, and the fear of the unknown gripped me tightly. I felt like a vulnerable prey, aware that any wrong move could invite danger."You could at least show yourself! Hiding in the shadows wouldn't make you any scarier than you already are," I said, getting fed up with the fear eating me up.At that moment, the door became a barrier—a thin veil that separated me from whoever was at the other end and yet, it felt like a barricade protecting me.As the seconds turned into minutes, the tension in the air grew thicker, almost palpable. I felt like a deer caught in headlights, unable to move, speak, or discern the person's true intentions. In
Zelda's pov Yes, I needed to see him to clarify the issue in my heart. Sometimes, I wonder if there was a meaning to what the moon goddess was doing to me.Why would I have three mates? How can I know who my heart actually beat for? By the way, my heart beats for them all but then I feel there would be someone who should be the 'actual one'. As I walked down the corridor, my heart was beating fast, again. I wasn’t sure if it was right to go inside his room but I had no choice. I needed to meet him and confront him in my way. Not just him but also, confront my heart's feeling for him. The walk through the hall was gloomy and the light was dimmed which made the path dark, I finally made it to the front of his door and I sighed audibly. I could feel my legs wobbling in... fear? I don't think so.It wasn't Alaric. Alone him can make me afraid yet yearn for him too. "This is it, Zee" I encouraged myself. The decision to enter this room had been made with a certain spontaneity, a willin
Aiden's POVWas she joking with me? Or did she think she has a choice? I wanted nothing than to mould those luscious lips so they could shut the fuck up. The moment hung in the air like a suspended breath, a profound stillness that belied the seismic shift that was about to unfold. For so long, I had held the belief that I could shape her destiny and that my decisions would be the guiding force in her life. But now, as her gaze met mine with unwavering resolve, I felt the ground beneath me tremble, and the certainty I once clung to began to unravel.A rush of emotions surged within me, a tidal wave of surprise, disbelief, and a hint of admiration. It was as if I had encountered a force of nature, an unexpected tempest that threatened to upend the carefully laid plans I had constructed."Feisty, right?" I asked, smirking as I walked closer to her. I wanted to shut that mouth up, seriously."I love feisty, Zel..." I added, licking my lips. I watched her gulping and I smelled her arous
Zelda’s POV Noel exited the room and I looked at Alaric, who was now looking me straight in the eye.“I will be in my room,” I said and slowly walked away, but he was following me and just when I held the door knob to enter my room, he held me back. “You just publicly chose me in front of everyone, you don’t think I’m just going to let you go into your room, right?” He asked as I turned around to look at him. Before I could say anything else, he pushed me inside the room and pushed me to the bed. He suddenly looked like a beast ready to devour me whole, and that excites me. He pulled down his trousers and I looked in between his legs with my eyes open, but I instantly pulled myself together. “You want me now after how badly you have treated me?” I said while sitting up, as I tried hard to stop myself from jumping on him that instant.“You don’t want me?” He asked seductively, and I smiled mischievously.I gestured for him to join me in bed, and he looked at me for a while before
Noel’s POV I opened my eyes and everything that had happened felt like a dream except for the pain that I felt as I watched my father lifeless on the floor. I took a deep breath and stood up to start the day, my dad had always said that dying at his age was no big deal, and I knew it was time I took his words seriously. But now I have no real family and I felt more lost than ever, I decided to go meet the people close enough to be called family. I met a guard on my way, and he handed me a letter that was meant for the princes. “There is a letter for you three,” I informed them as I sat beside Zelda. I handed it over to Alaric and he opened it. “What does it say?” I asked him, but he didn’t say a word and just handed the letter back to me. I cleared my throat after reading it. “Well, it seems like the king left his son one last gift.” I declared. “What do you mean?” Ajax asked. “A solution to the bizarre situation of sharing a mate. Turns out it was quite an easy one.” I expl
Alaric's POV.My body and head were definitely not ready for what has just been happening since. “How in the world is Zelda and missing? Noel too?” I thought to myself, completely dejected.Ajax suddenly sighed loudly and that caught my attention.“What is it?” I asked, red-eyed at this moment.“I know who took Zelda and Noel.” Ajax suddenly declared. With my head on my hands, and me being in deep thought, I had not been a part of the conversation that was going on.“Not when I finally told her my feelings. Not now.” I kept thinking.I felt it was my fault in a way, but I couldn't decipher how.I suddenly stood up from my seat and darted towards Ajax, ripping the letter away from his hand and reading its content. Apparently, our mother had known that the king was going to die, and she had a list of suspects mentioned in her letter. There were two critical pieces of information in her letter.
Ajax’s POV I couldn’t believe my eyes, I didn’t understand what was going through my mind as I watched Zelda and Alaric trying to put on their clothes. I exited the room unable to say a word, I had no idea what to do or where to go. I saw Alaric approaching me and a part of me wanted to walk away again, but I remained still. “I’m sorry, Ajax.” He said softly.“For what?” I snapped at him. “For everything.” He whispered. “No, Alaric. You are saying the wrong words. What I want from you is an explanation of what I just witnessed.” I replied angrily as I tried hard to stop myself from punching him.“I love Zelda.” He confessed. I was dumbfounded by his words.“Since when?” I questioned further. “From the very beginning.” He said gently. “You are nothing but a hypocrite.” I scoffed. He looked at me with his eyes full of sadness. “Aiden and I must’ve looked like
Alaric’s POV “Uncle Jamie?” I said to myself. I looked at Aiden and then Ajax, and they had the same horrifying look on their faces. “Uncle Jamie! We weren’t expecting you.” Aiden blurted out. “Well, I heard there was a problem within the council and as the only elder in the royal family I thought it was about time I stepped in.” He calmly explained as he sat on one of the empty chairs.“I’m glad you are here my lord, the young princes seem to be forgetting how things work, I think they require enlightenment.” Lord Thomas informed Uncle Jamie confidently. “None of you can sit on that throne without the approval of the council.” He stated clearly. “Not when their claims sound like an excuse to prevent any of us from being the king,” Aiden said with anger in his voice. “You will have no choice but to listen to them, unless you want to be a king with no subjects.” He threatened. It was cl
Ajax’s POV Coming out of Zelda’s room, I saw Aiden, I instantly concealed my sad expression as I wouldn’t want to give any privilege to tease me. I extended my hand for a handshake and just like I expected, he was taken aback by my gesture. “May the best man win.” I declared and walked away feeling a bit satisfied. The next morning…Jonathan, Connor, and I were already waiting for Zelda at the entrance of the palace. “You said you were going to show us around the town, but you somehow turned into a date with your mate.” Connor sarcastically complained. “Are we supposed to give you two some space when we are out?” Jonathan teased. “You two! Cut it out. She will be here any moment.” I cautioned them. “Was this your plan all along? To use us as an excuse?” Connor accused. I didn’t say anything, but instead, I was just smiling at his silly reaction. “I suddenly don’t fe
SIMONE'S POV.I must have wandered for days, just waiting for the earth to take me and put me out of my misery. I had run away from the only home I had ever known due to the incessant crisis in my community. I had lost my brother and my mother. And I got separated from my father, and now I am all alone.I wandered into this country with no hope and no property to my name. And since I knew no one, it was hard for me to plant my roots.Just as I was about to give up hope, I stumbled to a large gate. It looked like the owner of the building was very influential, and I was determined to plead my case before them.I knocked on the gate and I was immediately accosted by some men who looked like they were guarding the place. I got scared and cowered in fear, but I was determined.“Who are you and what are you doing here?” The plump and most gentle among them asked me.I was too tired and hungry to give him an answer. And so I
Aiden's POV.“Where are we heading to, Noel?” I asked as she kept walking ahead, sounding all giddy.“Don't you trust me, Aiden?” She asked, teasingly.“I do… but,” I said before she cut me short.“Don't be scared. I just want to show you something.” She declared, finally putting my fear to rest.“We are here!.” She exclaimed, shrieking as she spoke.I looked around and sure enough, it was a place in the palace no one had visited in a long time. The Queen's Garden.Being here brought about a flood of emotions and memories of my mother, the late queen. A cold chill of air suddenly ran down my spine as my hair stood on its end.“You can almost feel her presence, can't you?” Noel questioned, shuddering in between her questions.“Why'd you bring me here, Noel?” I inquired, a stern look on my face.Coming here was just too sad for any of us, and so we avoided it like a plague. Though, when
Corey’s POV “Did you get the book?” Lord Jamie asked immediately after I entered the room, I could sense his impatience and without further delay, I handed the book and the journal to him. “And the man?” He inquired as he dropped the book on the table. “You have nothing to worry about, my lord, he has been taken care of,” I assured him. “Good, make sure you deliver his reward to his family. I did make a promise after all.” He said and I nodded. “But make sure you are discreet about it.” He added. He picked the book up and flipped a few pages as he hummed to himself, I watched him carefully, waiting to be enlightened by his next move. He dropped the book and picked up the journal, he opened the journal and stared at the blank space for some seconds. “What do you intend to do with an empty journal?” I asked, unable to contain my curiosity. “I’m going to read it.” He replied with a misch
