Bella couldn't believe her eyes. She was really done for. She had mistakenly revealed to Aiden that her mission was to kill Aiden. She had totally showed her displeasure and disdain towards the alpha in front of him.

Or maybe she hadn't. It was only subtle right? No one would have thought a lady would want to do that?

He would only be thinking that she wanted to secretly enter his chambers and seduce her. He wouldn't even recognize her by now? She tried hard to convince herself.

"What's wrong, Bella?." Max asked, sounding worried.

She almost jumped at the sound of his voice. She had completely forgotten that she wasn't alone.

"Do you know Alpha Aiden?"

Bella tensed. She must have said everything out loud and now she realized Max seemed to be interested in knowing. And Max would always get her to spill things even against her wish. To make it worse, she had no idea what exactly she had said out loud.

"Uhm---I don't know him. How would I?"

"Really?" He sounded like he doubted her, but decided not to push it.

Bella looked at Aiden again only to find out that he was looking straight at her, or so she thought. His eyes sparkled with an intensity that was very scary.

She felt like his gaze could see right through her, to the darkest part of her soul. His eyes were looking far more dangerous that when she had first met him. It was like the last embers of a fire, yet dark and cold like a winter's night.

Aiden suddenly started moving towards her direction, with a number of guards following closely behind him. She wished she could just disappear or the earth could just open up and swallow her.

Aiden was very close to her now. Then an idea popped up in her head. She would make the first move even before him and confuse him.

There was slim chance he might not really recognize her, but if she tried to run away or act suspicious, he would be sure it was her.

As Aiden approached her, Bella felt her heart thud very hard in her chest and a slight chill rippled through her. Surprisingly, he wasn't even looking at her now. A very beautiful lady at her back seemed to have attracted the alpha's attention.

No! She couldn't let that happen! If she lost this chance today, she might never get a chance to get her revenge on Aiden. She had to be alone with him tonight by all means.

As he was about to walk past her, she grabbed his cloth and pretended to trip. He reached out instinctively and caught her in his arms. She touched his arm to steady herself, looking straight into his eyes.

In that moment when their eyes met, in that second when his hand touched her bare skin, the chill inside her deepened. She wasn't sure if it was due to fear or sexual excitement. Anyone it is, she didn't want to feel this way towards him.

Alright, maybe he was the most handsome guy she had ever seen, yet her body shouldn't be reacting this way to a monster like him.

Aiden looked at her in a very unsettling way that made Ariel start jumping in her head with excitement. She suddenly felt a surge of anger towards Ariel for acting this way. She waved that off and focused on the importance one.

Did he recognize her? Or did she catch his fancy? She wondered but couldn't quite decipher his expression. It was like a blank sheet covered his face.

The guards behind him already had their swords out and pointed at her. Her heart beat faster, waiting for whatever Aiden was going to do. She steeled herself, preparing for the worst.

She took a deep breath,and bow her head a little. "I'm so sorry, Alpha."

He signalled to the guards to stand down. "What's your name?" He asked, his face expressionless as he looked at her.

Bursted! Bella said in her head. If she just open this mouth if hers to say her real name, then she was done for. Then, she couldn't really lie either. That was far too dangerous also. What if Aiden asked about her from her friends?

"Anna" she replied quietly.

Well, that wasn't completely a lie. It was still her name. There's is no much difference. It was just the beginning of her name, Annabella.

Aiden raised his eyebrows. "You look familiar. Have we met?"

"No!" Bella said firmly, almost screaming.

She looked up at him, inwardly begging her face not to give her away. He scanned her face and for a moment she thought she saw a flicker of recognition in his eyes. But she quickly dismissed the thought.

Suddenly, he held her by the hand and took her to the front. "The selection is hereby cancelled. I choose her!"

Bella pretended to be surprised as she looked at Max who was already smiling at her and clapping. He seemed to be so happy that his friend was picked by the alpha. If only he knew her plans.

The people screamed and clapped while some girls murmured. Bella knew exactly what she had to do. If she accepted so easily, Aiden would definitely sense something off and suspect her.

"Uhm--- alpha Aiden, i----" she began, pretending to stutter.

"Do we have a problem?" His voice was so stern.

Bella lowered her head. " Well, I actually don't think I have the ability to entertain you, sir."

"Right?" Aiden said as he gave her a rundown look, his eyes lingering on her breast. "Well, you don't have much of a choice here, do you?"

"My wish is your command. You don't get to have a say in this!" He beckoned to his guards. "Bring her into my chambers now!"

Bella had a mischievous smirk on her face as the guards dropped her off in front of where she guessed was Aiden's room. She knocked gently on the door.

"It's me, Be--- Anna." She said, covering her mouth at how close she was to slipping up.

"Fuck! That was so close!" She murmured under her breath.

The door opened as if by itself. "Come in." Aiden said from inside the room.

She entered and Aiden stood from the bed to lock the door. He still had his full cloth on. Does he really want her to entertain him or it was for another reason. Well, she brushed the thought away.

"So you thought I would forget such a pretty face like yours? Huh, Bella?" He said as a mischievous smirk crept onto his face.

She almost jumped when she heard her name on his lips. What! He actually recognized her face!? He didn't even forget her name. Gosh! Was that why he chose her? So he could get a chance to kill her!?
