What does he want now?

Gwen didn't answer the old man's question; she was busy thinking of an excuse. Mr. Charles barged into the room, his actions making Gwen feel even more confused and at a loss.

"Did he tell you where he was going?" he asked. Gwen shook her head briefly. Mr. Charles sighed deeply, feeling that his grandson hadn't changed yet. "Be patient, I'm sure Dominic will change and become a better husband for you."

Gwen smiled and nodded. She thought Dominic's grandfather would leave the room, but it seemed he wanted to wait for his grandson to return. She took out her phone and sent Dominic a message, but he hadn't taken his phone with him. Neither she nor Mr. Charles could reach him.

After ten minutes of waiting, Mr. Charles grew bored. "I'll have my people look for him; you just wait here," the old man said.

"There's no need, Grandpa. I think he just went out to get some fresh air nearby," Gwen replied, not wanting to involve others in her problem with Dominic.

"It's not right for him to leave right after your wedding," Mr. Charles insisted, walking out of Dominic's room.

"I understand, Grandpa. Thank you very much," Gwen said, flashing another smile.

Mr. Charles then excused himself from his beautiful granddaughter-in-law. As he turned around, he saw a man walking toward him from a distance, carrying several packages.

"Where has he been?" the old man muttered.

"Why are you here, Grandpa?" Dominic asked.

"Where have you been? You left your wife right after the wedding," Mr. Charles scolded his only grandson.

"I went to get food. I knew my wife would be hungry, so I bought some food downstairs," Dominic answered convincingly.

"Don't lie to me. Your wife didn't even know where you went. You must be making this up," Mr. Charles said, skeptical.

"It's a surprise for my wife. I went without telling anyone and came back with food for both of us," Dominic continued with his fabricated story.

Mr. Charles rolled his eyes, not believing his grandson had changed so drastically and lied to him. "Fine, as long as you're back with your wife."

Dominic then asked the reason for his grandfather's visit to his room. It turned out Mr. Charles had gifted them a honeymoon trip to an island, as he had promised Dominic earlier. The assistant would handle their flight tickets and accommodations.

Gwen's sweet smile faded; she didn't seem pleased with Mr. Charles's gift, suspecting it was his way of ensuring she got pregnant.

"Thank you very much, Grandpa. But we haven't planned a honeymoon anytime soon," Dominic politely declined.

"No problem, whenever you're ready to go, the tickets and all your needs will be prepared. But the sooner, the better, to keep the newlywed vibe," Mr. Charles advised.

Dominic glanced at Gwen, and she looked back at him. "Thank you, Grandpa. We'll go when the time is right."

"Gwen, let me know if he leaves again without telling you. Understand?"

"Yes, Grandpa. Thank you very much," Gwen replied.

Mr. Charles left, and the newlyweds were alone in the room. Dominic returned to being cold towards Gwen, but this didn't lessen her curiosity about his idea.

"Is this really food? Where did you buy it?" she asked.

"Open it if you don't believe me," Dominic replied as he climbed onto the bed.

"Were you really hungry?" Gwen asked again.

"No, to be honest, I saw Grandpa walking toward the room. I feared it would be a long conversation, so I made an excuse by buying food from the restaurant downstairs," Dominic explained.

"So you bought this food just to have an excuse for Grandpa?" Gwen asked. "Where did you really go?"

"Not all my business is your concern," Dominic replied when Gwen started probing.

"I need to know so I can answer if Grandpa asks about you, like earlier," Gwen continued. "Or do you want me to tell Grandpa?"

"Not even a day as my wife, and you're already threatening to tell Grandpa," Dominic said, annoyed. Gwen sighed in frustration, packed her clothes, and prepared to move to her own room. Dominic didn't try to stop her from leaving.

Gwen walked to her room with her wedding dress. Luckily, it wasn't too far. In her room, she could do anything, including eating the food her husband had bought while watching TV.

Before leaving Dominic's room, he had told Gwen to take all the food with her. Now Gwen was eating a pack of fried rice with crispy fried chicken, her favorite.

"I'm lucky to get fried chicken, even though I never told him," Gwen muttered as she enjoyed her meal.

While enjoying her second course, a hamburger, there was a knock on her door. Gwen frowned, wondering who it could be. She thought of only one name: Mr. Charles.

The knocking stopped, but then her phone rang. She reached for the black, rectangular device. Dominic's name appeared on the six-inch screen.

"What does he want now?" Gwen thought as she washed her hands before answering the call.

"Why did you take so long to answer?" Dominic's voice came through the phone.

"I was in the bathroom," Gwen lied. "What's up?"

"We need to discuss something serious. We need to compromise. Let me in," Dominic said.

Gwen quickly walked to the door and opened it. Dominic was the one who had knocked. He entered the room and sat on the edge of her bed. Gwen chose to stand in front of the nightstand.

"Tell me quickly, what do we need to discuss?"

"It's about Grandpa. He called me and said he had arranged everything for our honeymoon, including the place, travel tickets, hotel, and all our needs."

"But he mentioned that earlier. Why repeat it?" Gwen asked, confused.

"The problem is, he scheduled our departure for tomorrow morning."

"Tomorrow morning?" Gwen said in disbelief, her hazel eyes widening. "You didn't agree to it, right?"
