“Tomorrow night,” Gwen whispered.
“Tomorrow night?” Dominic repeated his wife's words. “Say that again, I didn't hear it wrong, right? It’s tomorrow night, right?”
“Who said tomorrow night? You misheard,” Gwen lied, trying to retract her words. But Dominic wasn't that easily fooled; he kept pressing her to confirm their plans for that evening.
“Alright, darling, since you mentioned the day after tomorrow, make sure you're ready to pick up our child that night. Don’t even think about avoiding it,” Dominic said as he moved away from his wife and headed into the bathroom.
Now Gwen was left alone, cursing herself. “I should have said next week instead of the day after tomorrow,” she muttered. The beautiful woman buried her face in a pillow, wishing she could take back her words, but it was too late.
