Caraline and Catherine stared at each other hatefully for several seconds. Both women had high egos and high self-esteem, and were unwilling to budge, feeling the most superior and capable.

"You're disgusting," Catherine snapped, rolling her eyes. "If these people knew who you are, they would stay away and sneer at you."

"Don't talk about your ugliness, Catherine," Caraline retorted with a faint smile, "putting me down doesn't make you taller and better than me."

"You're always so good at bragging." Catherine snorted, crossing her arms over her chest.

Wilson just smiled at the argument. He chose not to interfere and let Catherine do as she pleased.

"I know you've always envied me, Catherine." Caraline stroked her left earring. "Is it because I have everything you want?"

"You must be joking." Catherine laughed even as her heart throbbed with pain. Caraline's guess was right on target.
