Chapter 4

Alessia's POV

Anisto is now standing in front of me and he has placed a bottle of medicine made of crystal. That medicine became familiar to me and I remembered it. I saw it was one of the things that Elijah was drinking.

What I do know is that he is taking this medicine to keep his powers from disappearing. There had already been an incident where Elijah's power was lost and almost wiped out the whole of Valeria, or it would be more correct to say the whole of Wysteria. But that was a long time ago and seems to have become a legend.

There are times when Elijah can't control his power and he feels symptoms so he immediately takes medicine to calm him down and also his power.

He is powerful, but it is also a struggle for him to control his power before it controls him.

"His medicine has run out, Ales. I'm afraid that this mission will be a ploy to reawaken his dormant power that can destroy the entire Wysteria. It must be delivered to the dear king as soon as possible." He promised me and there was concern in his voice.

"Is someone going to deliver that medicine?" I asked him worriedly.

Anisto shook his head. "Nobody wants to go to Eleftheria, Ales. I don't know how to send it to the king.

My worry deepened because of that. If we hire a sentinel, it will take us longer. So suddenly I decided what I should do.

"I will deliver, Anisto." I present to him even though my heart is filled with fear.

Anisto frowned and shook his head. "No way, Ales. You're a woman and I can't send you there. You can't protect yourself against the monsters there." Anisto protested and shook his head again.

I understood that he saw me that way because I saw myself that way too. I never thought I could defend myself against the monsters there. Last time in Avalone, it almost killed me. If only Elijah, Sushi, and the sentinels hadn't come. Without them, I might have been buried long ago.

"I know Anisto that I am no match for the monsters in Eleftheria. But I can assure you that they have not yet reached that part. If I leave, I will catch up with them and I will be able to return here before reaching Eleftheria." I convinced him, but even I was not sure. I don't know how fast they and Elijah are running so I can tell that they are not yet in Eleftheria.

Anisto sighed. "Ales, I don't want you to do this. I don't want to put you in danger because I allowed you even though I knew it was dangerous." Drive it.

I shook my head. "It will be more dangerous if no one delivers this to the dear king and awakens whatever is in his will. Not just one will die, but all." I made a heavy promise to him so that he would understand that the life of the many is more important than my life alone.

Anisto sighed again and handed me the bottle containing Elijah's medicine.

"I allow you, but you must return as soon as you have given it to the dear king, is that clear Ales?" He finally promised me that it would sound better.

I nodded. "I'll be right back, Anisto. Thank you for letting me." I replied to him.

"Be careful, Ales. Dustan will take you because you don't know how to ride a horse. You two go back immediately, don't make the mistake of going there with Eleftheria." He asked me and his face was very serious.

"I understand," I answered him and said goodbye to Anisto, and left the hospital room. I am now wearing a white kimono. I didn't have time to change into thicker clothes so I headed out, but I was surprised when Sushi suddenly followed me.

"Mr. Ales! Sushi suddenly came out, I couldn't catch up." Estrebelle was running closer to me and she gasped when she was in front of me.

I now look at Sushi. "Sushi, go back to our room." My order is here.

"Woof! Woof!" He replied that he didn't want to.

I held my breath. I have a feeling that Sushi is worried because I will leave and Elijah will follow them to give him this medicine. I just don't know how he knew that or felt it. But I guess, it's a necromancer's thing that I cannot understand.

"Estrebelle, I'll just take Sushi with me on my trip. Go back inside." I promised him because I know I can't force Sushi.

I saw the surprise on his face because of what I said.

"Where are you going, Mr. Ales?" Estrebelle asked me in surprise while standing straight.

"I have something to deliver to your majesty. We are leaving, Estrebelle." I said goodbye to him because my time was being consumed.

"Go ahead, Mr. Ales. May your journey be safe." He promised me.

I turned around and loaded Sushi. Sushi is small so it won't be difficult for me to carry him. I immediately went to the quadra of the horses and saw Dustan there who was getting ready for our trip.

"Ales." Dustan greeted me with a smile. She was wearing a gray kimono.

"I'm sorry if I bothered you," I promised him as I carried Sushi.

"It's nothing. Mr. Anisto won't allow you to travel alone either." He answered me and looked down at my load of Sushi. "Will you include it?"

I nodded. "Don't want to be left behind," I answered him and turned my eyes to the white horse with a few black markings.

"He probably knew you were going to a dangerous place that's why." Dustan's comment made me look back at him.

"Maybe, that's how it is," I responded to that. I think the same. Sushi is too lazy to come with me if I'm touring the palace. It prefers to sleep all day, but now it wants to come. I saw no reason other than our dangerous destination.

"We're leaving, maybe we'll catch up with them soon," Dustan said and he got on the back of the horse.

He quickly pulled me onto the horse so I was able to get on the back without any difficulty. I was behind Dustan and I held on to his waist and Sushi was between us as if he didn't care what was happening.

"Are you ready?" Dustan asked me so I answered quickly.

"Yes." I gave him a short answer.

So Dustan immediately started the horse we were riding and we went. I didn't say a word, I just looked at what we were going through. Trees are familiar to me. This is where we passed when we first came from Samona. We don't have to go through the city anymore and we can avoid slowing down because there are no immortals here who are doing their thing.

Dustan didn't speak because he was focused on running. It was much faster than I was used to running with Elijah and Stefano.

But I understand why Dustan runs so fast. We need to catch Elijah before they even enter Eleftheria.

We are finally out of Valencia. Now I can see the plains and the crossroads again. We did not take the road to Samona. There are street signs there made of wood and it tells which way to go.

We made our way to Eleftheria. I didn't feel anything strange because we weren't even in Eleftheria. You are still part of Valencia, but not a city anymore.

Eleftheria is also close to Caracass, but Eleftheria is located in a remote area. Judging by the map, I knew we had a long way to go. If we're lucky, we'll catch up with Elijah before they even enter Eleftheria.

"Are you all right there?" Dustan asked me in the middle of his quick run.

"I'm fine," I replied to him while still looking at everything we passed.

But something caught my attention not far from the road, a huge tree with a rather strange leaf. They are like vines with leaves. I see it in shows especially Chinese dramas. I just don't know what it's called. But the tree I see is more unusual because its leaves are red and its body is almost chocolate-colored. It only stands out from the trees surrounding him because the trees there are green.

"What is that red tree?" I couldn't help asking because I wanted to know what it was. Even Sushi who didn't care looked at the tree we were passing by.

"That red tree is a Weeping Willow. That tree is such a sign that even my unborn parents are already there." He answered me.

I was amazed because of what he said. But I wondered why it was called weeping willow. But I seemed to understand as I stared at the tree. Its leaves are like tears, and it is so sad to look at this tree. Unlike other ordinary wood that is fun to look at.

"Weeping Willow? Is it because the tree looks like it's crying?" I will confirm with Dustan.

"No." He immediately answered me. "Because if you go near that tree, you will hear the cries of Wysteria's departed ancestors." He answered me.

"Ancestors?"

"The fairies." He answered me.

I swallowed. I couldn't believe that that beautiful-looking wood had a miracle. Maybe, one day I want to visit this tree, but not right now. There are too many things more important, than going to the Weeping Willow.

We continue our journey and I pray that we can see them in the distance even though I know that is impossible. Dustan and I talk sometimes. We also stop to drink water and water the horse. I didn't bring any food, but Dustan brought fruits so that's what we managed.

Sushi didn't eat, he just sat and didn't care about his surroundings. We had a quick break and resumed our journey.

The day was so long that I felt it was endless. But in the distance, I could see a high mountain whose top I couldn't see. It seems like it's only halfway up, and the way up is already covered by clouds. The cloud around there was also darkened and I could see occasional flashes of lightning in the distance but the sound did not reach where we were standing.

"Is that Eleftheria?" I asked Dustan as I kept my eyes on that big mountain.

"That's Eleftheria, but it's still too far away. You can only see it because that mountain is so big." He answered me.

I noticed that Sushi seemed restless and alert even though he was between us. It's not like before when the horse was just sleeping even when it was running.

I know that Sushi's move is not a good sign, but I pray that nothing bad will happen.

"We still can't see them. They seem to be moving faster than usual." Dustan commented. "We should have caught up with them if they just ran normally.

"Is it possible that they're already in Eleftheria if that's the case?" I asked Dustan nervously.

"I can't answer that, Ales. We'll find out when we reach the mouth of Eleftheria." He answered me which gave me another nervousness.
