Lexie’s POV Emily pulled a vase out of the cabinet for the flowers that Chase had just given me for my birthday and as I filled the vase with water Chase says, “I see I’m not the only one that got you flowers.” As he points to the roses in the vase on the island. Emily then looked at me and I knew what she was thinking because it was the same thing I was thinking. If it wasn’t Chase that sent me the flowers, then it had to have been Tyler. Every inch of my body screamed to run to Tyler and demand that he just give into his desires to be with me, but I knew he would just run away like he always does. I was afraid that I ruined the man in the black mask coming to me again, if it was indeed Tyler. Emily and Eric continued to take the food to the outdoor table leaving Chase and I alone and Chase’s gaze was on me. It was pretty intense like he was wanting to say something to me but didn’t know how to say it. “What is wrong?” I finally asked him. “I just thought we had something between
Tyler’s POV Lexie had disappeared into thin air like she never existed. Something inside of me snapped without her presence and I became unbearable to be around. Even Emily started to pull away from me blaming me for Lexie’s disappearance. My father on the other hand was loving the ruthless man that it made me. I found myself not taking shit from anyone, not even my own brother anymore. I was bound to run his damn company into the ground after the stunt he had pulled on Lexie’s birthday. If he hadn’t shown up, I was sure Lexie would still be here today. I found my hunger had doubled since she left and I found myself having to feed more often but only on blondes that looked like her. For the first few months I would only feed but then I came across a girl that looked just like Lexie and I ordered her every time trying to fill the hunger that I had in Lexie’s absence for her. But even though the girl looked similar, the taste wasn’t the same and it never satisfied me one hundred per
Lexie’s POV “Ms. Thomas the papers you asked for from the meeting.” Mr. Krep said as he entered my office stopping Tyler from once again marking me as his. “Thank you, Mr. Krep.” I said as I moved around Tyler to grab the papers from him. Tyler then turned as Mr. Krep froze and said, “Mr. Conner I am so sorry I didn’t know you were here.” And he lowered his head to him. “Do I know you?” Tyler asked Mr. Krep. “No Sir. I just know who you are. I apologize for interrupting.” Mr. Krep said as he quickly walks out of the room and shuts the door. I turned and looked at Tyler who was at a loss for words for the moment, so I walked over to my desk and I laid the paperwork on it. Finally, Tyler asks, “How many of my kind work for you?” I chuckled and said, “Does it matter? I hire anyone that is willing to work and puts forth the effort. I don’t discriminate because they are like you.” “One of my companies I have an interest in says you are being backed by one of my kind.” Tyler
Tyler’s POV What the hell was I thinking saying that to Lexie of all people. She had disappeared for a reason and that was to get away from me. She clearly wanted nothing to do with me but I couldn't accept the fact that she didn’t want me. I knew myself that this would never work between the two of us but after seeing her I needed to be with her one last time and taste her sweet essence on my tongue once more. Getting up from the table I walked towards her bedroom. I had already scoped the place out before she had come home and in her bedroom I had left her a little surprise. As I walked into the room I could hear Lexie talking to herself in her walk in closest and I moved to it to peer in to see what she was doing. It looked like she was at war with her dress trying to unzip it but it looked like it got stuck in the material and as she fought with trying to get the dress off she was cursing me up one end and down another. Deciding I needed to lend a hand I stepped into the wal
Lexie’s POV My body slumps to the floor as tears fall from my eyes. I knew that I told him to give himself completely to me for one night and he did but after it was over, I couldn't emotionally take the goodbye that was about to come. Being with Tyler and knowing it was really him and feeling his flesh against mine was just too much for me to be able to say goodbye to. The connection we just shared was too much for me to want to let go of but I knew Tyler and he would just walk out the door and never think twice about me again. He would just put up the wall that he has built around his ability to feel. Pulling my knees to my chest as I sat against the door. I let it all out when I heard the door to the house shut and I knew he is gone once again from my life. I have no one to blame but myself for the way I am feeling right now. I thought I was strong enough to handle this but I was so wrong thinking that I could. The pain this time was ten times worse than the last time and I d
Lexie’s POV A knock on my door startled me as I was trying to get myself together after Mr. Himes’s visit. The door opens and Mr. Krep walks in with paperwork from today’s meeting. He looks at me with suspicion before he asks, “Ms. Thomas is everything alright?” Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath and open them before I said, “Everything is good.” Mr. Krep walked over to my desk and laid the paperwork on my desk and then said, “I know I am just an employee but if you need help, I can get you help.” I began to chuckle before I said, “I don’t think you can get me the help I need.” “Ms. Thomas, I know you know about my world and I can clearly tell that you are marked by Mr. Conner and the man that just left your office is no one to mess with.” Mr. Krep tells me and he gets my attention quickly. “Do you know Mr. Himes?” I asked him, hoping he can shed some light on what I am dealing with. “He is not one to mess with. They call him the cleaner and he is called in to take ou
Tyler’s POV “Mr. Daniels I personally went to LT Corporation and there is no wrong being done by one of ours. The company is run by a human and I cannot interfere with their affairs.” I tell Mr. Daniels over the phone. Mr. Daniels had called me first thing this morning after he lost another investor to Lexie. “Then I will take care of the issue myself.” Mr. Daniels tells me and I growl into the phone. “The only thing you will do is try to manage your company better. You will not pursue causing any harm to the human that owns the company and exposing us to the world.” I tell him as I am losing my mind thinking that he was going to cause harm to Lexie. “But my company is failing because of that human. Your father would have taken care of this issue.” Mr. Daniels now says and I can feel my blood begin to boil at the mention of my father. “Let me explain something to you. I am not my father. I run this state as I see fit and until now we have had no issues. Just because your comp
Lexie’s POV It felt strange having two muscular men following me around everywhere I went especially when they were that dang good looking. Joyce, my receptionist, was obviously into the one with the dark hair and I found she would come back to my office more today than ever letting me know information that she would normally tell me over the intercom. I had to laugh when she fanned herself when she came into my office and asked, “How can I get me one of those?” “Well, it only takes being threaten by a vamp assassin to get you one.” I thought in my head before I spoke out loud to her, “Trust me you don’t want to know.” “Seriously though, did you see the muscles on the dark hair one?” Joyce asks and it brings a smile onto my face knowing that Joyce was enjoying my new entourage. “I have seen the muscles.” I told her with a chuckle. “What happened to the third one. You know the one that screamed “rip my clothes off and lick me from head to toe” one.” Joyce asks and as she does
Lexie’s POV One could say I was a bit nervous as I was to say my vows once again. This time things were a bit different than the last time and this time I had my best friend by my side as I waited for the wedding to start. Xavier then entered the room I was waiting in with Emily and quickly moved to her, placing his hand on her now extremely large belly. “How are you feeling?” He asked her concerned that she was ready to pop at any moment. She swatted his hand away and said to him, “I am not having this baby until I see my best friend marry my brother.” Xavier chuckled at her and then gave her a kiss before he turned to me and said, “I am happy for you today and I know that my brother is happy to see you are happy once again too. Tyler and Samuel may not have seen eye to eye on a lot of things, but the one thing that the both of them agreed on was that you were the one for them.” I could feel tears starting to pool behind my lids and Emily says to Xavier, “Get out of here before
Lexie’s POV After my talk with Emily, I headed home to my empty house. Pulling into the driveway with only the motion senser light turning on to my arrival and then opening a locked door with no one waiting on the other side to greet me, made me realize how alone in this world I really was. Laying my purse on the counter I walked over and slumped onto my couch with a million things now running through my head. Maybe Emily shouldn’t have told me about Tyler’s situation, like he asked her not to. I had been fine before all of this. I was beginning to be able to function normally in this world on my own. I was on my way to recovering and now I am sitting here thinking about him, trying to convince myself that I am happy all in this world alone without him. Yes, the last couple months had been rough, but I made it through them without him. I didn’t need him in my life and I was perfectly happy without him in it, I kept telling myself, but my heart began to ache the more I thought ab
Lexie’s POV Today was a huge milestone as it has been two months now on my own without Derrick by my side and I have been taking baby steps daily towards my old lifestyle. Each day has been a challenge for me but I have been trying to be positive moving forward in my life. It has also been months since I have talked to Tyler and I had met up with Lena and Emily a few times for lunch, but Lena seemed a little bit standoffish towards me and I don’t blame her. I knew she and Tyler were trying to make their marriage work even though that is what she had run from in the first place, but I could tell that she had resentment towards me, and I had no clue why. I had stayed away from Tyler not wanting to interfere in their relationship and I thought I was doing the right thing by doing so. Lena was my sister, there was no doubt about that but the two of us had been raised so differently that we really didn’t have much in common, unlike her and Emily. I had been asked many times to go sho
Lexie’s POV I watched as the real Lena walked directly to Tyler wrapping her arms around him and I could see the happiness in her eyes from being with him. It was a happiness that I used to have long ago when the two of us were together. “Lena, I want to introduce your twin sister to you, Lexie.” Tyler said to her and she turned my way like she hadn’t noticed me when she walked up to Tyler. “Wow, Tyler wasn’t kidding when he said we looked identical. I’m sorry where are my manners, it’s a pleasure to finally meet you. You will have to forgive my hesitation to embrace you, after what I have been through with our family. I hope that we can get to know one another, and I can find it in me to trust you. Tyler told me what happened to all of you on the island and I am sorry for your loss.” I knew exactly what she meant by having to find it in her to trust me because I also had the same feeling inside of me after what I had been through. “Don’t feel sorry for the way you feel, I hav
Lexie’s POV It’s now been a month since we returned from Boracay and still no word from Tyler and I am beginning to worry that something has happened to him too. The walls of the packhouse are starting to feel like a prison and I don’t know how much longer I can stay here. The only time I have left the pack lands is when Emily takes me to see a psychiatrist. After one of my breakdowns, Emily decided it would be a good idea to seek help for me with everything I had been through. Of course, the psychiatrist was a wolf and I could talk freely with her about what really happened. At first, we focused on the deaths of the twins and Samuel but then moved on to my fear of people shapeshifting, which seemed to be my biggest fear. Unfortunately, the treatments weren’t working so well and it was due to the amount of trauma I had been through in such a short period of time. I had no clue if I would ever live a normal life after everything I had seen. Derrick was once again assigned to me
Lexie’s POV Today was the second hardest day of my life laying Samuel to rest between his twin brother and our twins. Sophia didn’t blame me for her son’s death but welcomed me with open arms to their family. Even though Samuel’s family held no ill will against me for his death, I still felt the guilt on my shoulders. As Samuel’s celebration of life gathering happens, I sit in the corner of the room with my head down not knowing exactly if I belonged here. Yes, we were celebrating the life he lived and I was certainly a part of that life, but I felt out of place now among the wolves without him by my side. It had been a full week that I have been here at the packhouse and Emily has done her best to be by my side, but I feel so lost being here in Samuel’s room alone. Each day that passes I ask Emily if she has heard anything from Tyler and each day it is the same response of no. I had promised Tyler before I left the island that I would stay at the packhouse for my safety, but th
Lexie’s POV When Tyler and Xavier emerged from the packhouse I thought it was all over with but I was so wrong, by the look on their faces. Quickly, I stood up from the step I was sitting on as they walked towards me. I knew I had to look like a hot mess after all the crying I have been doing but I could care less. “What is it?” I asked them, wanting to know why they had the look on their faces that they had. Tyler shook his head, not able to say what needed to be said, which left Xavier to tell me, “It’s about Lena.” “What about Lena?” I asked him, confused as I looked up at the door to the house like she was going to walk out of it. “That wasn’t Lena I just killed in the house.” Xavier tells me and I furrow my eyebrows at him confused at what he is telling me. “Then who was it?” I asked him wanting to know who it could have possibly had been if it wasn’t Lena. “We don’t know who she was but we know it wasn’t Lena.” Xavier says and I start shaking my head not understand
Lexie’s POV “Derrick, is everyone okay?” I asked him as I looked at the gate to the packhouse. “Lexie, you shouldn’t be here, its not fully secured yet.” Derrick tells me and I begin to worry what is happening behind that broken down gate. “Have they found Xavier?” I asked him, hoping he would at least know that to tell me. “Yes, he was being held in one of the cabins on the property. He is with Tyler and they are securing the area as we speak.” Derrick told me and I felt a bit of relief wash over me but there was still the fact that I hadn’t heard from Samuel yet. “What about Samuel and my family?” I asked him and I noticed a change in his posture when I mentioned Samuel. “Lexie, I think it would be best if Xavier talks to you.” Derrick says to me and the pain that was there last night overtook me and I knew in my heart that it had to do with Samuel. “I want to speak with Xavier now.” I told Derrick and he began to shake his head no to me. Before he could say a word, I
Lexie’s POV It wasn’t quite morning when I heard Tyler’s voice talking to someone and as I listened, I realized that his men had arrived. Rolling over in the bed I watched him as he was giving the man on the other end of the line orders. He was in his element and he was used to people listening to him, unlike myself. Tyler looked over at the bed and he saw my eyes on him and he quickly finished the call as he walked over to the bed to me. With a groggy morning voice, I asked him, “What time is it?” “It’s almost four am. Why don’t you go back to sleep and I will wake you later.” Tyler said to me as he sat on the edge of the bed and ran his fingers through my hair and I closed my eyes relishing his gentle touch. I knew it was wrong of me to love the feel of it but my body was craving him and what he was doing was innocent or at least that was what I was telling myself. “Will you hold me in your arms again till I fall back to sleep.” I asked him as I curled up in the blanket.
