Kirou was currently on his way back to Elderwood Village. He was currently smiling as he was wondering what the look on Reya's face would be when she saw the quality for the list of items she traded with Kirou.
'I almost regret not waiting around to see her face when she checked those items. I'm willing to bet she will be shocked,' thought Kirou to himself with a smug smile on his face.
The reason for Kirou's current jovial mood and the assurance that Reya would be shocked was that all the items she asked for were given to her as excellent quality. At this point in the game, it was practically impossible for there to exist another person capable of achieving that. As for the plants he received in return, they might not be of excellent quality but they were high enough. With the other items mixed in, when he turns in the quests he should maintain a high grade overall.
Like that, Kirou kept walking for roughly twenty minutes until he made it back to the familiar south gate for Elderwood Village. Passing by the scene of players slaying weak monsters outside of the south gate, Kirou nodded at the fact that he didn't bother wasting his time here. Even if he did manage to kill something, with the number of players around he probably wouldn't have been able to harvest the quest materials in peace.
After passing through the south gate, Kirou made his way towards the nearest villager that tasked him with a quest, which just so happened to be the general store manager. He didn't forget to keep practicing his 'Pickpocket' skill on the players he passed as the proficiency can only get higher with consistent use. To do his best to minimize taking anything important from said players, he made sure to touch each player for less than a second before moving on.
By the time he made it to the general store, he had gotten quite a few copper coins from the players he passed. He also obtained quite a few pieces of equipment as well but he just ignored those as none appealed to him. The players themselves didn't notice the missing items until they already left the village and by then Kirou was long gone.
*******
As Kirou entered the general store, he was greeted with a familiar sight. Players were complaining about the grades they received for the items they turned in and the general store manager explaining that she cannot give a better grade for the items they brought. The only difference between this and the previous scenario is that none of the players were dumb enough to try and attack the general store manager. Apparently, word has gotten around that attacking the villagers was a stupid move.
Seeing that no one else was handing in their quests, Kirou decided to approach the general store manager. He had to push his way through the crowd as there were quite a few players within the store.
"How may I be of assistance today, young one?" asked the wolf lady when she noticed Kirou's approach.
"I'm here to turn in the items for your quest manager," replied Kirou as he finally managed to get to the counter, amidst the complaints of other players.
"How was your hunt? I hope you brought back materials that can move me," said the store manager as she looked at Kirou with somewhat eager eyes. She remembered him as he was the only one who asked about the grades in detail.
Kirou started taking out items and placing them on the counter in front of him. He then replied to the wolf manager with a smile, "Why not take a look yourself? I'll let you be the judge of that."
Many players were originally going to leave the store after their failed discussions with the general store manager but stayed back after hearing the conversation between Kirou and the manager. Some of them were even sneering at Kirou as they thought that he was just another newbie not introduced to the struggles of doing quests just yet. Kirou could hear a few players badmouthing him since they weren't far, to begin with, but he just ignored them. The only person who's words mattered to him now was the general store manager herself.
"Well. Let's take a look at your loot," said the female Lycan as she started examining Kirou's items. The smile on the woman's face disappeared as she examined each item one at a time. The players behind Kirou were all curious about the results of Kirou's bounty as well.
When the manager was done examining the items, she turned to Kirou who still had a smile on his face, and asked, "Are you sure you want to turn in these items? These materials are from higher grade monsters and with this quality, it seems like a waste to turn them in for my quest."
Hearing her words, the players behind Kirou were shocked. The ones who were sneering at him now had red cheeks as if someone had just slapped them. They couldn't believe the newbie they were sneering at less than a minute ago had brought superior quality items to turn in for a quest. Everyone present couldn't help but wonder where and how Kirou got his hands on those materials.
"Don't worry about it. I have more in my bag and I can just go get some more in case I run out," said Kirou still maintaining a half relaxed, half smug smile on his face. The players behind him were shocked to hear Kirou's response. Here they were searching through the dark wondering how to increase their grade for the quest and in comes a guy with top-tier materials and he has extras in his bag. How could they not be affected?
"Hey, you. The guy with the top tier materials. Sell me those items," shouted one of the guys who had originally sneered at him at the back.
"Yea, sell us those items. It's not like you can't get more," shouted another guy from that group.
Like that, countless players shouted in agreement. They wanted those items so that they could increase their respective quest grades. Kirou turned around and looked at the players making a fuss. He especially looked at the group who were originally sneering at him to find them sporting smug smiles on their faces.
Kirou raised his eyebrow before turning back to the general store manager, ignoring the clamoring players. "As I was saying, I'm turning those in for the quest."
"Since that is the case, I'll accept these items then."
<System Message: You have completed the General Store Manager's Quest.>
[You have received the following items:]
Expert Grade Rabbit Stew x 1
Superior Quality Rabbit Under Armor

Hearing the prompts, Kirou immediately checked his inventory and noticed the new items. He also checked his quest list and noticed the highlighted section for the general store manager. Nodding to himself, Kirou then took out the remainder of the rabbit items from his inventory.
"Ms. Manager, I would also like to give you these." As Kirou said these words, he looked at the smug group at the back from the corner of his eyes. He noticed that they were currently fuming and he couldn't help smiling. The rest of the players were crestfallen as well.
"I'm sorry, young one. I can't just take these items from you..." Those words caused the surrounding players, especially the group at the back to perk up again. Unfortunately, her next words made them despair even more, "Instead, why don't I give you access to another subclass that allows you to make use of those materials. You can just give me half of them as payment."
"Yes, I would like to do that." Kirou agreed to this easily, as it gave him another subclass and as a means to piss off that group of smug players.
"Very well, young one. Here you go," said the store manager as she extended her hand and touched Kirou.
<System Message: General Store Manager Almia has granted you the class {Cook}.>
"With this, you'll be able to make use of the remaining materials as you see fit."
"Thanks for this Manager Almia. I still have some other villagers to visit so I'll take my leave now." Kirou clasped his hands to Manager Almia before turning around and force his way through the crowd of people. As he passed that group of smug players, he made sure to activate his <Pickpocket> skill on them. He didn't really care what he got from them but he wanted to make sure they lost something before he left.
After he finally managed to exit the store, he didn't even bother to check what he got from the skill before he disappeared into the crowd of villagers, making his way to the other four quest givers.
*******
Kirou had basically experienced the same thing when he went to the other four quest givers. There was always a group of players wanting to start trouble when they saw him dealing with the villagers and always wanted his extra materials when he finished handing in the quest items. The only good news from this was that he managed to obtain a subclass from each of the quest givers, except for the blacksmith and the butcher. Noticing he already had the blacksmith class, the blacksmith instead gave him a personal hammer and anvil so that Kirou can create his own smithy wherever he wants. As for the butcher, he gave Kirou information on where and how to obtain the fisherman subclass.
Kirou was currently on his way to see Old Wolf to hand in the quest. As he was walking, he opened up his status menu to take a look at his stats. He nodded to himself as he saw just how far he has gotten since he started.

Looking over his stats, Kirou noticed a few fields had been added and filled out. He was sure that was in response to him unlocking new things since last time. After verifying the changes, Kirou sped up on his run to the village center.
After walking for a few more minutes, Kirou finally arrived in front of Old Wolf. He could see that Old Wolf was still sitting in his chair. As Kirou approached, Old Wolf rose from his seat and greeted Kirou.
"It seems that you have finished my errand, young one. How was it?"
"Hello senior. It wasn't easy but I did manage to finish them. I even managed to get help from an elf along the way." Kirou informed Old Wolf on how he ran into Reya and made a deal with her by exchanging their respective expertise.
Listening to Kirou words, Old Wolf couldn't help but show a thoughtful expression on his face. "It seems like you are the type of person who will work with others when you notice your lack of skill in certain areas. Very good. It seems these old eyes of mine truly weren't deceiving me." Old Wolf then clapped his hands.

"I'm sorry that I cannot give you better rewards when you've gone and done so well for me and the villagers, young one." Old Wolf released a sigh after saying this.
"It is fine, senior. It is I who went above board when helping out the villagers and they've already repaid me plenty by granting me access to different lifestyle classes. I couldn't ask for more from you when they have already been so generous." Kirou said this so that Old Wolf wouldn't feel down about the low amount of rewards he had given Kirou when he got such a grade.
"They did, did they?" mumbled Old Wolf under his breath as he was observing Kirou. He could see that all the villagers he helped out gave him something extra and this caused a light to go off in Old Wolf's eyes. "In that case, young one, how about I grant you one as well?"
"You can grant me another class, senior?" asked Kirou in slight bewilderment.
"Yes, young one. Only, this class requires you to have one of each of the three types of lifestyle classes. So far you have secured two of the required classes and the only thing left is for you to unlock the blacksmith class."
When Kirou heard this, he realized he might have triggered a special event. Based on Wang Xu's memories and the info Shang Yin had given him earlier that day, he knew that the only way one could gain a new class that requires him to have one or two before it is when it's an advanced class. Advanced classes themselves weren't rare in 'Immortal Era,' just that the unlock conditions were brutal. Kirou never thought he would have unlocked one so early when he had just started the game today.
"When you have received the class from Instructor Bladesmith or Blacksmith Zac, come back to me and I'll grant you this class." After saying this, Old Wolf tapped Kirou's shoulder before he went back to his seat, ignoring Kirou.
<System Message: Village Head Old Wolf has issued you a quest.>
Quest: Crafting Master Advanced Class
Rank:?
Level:?
Details: Due to your unlocking multiple lifestyle classes, you have met the conditions to use the long-forgotten lifestyle class, 'Crafting Master.' So far you have met all but one condition. Complete the conditions and go see Village Head Old Wolf to unlock this advanced class.
Class Unlock Conditions:
Crafting Subclass: 0/1 (Blacksmith)
Harvester Subclass: 1/1 (Alchemist, Miner, Lumberjack)
Leisure Subclass: 1/1 (Cook, Fisherman, Farmer)
After reading the quest prompts, Kirou couldn't stop an eyebrow from rising as he only barely met the conditions to unlock this quest due to the provocations of those groups of people. It seems like he should do them a favor if he meets them later on. Well, that is what Kirou thought before he tossed that idea out the window. Kirou gave Old Wolf a wave before turning around and rushing towards the village armory where Instructor Bladesmith was currently waiting for him.
Kirou was currently standing outside of the Village Armory. Like his previous trip, he could hear the sounds of metal being hammered from behind the door. Unlike before, he didn't knock to gain Bladesmith's attention before he could enter. He just quietly snuck in and waited next to the door. Like that, he allowed another hour to pass before his presence was acknowledged. It was only after he had finished hammering that piece of metal into shape that he stopped working and turned around to greet Kirou. "Sorry for keeping you waiting, lad.""It's fine. After all, I'm the one who showed up while you were working." Kirou said this to Bladesmith as they both approached the resting area of the cottage."So, you have the materials you need to make that unique weapon of yours?" asked Bladesmith out of curiosity."In fact, I have. It's just that I'm going to need a bit of help in the creation process." Kirou
Kirou was currently walking around Elderwood Village. The conversation he had with Bladesmith got him thinking about a few things about his weapon master class. The fact that he would eventually have had to get the blacksmith subclass to get his own personalized weapons was surprising. That wasn't info he was privy to before starting the game. He understands why he would have had to do it in the long run, especially with all the weapon designs he has in mind, but he couldn't help but take note of this detail. Hell, the only reason he got it so early is due to him finding some common ground with Bladesmith from the start.'I guess this game isn't so simple as the game company's advertisements made it seem so far. I wonder what else I will stumble unto while playing this game.' Those were Kirou's thoughts as he was opened up his status menu. He's been receiving a reminder from the system for a while now so he decided to check it out.Name: Kir
Kirou was currently lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling with unfocused eyes. It was currently five in the morning. Due to the gaming helmet putting his body into a state of rest while he played the game, his body felt quite refreshed. This, however, did nothing to alleviate the fatigue of his mind he felt from gaming the whole night so he was currently staring off into space. After spending a few more minutes like this, Kirou eventually got up and made a simple breakfast. After eating his fill and washing up, he did a set of stretches before leaving his apartment. Kirou ran a few miles before returning to his apartment, washed off the morning sweat, and got ready for work. It was after seven when he finally left the apartment for work.By the time Kirou got to work, it was already 8:30 and his shift started at 9. Kirou spent this time in a daze as well and it wasn't until his shift started that focus seemed to return to his
Kirou was currently in his wolf form walking up to the village head of Elderwood Village, Old Wolf. He was originally planning to do this before he logged out in the morning but he had some things to think about that took the whole day.The reason he was so out of it while working was due to his discovery of a certain item equipped on him that shouldn't even exist in the game. That isn't a correct statement as the item in question shouldn't even exist in this world. The item in question was a certain mysterious bead. The mysterious bead took up one of his accessory slots and he couldn't check its details. What was even weirder was that whenever he tried to unequip the bead, he kept getting the following message;[System Message: Item is soul-bound and cannot be unequipped.]This message kept bugging Kirou as he tried removing the bead. He had no idea how the bead followed him into the game or became
To the north of Elderwood Village was a swampland. This swampland was filled to the brim with various reptilian and amphibian monsters. In one section of this swampland, there was a small scale battle currently going on. In this battle, a few giant poison frogs were surrounding a werewolf equipped with a small knife. Naturally, this werewolf was Kirou.Kirou had been roaming this forest for a few hours now. He had been looking for the right material to make his armor from. So far he's come across various forms of frogs, snakes, lizardmen, and crocodiles. His latest opponents are a variant species of frogs called Giant Poison Frogs.Monster: Giant Poison FrogLevel: 9HP: 850Skills: Leap, Poison Spit, Tongue StrikeKirou was currently surrounded by half a dozen of these frogs at the moment, all intent on turning Kirou into their lunch. Kirou was currently meditating under a tree. He had just finished fighting a dozen swamp crocodiles and needed to rest to recover his health. At least, that's how it looked from the perspective of the party trying to surround him.Kirou had noticed that party following his trail long before they did, a by-product of his constant use of shadow teleportation. In fact, he had even overheard their conversation due to the 'Keen Senses' trait that he has that is always active when he's outside of the village. At the moment he was pretending to rest to see just how they planned to achieve their goal. He was acutely aware of the lycan thief trying to get behind him.In his eyes, the stealth skill that the thief was too good for him. While the skill itself was good, the user was doing a piss poor job of utilizing it. Even without his keen senses active or the intuition he's honed from years of fighting other assassins, he could s
Currently, outside of the swampland north of Elderwood Village, an elf can be seen traveling westward. Just like all elves, this one looked quite handsome but if one was to take a closer look at him they would realize that this elf was currently pale as a ghost. Naturally, this elf was Hidden Bow, the only surviving member of the party that Kirou recently decimated.Hidden Bow couldn't stop himself from constantly looking over his shoulder as the events that took place in the swampland still frightened him. Somehow, joining a random party to do a quest resulted in him meeting such a dangerous person. If someone had told Hidden Bow this before he left Thousand Wood Village earlier that day, he probably would have laughed it off. He couldn't do that now though. The conversation he had with Kirou kept replaying in his mind. This was especially so whenever he looked back at the items he currently had in his inventory.``````
Staring back at the boss monster in front of him, Kirou didn't back down but grew excited instead. A monster that could cause the hairs on his skin to rise was something he hadn't experienced fight in this game yet. Kirou didn't plan to back down after finding this beast but he didn't immediately attack it. So far the creature itself hasn't attacked Kirou and that told Kirou he hadn't drawn its ire just yet.Kirou and his clones retreated a few meters from the beast and the beast gave Kirou a wary look before closing its eyes once again. Once Kirou was sure his actions wouldn't cause the beast to rush him instantly, he looked inside his inventory. After searching through all the materials he's found, he found what he was looking for and took them out. What he took out was a set of leather armor he bought from Elderwood Village. He wanted to use it as a model for the armor he would later create but the boss monster in front of him gave him the feeling that he wou
It's been a few days since Kirou returned to the with his new residents. During this time, both old and new residents worked hard to turn the shallow and empty area into a proper village. With the initial houses Kirou had built as a base and starting area, the village extended a bit into the forest, with the goal being to recover land for both farming and extending the village even further in the future. Unsurprisingly, all residents decided to keep living above ground, leaving the passage that led to the pier being the only path they trod. In contrast, the remaining floors were left for Kirou's purposes after all the excavation work was complete. Speaking of the excavation work, Kirou was given a surprise earlier that day when he explored the two floors situated above the pier and below the village on the surface. It seems that during the time that he was away from the village and holed up in the pier area after returning, his residents had come together to fully ex
The Garuda player and his squad from the guild have finally returned to the Seaside Village. Unlike the trip to the pirate hideout that took 5 hours, the return trip only needed half that time. The Garuda player mainly returned here instead of continuing his hunt or returning to his guild as he was curious to see the results of that quest he never got the chance to finish. He was also interested in seeing if he would be able to meet that strange Lycan player he had initially pursued. Unfortunately, his second wish would go unanswered for quite a time. Upon entering the location of the Seaside Village, what greeted the Garuda player and his squad was essentially a ghost town. The village lacked any sign of life and it looked like its inhabitants were in quite the rush to leave. At this point, one squad member, a Lycan, spoke up, "Looks like these guys wasted no time in making themselves scarce as if wanting to avoid us like the plague. What say you now, Boss?" The G
Returning to the moment the Garuda player and his squad had entered the Drarven Village turned pirate camp, Kirou and the former captives have now arrived at the shores of the Seaside Village. He had already guessed what had happened when he found the Village Head's son as one of the captives on the pirate ship, but seeing the current state of the Seaside Village forced a deep sigh out of Kirou's mouth. Even then, he still had a job to finish, so he shook his mind free of their random thoughts and focused on what was ahead of him. Seeing the pirate ships coming close, the remainder of the village was once again arming themselves for combat. Sadly, there were a lot fewer able-bodied persons capable of fighting this time, so morale was at its absolute worst for the villagers. Even the Village Head, the fiercest fighter in the village in the previous bout, was now struggling to raise his weapon in the face of the returning pirate crew. From a glance, it was quite apparent to these vill
Kirou was currently making his way back to the Seaside Village via the ships used by the pirates. He needed a secure way to transport all the women and children that were captured back to the village without injury and in a timely manner, and .... it's not like the previous owners had much use for these ships anymore. As for controlling and navigating the ships themselves, Kirou had no part in that as he lacked the necessary experience and skill needed to do so. Instead, this job was taken over by the captured women that were previously held captive in the resting area of the camp by those pirates. Apparently, they were part of a crew of sailors that got captured at sea. Their ship had recently gone through a bad storm and most of the crew got injured in the process. Those that survived the storm thought that things would be fine when another ship passed by in their time of need. Sadly, their hopes were dashed as this ship was filled with pirates. When the pirates found and boarded
While all that was going down back at the Seaside Village, Kirou was already making his moves in the enemy stronghold. It's now been fifteen minutes since Kirou initiated his plan. Stealth and subterfuge were the game's name, and Kirou had to make severe commitments to follow through on his plans. He started out by summoning two clones, which he then sent to specific places to hide until he gave the signal. Following this, he rushed back to the cave where the kids were being kept captive. Unlike his prior visit where most of his was spent searching for their location, this time he would be able to deal with them without as much trouble. That said, he remained hidden in a dark spot while watching the actions of the captors and their captives. As he did this, he silently retrieved an item from his inventory. It was a small canister-like object that almost anyone would recognize if they saw it. Besides the main body in this cave, his clones pulled out similar objects, a few of whic
After leaving the village, Kirou has been heading northwest for roughly two hours. During this trip, he made multiple adjustments to his heading after using his skill to investigate his surroundings. The downside of this was that he had to chug down multiple potions to replenish his quickly spent [MP] after each trip. It was at this time that Kirou slowed and silenced his steps. This is because the stronghold for those human traffickers was within his sights. Having stopped behind a tree, Kirou calmed his breathing and steadied his heart rate. After doing so, he peered from behind the tree, gazing at his targets going about their business in the large base. The base itself was an abandoned seaside village that seemed to have been occupied initially by dwarfs. Along with a few lodging houses, there were a few paths dug into the hill directly behind the houses. The houses themselves were spread out and made in a style similar to inns, but the size of the windows
A few weeks have passed since Kirou had the discussion with both Cain and Jackson by the underground lake. Unlike the empty and somewhat desolate space that it was before, the underground lake was starting to look like a proper workspace for ships and people alike. More buildings had been constructed on the land area, with one side set up to properly reflect a shipyard and the other to reflect an underground harbor for ships. As for the water, multiple ports had been erected for both ship and civilian use. Hell, a few small boats were already making use of the new docking facilities that were recently created. As for how this happened, Kirou could only say that he got extremely lucky with his excursions outside the <Phantom Palace>. *******Flashback******* *Three days after the discussion with Jackson and Cain* Kirou was currently farming mining resources points.
It's been a few hours since Kirou and his group, along with the recent additions, returned to the <Phantom Palace>. Kirou only left some instructions with the girls and Mistaken Fox for the former bandits while he invited both Jackson and Cain to follow him to the underground pier. The trio was currently sitting around a small table, Kirou drinking some tea while both Jackson and Cain stared at him in confusion. This went on for a few minutes before Jackson spoke up. "Young Master, would you mind explaining why you've brought both of us down here?" Cain maintained his silence, but he gave a slight nod in agreement to Jackson's words. Kirou only glanced at the duo for a few moments before turning his eyes to the waters of his underground port. As soon as he finished his tea, Kirou spoke, "I'll be leaving for the <Beast Continent> within the next two weeks." T
Kirou and Jackson took a few minutes to work out the finer details of the <Blood Oath> that they wanted Cain to make. During this time, Cain genuinely contemplated committing suicide multiple times. The reason behind this was that neither Kirou nor Jackson bothered to lower their voices during their discussion, allowing Cain to hear all of their depraved ideas to include in the oath. The thought of escaping entered Cain's mind multiple times, only to be dismissed almost immediately. Not counting the fact that he was injured at the moment, even if he wasn't, he still had to contend with the creatures surrounding him. And even if he could somehow get through those creatures, there was still a large group he had to fight through, not to mention both Kirou and Jackson. With those thoughts in mind, Cain resigned himself to the whims of the two bastards holding him captive. Both Kirou and Jackson could see that Cai
