The trio opened the door and entered the room, only to be greeted to the sight of a giant Murloc with a staff within its hand, sitting on a coral chair with seaweed being used as cushions.
"WHO DARES TO ENTER MY DOMAIN," barked the Murloc Shaman. In its anger, it rose from its coral chair and gave the trio a vicious look.
Looking at the giant Murloc before them, the trio simultaneously sucked in a breath of cold air after looking at its stats.
Monster: Murloc Shaman Rodrick (Boss)
Level: 17
HP: 57500
Mag Attack: 250
Def: 150
Skills: Holy Water, Frost Ray, Water Prison, Water Armor, Summon Minions, Berserk
He still had the same level as the monsters the trio just killed outside the door, but that's about it when it came to similarities. While he still had the same skills as the normal Murloc shaman, the extra skills made Kirou furrow his brows.
Kirou has met a boss with the berserk skill already so he knew exactly what to expect, but that summon skill gave Kirou a bad feeling.
While maintaining his sights on the giant Murloc heading their way, Kirou asked in a hushed tone, "You ladies have any second thoughts about taking on this boss just yet?"
Both women formed wry smiles on their faces in response to Kirou's question. Of course, they were having second thoughts about facing this boss now, especially after they took a look at his skills. Unfortunately for them, the door to the boss room closed on its own after the trio entered.
Navi was the one who spoke up after releasing a sigh, "Even if we do, we can't do anything about it. In that case, let's kill this creature so that we can get out." Reya nodded her head in agreement with Navi's words.
Hearing those words, Kirou inhaled deeply before releasing that breath. The look on his face changed from his usual playful expression and adopted a serious one in its place. Kirou then equipped all his weapons at once in their respective places, a perk of the weapon master class's trait, 'Master-at-Arms.' At the moment, he had on his clawed gloves with the gunblade tonfas in his hands and the chain wrapped around his waist. He wouldn't be able to make use of his wires or knife in this situation as both require the use of his hands as well but is something he can get around later if the need arises thanks to his other class trait, 'Fast Hands.'
Following him equipping two more weapons, Kirou dashed towards the Murloc shaman. Even though he had the lowest level of the trio, he was the only one who could act as a tank, or at the very least keep the monster's hate locked onto him without trouble.
When Kirou got in range of Rodrick, Rodrick immediately cast a frost ray in his direction. Kirou made no attempts at blocking that attack and instead opted to use a charged attack to propel his body closer to Rodrick, effectively dodging the attack and closing the distance between both Lycan and Murloc.
Rodrick never noticed his attack had missed but the moment he was about to step towards the two elf women, he was hit with an attack from behind.
[-110]
It was an insignificant damage figure when compared to its total health but it did cause Rodrick to pause in its tracks to go after the women and made it turn around to see Kirou pointing the barrel of his gunblade tonfa at it. This enraged Rodrick and caused him to release a water prison to trap Kirou, followed by releasing a frost ray to finish him off.
Kirou knew that if he got hit with either skill, he would be dead and the women would soon follow so he made sure to dodge both. He barely managed to dodge both by once again using a charged attack to propel him backward. After steadying his landing, Kirou fired a few more attacks on Rodrick, earning his ire as all the attacks landed, and kept dealing [-110] damages on it.
It was only after Kirou had been landing attacks on it for over five minutes did he shout towards the elf women, "I've got its hate locked on me now. Hit it as hard as possible."
Following his words, both Reya and Navi sprung into action. Reya started their assault with a few arrow attacks, dealing [-20] damage each. She then switched up her strategy and started using her skills and aimed for unguarded areas on Rodrick.

[190]
As for Navi, being a melee class as she is, she got in close and attacked Rodrick from behind. She made sure to target Rodrick's back and head with the rogue skills 'backstab' and 'concussive blow.' Both dealt decent damage to Rodrick even though they weren't critical hits.

[-410]
While the attacks themselves weren't anything strong on their own, together, they started to chip away at the boss's health. Going at it for over five minutes, Rodrick's health finally got to the 91% mark. Immediately Kirou shouted to Navi to get back. As she did so, both Kirou and Reya's ranged attacks dropped Rodrick's health to the 90% mark, which caused it to stop firing frost ray and water prison at Kirou. Instead, it started waving around its staff and speaking in an unknown language. After doing that for ten seconds, six elite murlocs spawned within the room and started attacking the trio.
"So it's gonna use summon every 10% health drop. Navi, you take half while I continue to kite the rest and Rodrick around the room. Reya, you help Navi finish off her set then pull one from the group chasing me. Let's do this until it's just Rodrick left." After Kirou said this, he threw an object at the group of murlocs that just spawned. It caused an explosion that did [-250] damage on each Murloc. Kirou then started running in the opposite direction of the women with Rodrick on his tail.
Both women followed Kirou's orders as Reya pulled half of the murlocs from the group chasing Kirou and Navi attacking them from behind. They kept the murlocs trapped between them and killed them off without facing much danger. Reya then pulled more murlocs and this continued until it was only Rodrick that was left chasing Kirou. Both women joined in and resumed their attacks on the Murloc Shaman Boss.
**************
The trio has been at it for over half an hour now and Rodrick was nearing the 50% mark with its health. As usual, Navi backed off when it got close to the 10% mark and waited for it to do its summon before resuming. This time, however, the Murloc shaman didn't immediately cast summon and instead used the water armor skill. Following that, Rodrick cast holy water on him, raising his health back to the 70% mark before finally casting summon.
Seeing those actions caused the trio to scowl in anger. It was already hard enough just to shave its health down to 50% and now it started healing. What kind of BS action is that? That was the thoughts of the two women, at least. Kirou, on the other hand, was wondering why it took so long to use that skill. He got the feeling he wasn't going to like the answer to that question and he was proven right less than ten minutes later.
Once Rodrick got to 60% health, it used its summon skill once again. Immediately after, it tried to catch holy water on itself as well. The keyword here being 'tried.' The moment Kirou noticed signs of Rodrick wanting to cast holy water, he threw a grenade towards Rodrick, which caused an explosion that interrupted Rodrick's spell cast.
Seeing that its heals could be interrupted, the trio grew excited and started beating on Rodrick much faster and harder than before. There were a few times when Rodrick managed to get holy water off, regaining 20% of its but the trio made sure its health never made it back above 70%.
After figuring out all the tells and timing their attacks properly, the trio managed to keep Rodrick from gaining anymore heals on itself and steadily shaved away its health.
*****************
Rodrick's health was currently hovering just above 15%. It had taken the trio quite a while to shave Rodrick's health down to this level and they were in no rush to finish it off. Partly due to the water armor cutting a whole lot of their damage and partly due to what Kirou expects will happen when its health gets to 10%.
"Ladies, I advise you to keep watch of your cooldowns. Its health is about to reach the 10% mark. After that, it will go berserk. When that happens, it's gonna get a whole lot faster and stronger in that state while its defense will take a nosedive. I suggest you use your strongest attacks then as it's busy trying to maul me." Kirou said this in between attacking and running. He made sure to land as many critical hits as he possibly could, as fast as possible before backing off to keep Rodrick's rage aimed at him. This wasn't all that easy when he has a teammate that deals twice the amount of damage as him in total but he was making it work.
"Got it," shouted Reya while using regular attacks on Rodrick while Navi acknowledged by slowing down her attack frequency.
As the trio was shaving off Rodrick's health dangerously close to the 10% mark, a mistake occurred. It wasn't on purpose but Navi managed to land her first critical hit on Rodrick that entire fight.
<Critical>
[-2300]
That one damage figure managed to shift Rodrick's hate from Kirou and towards Navi. Worst of all, it immediately entered berserk mode, causing its body to swell to dangerous proportions. In this state, Rodrick no longer tried to cast magic but instead rushed towards Navi and attacked her with its staff.
Navi got into the stance to block the attack but Kirou immediately shouted at her, "DODGE!!!"
His shout came too late as Rodrick's staff slammed into Navi in that instant.
<Blocked>
[-2150]
Pretty much all of Navi's health was removed with that one swing of Rodrick's staff. Navi was left with just 5 health and her daggers were in poor shape, obviously from taking such a powerful hit head-on.
Navi was in momentary shock from what she just experienced and Reya herself wasn't in a position to help her out. Rodrick raised his staff once again, intending to slam it down on Navi, finishing her off. Just before Rodrick could slam it down on her, however, it stopped in its tracks.
Navi was surprised that she wasn't being slammed to death. When she looked up at Rodrick, she noticed that Rodrick was currently shaking. Its eyes were red, signifying it was still in its berserk state but there was a terrified expression on its face.
Just as Navi was about to move, she felt a very oppressive aura wash over her. It caused her body to freeze up and she felt the threat of death invade her mind. In just a second she pictured herself dying in various ways. Reya wasn't facing the brunt of the aura but she too was feeling the dark aura. She didn't have any visions of death like Navi did but she was shaking in terror from the dark aura.
Seeing the effect that his skill was having on his teammates, Kirou rushed towards the berserk Rodrick and used both his wires and chain to bind it in place. Following this, he created two shadow clones and had them attack Rodrick while he deactivated the skill. By the time the skill effect wore off from Rodrick and the two women, Rodrick was only left with 3% health.
Having the effect of terror worn off, Rodrick started to thrash about again, but his limbs were locked in place by Kirou's wires and chain. Feeling the restrictions, Rodrick started thrashing even more in an attempt to escape his bindings.
Feeling his wires and chain breaking, Kirou couldn't help but shout out to the women, "Attack Rodrick now. He's almost dead."
This shout snapped both women out of their stupor. They looked around to see where they were and realized that they were still in a boss fight. While they were unsure of what just happened, they knew that they'll have to put it off until Rodrick drops dead. With that thought in mind, both women resumed their attacks on the big Murloc shaman.
After another 20 seconds, Rodrick finally collapsed on the floor. Kirou, who was holding Rodrick in place with his wires and chain from behind collapsed on the floor. Both women looked at each other before going over to Kirou.
When they saw Kirou collapsed on the floor, both women were wondering just what happened to put him in that state.
Reya was the one who voiced that question, "What the heck happened to you, Mr. Wolf?"
While lying with his back on the floor, Kirou looked up at both women for a few seconds before answering, "Just consider it a consequence of forcefully using a skill on a stronger target."
Kirou then ignored both women for the next five minutes while they sat down beside him in confusion.
Kirou finally got up after lying on the floor for a few minutes. His abrupt actions startled the two women resting beside him, but he paid no attention to that as he had a system message going off in his head at the moment.[System Message: You have leveled up.][You are at level 12]{Name: Kirou}{Race: Werewolf(Lycan/Human)}{Class: Weapon Master}{Subclass: Crafting Master}{Weapons: Gunblade Tonfas, Beginner Knife, Wolf Claws, Enchanted Steel Chain, Threaded Wires}{Armor: Swampland Leather Armor Set (vest, pants, gloves, boots, crocodile helmet), Mysterious Bead(???)}{Level: 12}{HP: 720/720 (420+100+200)}{MP: 600/600 (350+100+150)}{Str: 44 (24+10+10)}{Int: 27 (22+5)}{Def: 58 (23+10+10+5+5+5)}{Const: 35 (25+10)}{Dex: 25 (20+5)}{Agi: 25 (20+5)}{Luck: 55/100}{Skill Points: 35}{Fame: 2600}{Money:
Facing the incoming Murloc elites, the trio brandished their weapons and started an all-out fight with the water-based creatures. All while this was going on, Archmage Anderson was looking at the group with mirth in its eyes. Archmage Anderson never took the trio seriously and after looking at them for a while, he summoned a few more elites then returned to the center of the swirling cloud of mana.As for Kirou and the two lady elves, they were busy fighting back against the Murloc elites summoned by Anderson. While they weren't hard to defeat, it was taking the trio some time to get through them. And as for the new set summoned by Anderson, Kirou saw when they were summoned and couldn't help but furrow his eyebrows.'Just what is that bastard Murloc doing in the cloud that needs him to keep us busy like this. I'm positive he knows that we can kill these guys since we made it here so what is he doing in there that needs us to be stalled?' Th
Kirou and the girls were currently annoyed with their subjugation target, Mutated Murloc Warrior Jake. It's been almost thirty minutes since Jake had equipped the frost armor on his body and his health was currently just above 40%. It had taken the same time for them to drop Jake's health from full to 50% just for that to drop to 40% after he equipped the frost armor. How could the trio not be annoyed with this boss?Noticing that ammo reserves are running low, Kirou decided to stop firing shots at Jake and rushed to engage Jake in close quarters. That being said, he had to be careful with his attacks as the mutated Murloc warrior was swinging his arms as weapons quite wildly."You guys have any ideas. I don't think I can keep this up for much longer as I'm running out of arrows." Reya said this while notching another arrow on her short bow. Unlike at the start of the battle when she was wildly shooting at any visible spot on Jake, Reya was
Both women were bewildered by the words that came out of Kirou's mouth. It was so shocking that both women were stunned into silence for a few minutes. During this time, Kirou sat down in a meditative state and recovered his missing health and mana while the girls were still shocked silly. After a few minutes, however, Reya was the one who spoke up after releasing a sigh, "You know what, due to it being a solo kill, I should have figured it out when you started explaining about the benefits of playing on full manual mode and giving me lessons on harvesting." After saying this, Reya released another sigh in exasperation.Hearing her words caused Navi's head to turn in her direction so fast that both Kirou and Reya could swear they heard a snapping sound. "He did what on what and what now?" Navi had an even more pronounced look of bewilderment present on her face.Seeing that look on her face caused Reya to giggle a bit be
Immediately after the trio entered the elf apothecary's tree cottage, the player that had been stalking them since they entered the village made a call to someone via the game's messaging system.[Unknown Player: What is it?]"Boss. I found the girl you asked me about. She's currently in Thousand Wood Village like you predicted but we might have a problem," said the shady player in a single and quiet breath.[Unknown Player: And what problem would that be?]"She's currently teamed up with another elf girl that belongs to the village and a Lycan. I can't tell if they belong to a guild or not from where I am and I can't get any closer without alerting them to verify. How do you want me to proceed?" asked the shady player in a hushed tone. The unknown player on the other side of the convo took a few moments before relaying his message.[Unknown Player: Nothing c
Not long after Kirou led the girls away, the stalker from before tried to follow them, only to be blocked by two players(?) in similar apparel. He tried to go around them but the two players kept blocking his path. The stalker wanted to stab both players and kill them instantly so that he could continue to follow his targets, but alas, villages, towns, and cities are safe zones in Immortal Era and the system restricts the use of all weapons and combat-related skills. The only reason Kirou could create two clones while under this restriction was due to the fact that the shadow clone skill fell under a gray area in the rules. While it could be used in towns, it would be nothing more than a goofer used to transport objects or take up space and that is exactly what Kirou decided to use them to do.This game of blocking the stalker kept up for a few minutes before both clones suddenly stopped blocking him and ran away, leaving a fuming stalker to
Just as the enemy players started rushing the trio, Kirou placed his hands on both of their shoulders before the trio vanished from the encirclement of the enemy players. They then appeared on a tree branch of a tall tree a few meters away when Kirou gave them a message."Do your best to protect yourselves while I take care of the rest." Before either elf could make a comment, Kirou sank into the shadows once more before appearing on another side of the battlefield, engaging the enemy players in a melee.Seeing that Kirou had rejoined the fight, both elf women glanced at each other and did a nod before Reya took out her short bow and notched a few arrows while Navi climbed down the tree and disappeared into stealth as well.On Kirou's side, he was currently taking on over a dozen players. These players were attacking him from all angles but Kirou was making them look like a bunch of amateurs if all of those near misses a
It's been roughly an hour since the previous 'incident' back in the forest. For the whole journey until now, none of the three said a single word, whether it be the girls asking just what happened there or Kirou coming up with some form of defense for what he pulled off. All in all, it was quite a quiet walk. The trio traveled that way until they got to the end of Thousand Wood Forest. Having arrived at this point, one of the girls, Navi, spoke up."So...What are we gonna do now?" When Navi asked this, she was staring at Kirou, as if his decision would decide the group's direction. Reya also gave Kirou this stare, signifying her agreement with Navi.Kirou, for his part, looked at both women with a peculiar expression before releasing a breath. It seems that the two women have become subservient towards him after the spectacle they just witnessed. Kirou then shook his head free of any weird thoughts before he spoke up.
It's been a few days since Kirou returned to the with his new residents. During this time, both old and new residents worked hard to turn the shallow and empty area into a proper village. With the initial houses Kirou had built as a base and starting area, the village extended a bit into the forest, with the goal being to recover land for both farming and extending the village even further in the future. Unsurprisingly, all residents decided to keep living above ground, leaving the passage that led to the pier being the only path they trod. In contrast, the remaining floors were left for Kirou's purposes after all the excavation work was complete. Speaking of the excavation work, Kirou was given a surprise earlier that day when he explored the two floors situated above the pier and below the village on the surface. It seems that during the time that he was away from the village and holed up in the pier area after returning, his residents had come together to fully ex
The Garuda player and his squad from the guild have finally returned to the Seaside Village. Unlike the trip to the pirate hideout that took 5 hours, the return trip only needed half that time. The Garuda player mainly returned here instead of continuing his hunt or returning to his guild as he was curious to see the results of that quest he never got the chance to finish. He was also interested in seeing if he would be able to meet that strange Lycan player he had initially pursued. Unfortunately, his second wish would go unanswered for quite a time. Upon entering the location of the Seaside Village, what greeted the Garuda player and his squad was essentially a ghost town. The village lacked any sign of life and it looked like its inhabitants were in quite the rush to leave. At this point, one squad member, a Lycan, spoke up, "Looks like these guys wasted no time in making themselves scarce as if wanting to avoid us like the plague. What say you now, Boss?" The G
Returning to the moment the Garuda player and his squad had entered the Drarven Village turned pirate camp, Kirou and the former captives have now arrived at the shores of the Seaside Village. He had already guessed what had happened when he found the Village Head's son as one of the captives on the pirate ship, but seeing the current state of the Seaside Village forced a deep sigh out of Kirou's mouth. Even then, he still had a job to finish, so he shook his mind free of their random thoughts and focused on what was ahead of him. Seeing the pirate ships coming close, the remainder of the village was once again arming themselves for combat. Sadly, there were a lot fewer able-bodied persons capable of fighting this time, so morale was at its absolute worst for the villagers. Even the Village Head, the fiercest fighter in the village in the previous bout, was now struggling to raise his weapon in the face of the returning pirate crew. From a glance, it was quite apparent to these vill
Kirou was currently making his way back to the Seaside Village via the ships used by the pirates. He needed a secure way to transport all the women and children that were captured back to the village without injury and in a timely manner, and .... it's not like the previous owners had much use for these ships anymore. As for controlling and navigating the ships themselves, Kirou had no part in that as he lacked the necessary experience and skill needed to do so. Instead, this job was taken over by the captured women that were previously held captive in the resting area of the camp by those pirates. Apparently, they were part of a crew of sailors that got captured at sea. Their ship had recently gone through a bad storm and most of the crew got injured in the process. Those that survived the storm thought that things would be fine when another ship passed by in their time of need. Sadly, their hopes were dashed as this ship was filled with pirates. When the pirates found and boarded
While all that was going down back at the Seaside Village, Kirou was already making his moves in the enemy stronghold. It's now been fifteen minutes since Kirou initiated his plan. Stealth and subterfuge were the game's name, and Kirou had to make severe commitments to follow through on his plans. He started out by summoning two clones, which he then sent to specific places to hide until he gave the signal. Following this, he rushed back to the cave where the kids were being kept captive. Unlike his prior visit where most of his was spent searching for their location, this time he would be able to deal with them without as much trouble. That said, he remained hidden in a dark spot while watching the actions of the captors and their captives. As he did this, he silently retrieved an item from his inventory. It was a small canister-like object that almost anyone would recognize if they saw it. Besides the main body in this cave, his clones pulled out similar objects, a few of whic
After leaving the village, Kirou has been heading northwest for roughly two hours. During this trip, he made multiple adjustments to his heading after using his skill to investigate his surroundings. The downside of this was that he had to chug down multiple potions to replenish his quickly spent [MP] after each trip. It was at this time that Kirou slowed and silenced his steps. This is because the stronghold for those human traffickers was within his sights. Having stopped behind a tree, Kirou calmed his breathing and steadied his heart rate. After doing so, he peered from behind the tree, gazing at his targets going about their business in the large base. The base itself was an abandoned seaside village that seemed to have been occupied initially by dwarfs. Along with a few lodging houses, there were a few paths dug into the hill directly behind the houses. The houses themselves were spread out and made in a style similar to inns, but the size of the windows
A few weeks have passed since Kirou had the discussion with both Cain and Jackson by the underground lake. Unlike the empty and somewhat desolate space that it was before, the underground lake was starting to look like a proper workspace for ships and people alike. More buildings had been constructed on the land area, with one side set up to properly reflect a shipyard and the other to reflect an underground harbor for ships. As for the water, multiple ports had been erected for both ship and civilian use. Hell, a few small boats were already making use of the new docking facilities that were recently created. As for how this happened, Kirou could only say that he got extremely lucky with his excursions outside the <Phantom Palace>. *******Flashback******* *Three days after the discussion with Jackson and Cain* Kirou was currently farming mining resources points.
It's been a few hours since Kirou and his group, along with the recent additions, returned to the <Phantom Palace>. Kirou only left some instructions with the girls and Mistaken Fox for the former bandits while he invited both Jackson and Cain to follow him to the underground pier. The trio was currently sitting around a small table, Kirou drinking some tea while both Jackson and Cain stared at him in confusion. This went on for a few minutes before Jackson spoke up. "Young Master, would you mind explaining why you've brought both of us down here?" Cain maintained his silence, but he gave a slight nod in agreement to Jackson's words. Kirou only glanced at the duo for a few moments before turning his eyes to the waters of his underground port. As soon as he finished his tea, Kirou spoke, "I'll be leaving for the <Beast Continent> within the next two weeks." T
Kirou and Jackson took a few minutes to work out the finer details of the <Blood Oath> that they wanted Cain to make. During this time, Cain genuinely contemplated committing suicide multiple times. The reason behind this was that neither Kirou nor Jackson bothered to lower their voices during their discussion, allowing Cain to hear all of their depraved ideas to include in the oath. The thought of escaping entered Cain's mind multiple times, only to be dismissed almost immediately. Not counting the fact that he was injured at the moment, even if he wasn't, he still had to contend with the creatures surrounding him. And even if he could somehow get through those creatures, there was still a large group he had to fight through, not to mention both Kirou and Jackson. With those thoughts in mind, Cain resigned himself to the whims of the two bastards holding him captive. Both Kirou and Jackson could see that Cai
