Kirou was currently walking around Elderwood Village. The conversation he had with Bladesmith got him thinking about a few things about his weapon master class. The fact that he would eventually have had to get the blacksmith subclass to get his own personalized weapons was surprising. That wasn't info he was privy to before starting the game. He understands why he would have had to do it in the long run, especially with all the weapon designs he has in mind, but he couldn't help but take note of this detail. Hell, the only reason he got it so early is due to him finding some common ground with Bladesmith from the start.
'I guess this game isn't so simple as the game company's advertisements made it seem so far. I wonder what else I will stumble unto while playing this game.' Those were Kirou's thoughts as he was opened up his status menu. He's been receiving a reminder from the system for a while now so he decided to check it out.
Name: Kirou
Race: Werewolf(Lycan/Human)

(Every level increases each stat by 1 point until the level is a multiple of 5 where all stats are increased by 3. As for the skill points, they increase by 1 for each level and by 5 at every multiple of 5. This is to help out certain classes later on.)
After taking a look at his stats, Kirou noticed that there was an active message next to one of his traits. Wondering why that trait was being highlighted, Kirou activated it. That caused his body to change from the dark-skinned human with tribal tattoos wearing coarse linen clothing to that of a humanoid wolf with black fur. Unlike before where he stood out like a sore thumb, Kirou currently looked like any other lycan roaming the village. The only difference between his body and that of pure-blooded Lycans was that he was slightly smaller and not as wild looking.
'So this is what the system was alerting me about.'
Apparently, the trait 'Lycan Transformation' was unavailable to Kirou since the start of the game due to him not being at the requisite level. The moment he got to level 5 the skill finally became active and the system kept prompting him to use it. Maybe even the system found it weird for a half-ling like him to be in human form while roaming around a village full of lycans.
"Seems like this form comes with some pros and cons with its usage," Kirou said that to himself as he noticed that after he changed forms, half of his base intelligence and magic defense was lowered and added to his attack and defense. It seems like he also got a 50% boost in agility as well with this form.
Instead of heading towards the village head Old Wolf to complete his quest, Kirou made his way outside of the village. He suddenly felt the urge to test out his new weapons against the monsters. Don't get him wrong, the fight against Bladesmith's shadow was fun but he needed to see how good his weapons worked against regular monsters.

Reya was currently on her way to turn in the final quest to the village head of Thousand Wood Village. She was currently lost in thought, thinking about that human(?) she met in the forest a few hours ago.
She remembered how this seemingly average looking guy asked for advice with plant harvesting and preservation. The man himself didn't look remarkable or all that strong but he just had this presence around him that made it seem like he could accomplish whatever he wanted if he was interested. It was for this reason why she initially decided to help him.
Reya, herself, had traveled quite far to get to where she had met up with Kirou in that forest. She had done so solely to collect plants that weren't available near her village. In doing so, she forgot to kill the beasts and collect their respective materials as she was so focused on those plants. The two making that deal to trade materials probably benefited her more than it did him as she was sure she wouldn't have been able to collect materials of such quality on her own.
Speaking of material quality, it wasn't just her that was surprised by them. Apparently, all the quest givers she had to report to were surprised to see materials of that quality. In their words, even the best hunters in the village wouldn't be able to guarantee that they would be able to get items of such quality if they went out to collect it themselves, much less in the quantity that she gave them in.
This caused Reya to confirm that her initial impression of Kirou was off the mark as his feats couldn't be described as anything but remarkable, especially by elven standards. She couldn't help but wonder what Kirou was currently up to as she felt strangely curious about his actions.
'I hope I'll be able to meet him again tomorrow. Maybe I can get him to show me how he was able to acquire those materials for me.' After that thought ran through her mind, Reya shook her head to clear any other stray thoughts from forming and continued on her journey to the village head at a brisk pace.

The body of a wolf was lying on the forest floor with smoke rising from its body. Upon closer inspection, one could see a few dark spots on the wolf's body. The marks themselves weren't big but you could tell that they were made by something hot.
Kirou was currently a few meters away from the wolf's body, lowering the barrels his tonfas. It seemed that that attack was him testing out the effectiveness of the tonfas' ranged damage and it's effective range.
'Seems like I can't go beyond five meters with this thing or the damage drops drastically.' That was Kirou's thought as he was currently surveying the results of his test. This was the seventh wolf Kirou had slain using the ranged mode of the tonfas. So far he has checked the damage between half a meter to twelve meters. Up to five meters the attack will always hit but beyond that other variables start affecting the shot. Kirou was still able to hit the target from nine meters away with a few shots but the damage was too low to be of relevance. Beyond that, even with his great skill in using the weapon, he was not able to hit a single shot. His pride would have taken a hit if it was his fault but it seems that the weapon itself won't be able to hit anything beyond ten meters. It seems that the prototype gunblade tonfas just aren't good enough for it.
Weapon: Prototype Gunblade Tonfas
Weapon Level: 5
Weapon Type: Unranked
Requirements: 10 Strength, 20 Attack
Attack: 5-25
Ranged Attack: 10-30
Description: Prototype weapon created as a collaboration between Player Kirou and Weapon Master Bladesmith. This weapon shows potential but its current form is lacking in many areas. Recommended that it be upgraded as soon as possible or be scrapped, whichever works.
Looking over the stats of the weapon and its description, Kirou couldn't help shaking his head. He couldn't help but wonder who it was that made the description for his weapon.
'It's almost as if I'm being hated for something outside of my control.'
Kirou then shook his head free of these thoughts and approached the wolf's corpse. Just as before, he was about to skin it and harvest all the required materials when his hand stopped a few inches away from the corpse.
'This seems like a perfect time to test why those guys were having so much trouble with this,' was what Kirou thought to himself. Afterward, he opened his menu and change his gameplay mode from 'Manual' to 'Automatic.' After doing so he then placed his hands on the wolf's corpse.
As soon as he touches the corpse, it turned into particles of light and vanished. Kirou immediately received a prompt on the items he obtained from the corpse.
[You have received the following: damaged wolf fur x1, average wolf fur x1, average wolf bone x1.]
Kirou stopped in his tracked and blinked at the message he just saw. He blinked a few more times just to make sure he wasn't seeing things.
"What the f**k?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!" Those were the words Kirou spoke after seeing no change in the prompt.
'Maybe it's just a one-time thing and it's because I used it as a target dummy.' Kirou thought this in denial as he didn't want to believe what he just saw.
He then found another wolf and used the knife he was given by Bladesmith to make quick work of the wolf. He then reached out his hands to touch the corpse again.
[You have received the following: average wolf fur x2, average wolf bone x1, average wolf canine x1.]
'...' Kirou was at a loss at what was before his eyes.
Kirou then proceeded to kill another wolf. This time, he killed the wolf with his bare hands just to avoid damaging anything on the wolf's body.
[Generating skill...]
[Skill generated: Stunning Blow]

[Skill generated: Kidney Blow]
Kirou ignored the two newly created skills and rushed to touch the corpse again.
[You have received the following: great wolf fur x1, average wolf fur x1, average wolf canine x1.]
"..." Kirou was speechless.
In denial, Kirou hunted a dozen more wolves using a mix of weapons and empty hand combat, only to see the same message each time.
In the end, Kirou finally stopped hunting the poor wolves. He said nothing and thought nothing. All he did was to open his status menu, go to gameplay settings, and swapped it back over to 'manual.'
"Yea, I'm gonna pretend I didn't see anything and just go hand in this quest then go to bed. I've got to get up early and do my daily routine after all. I can't let my hobby stop me from building up this weak body after all." Kirou said this out loud as he turned around and made his way back to the village. During this time, he never once thought about what he had just done, nor even thought about testing out the other gameplay mode.
It's as if he erased everything that happened in the last half-hour from his mind and had no intention of repeating it, ever. It wasn't until he finally made it back into the village, seeing the players scurrying about, that another thought went through his mind.
'You guys have it tough. Maybe I should sell you the materials to complete that quest.' No sooner had the thought flashed into his mind that he shook it from his thoughts. 'Yea, no. That sounds like work and I'm not gonna do that. Best of luck you guys. You are gonna need it.'
Kirou was currently lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling with unfocused eyes. It was currently five in the morning. Due to the gaming helmet putting his body into a state of rest while he played the game, his body felt quite refreshed. This, however, did nothing to alleviate the fatigue of his mind he felt from gaming the whole night so he was currently staring off into space. After spending a few more minutes like this, Kirou eventually got up and made a simple breakfast. After eating his fill and washing up, he did a set of stretches before leaving his apartment. Kirou ran a few miles before returning to his apartment, washed off the morning sweat, and got ready for work. It was after seven when he finally left the apartment for work.By the time Kirou got to work, it was already 8:30 and his shift started at 9. Kirou spent this time in a daze as well and it wasn't until his shift started that focus seemed to return to his
Kirou was currently in his wolf form walking up to the village head of Elderwood Village, Old Wolf. He was originally planning to do this before he logged out in the morning but he had some things to think about that took the whole day.The reason he was so out of it while working was due to his discovery of a certain item equipped on him that shouldn't even exist in the game. That isn't a correct statement as the item in question shouldn't even exist in this world. The item in question was a certain mysterious bead. The mysterious bead took up one of his accessory slots and he couldn't check its details. What was even weirder was that whenever he tried to unequip the bead, he kept getting the following message;[System Message: Item is soul-bound and cannot be unequipped.]This message kept bugging Kirou as he tried removing the bead. He had no idea how the bead followed him into the game or became
To the north of Elderwood Village was a swampland. This swampland was filled to the brim with various reptilian and amphibian monsters. In one section of this swampland, there was a small scale battle currently going on. In this battle, a few giant poison frogs were surrounding a werewolf equipped with a small knife. Naturally, this werewolf was Kirou.Kirou had been roaming this forest for a few hours now. He had been looking for the right material to make his armor from. So far he's come across various forms of frogs, snakes, lizardmen, and crocodiles. His latest opponents are a variant species of frogs called Giant Poison Frogs.Monster: Giant Poison FrogLevel: 9HP: 850Skills: Leap, Poison Spit, Tongue StrikeKirou was currently surrounded by half a dozen of these frogs at the moment, all intent on turning Kirou into their lunch. Kirou was currently meditating under a tree. He had just finished fighting a dozen swamp crocodiles and needed to rest to recover his health. At least, that's how it looked from the perspective of the party trying to surround him.Kirou had noticed that party following his trail long before they did, a by-product of his constant use of shadow teleportation. In fact, he had even overheard their conversation due to the 'Keen Senses' trait that he has that is always active when he's outside of the village. At the moment he was pretending to rest to see just how they planned to achieve their goal. He was acutely aware of the lycan thief trying to get behind him.In his eyes, the stealth skill that the thief was too good for him. While the skill itself was good, the user was doing a piss poor job of utilizing it. Even without his keen senses active or the intuition he's honed from years of fighting other assassins, he could s
Currently, outside of the swampland north of Elderwood Village, an elf can be seen traveling westward. Just like all elves, this one looked quite handsome but if one was to take a closer look at him they would realize that this elf was currently pale as a ghost. Naturally, this elf was Hidden Bow, the only surviving member of the party that Kirou recently decimated.Hidden Bow couldn't stop himself from constantly looking over his shoulder as the events that took place in the swampland still frightened him. Somehow, joining a random party to do a quest resulted in him meeting such a dangerous person. If someone had told Hidden Bow this before he left Thousand Wood Village earlier that day, he probably would have laughed it off. He couldn't do that now though. The conversation he had with Kirou kept replaying in his mind. This was especially so whenever he looked back at the items he currently had in his inventory.``````
Staring back at the boss monster in front of him, Kirou didn't back down but grew excited instead. A monster that could cause the hairs on his skin to rise was something he hadn't experienced fight in this game yet. Kirou didn't plan to back down after finding this beast but he didn't immediately attack it. So far the creature itself hasn't attacked Kirou and that told Kirou he hadn't drawn its ire just yet.Kirou and his clones retreated a few meters from the beast and the beast gave Kirou a wary look before closing its eyes once again. Once Kirou was sure his actions wouldn't cause the beast to rush him instantly, he looked inside his inventory. After searching through all the materials he's found, he found what he was looking for and took them out. What he took out was a set of leather armor he bought from Elderwood Village. He wanted to use it as a model for the armor he would later create but the boss monster in front of him gave him the feeling that he wou
Same as before, Kirou ignored the server announcement and looked at his current stats after leveling up.[You have reached level 10.]{Name: Kirou}{Race: Werewolf(Lycan/Human)}{Class: Weapon Master}{Subclass: Crafting Master}{Level: 10}{HP: 336/336}{MP: 280/280}{Str: 26.5 (22+4.5)}{Int: 10 (-10)}{Def: 21}{Const: 28 (23+2+3)}{Dex: 20 (18+2)}{Agi: 23.5 (18+2+3.5)}{Luck: 55/100}{Skill Points: 33}{Fame: 2500}{Money: 1000 g/21 s/50 c}Looking at his stats, Kirou was quite surprised that he managed to jump two levels from defeating that boss. Thinking about it further, it was a level 15 boss fight and he nearly died due to its corpse almost falling on him. If he didn't get an extra level from that fight then this game truly was biased against half-lings, much more than they already are.
Kirou was currently in Village Tailor Sam's cottage. After returning from the swampland more than twenty minutes ago, he has been in the cottage, sorting the items in his inventory. He had hunted so many monsters and gotten so many materials that he currently needed to organize them before he could even start figuring out where to start. After another five minutes of organizing, Kirou was finally able to finish sorting his items. Taking a look back at the amount in his storage, Kirou couldn't help the wry smile forming on his lips. He had to spend so much time going through so many items all because he went overboard with his hunting. Shaking his head free of those thoughts, Kirou turned to face Tailor Sam who was patiently waiting for him from the moment he entered the cottage. Unlike the other areas in the village where players normally commute, the tailor shop rarely saw traffic after players got to a certain level. This was because they could now receive arm
It's been a few days since Kirou returned to the with his new residents. During this time, both old and new residents worked hard to turn the shallow and empty area into a proper village. With the initial houses Kirou had built as a base and starting area, the village extended a bit into the forest, with the goal being to recover land for both farming and extending the village even further in the future. Unsurprisingly, all residents decided to keep living above ground, leaving the passage that led to the pier being the only path they trod. In contrast, the remaining floors were left for Kirou's purposes after all the excavation work was complete. Speaking of the excavation work, Kirou was given a surprise earlier that day when he explored the two floors situated above the pier and below the village on the surface. It seems that during the time that he was away from the village and holed up in the pier area after returning, his residents had come together to fully ex
The Garuda player and his squad from the guild have finally returned to the Seaside Village. Unlike the trip to the pirate hideout that took 5 hours, the return trip only needed half that time. The Garuda player mainly returned here instead of continuing his hunt or returning to his guild as he was curious to see the results of that quest he never got the chance to finish. He was also interested in seeing if he would be able to meet that strange Lycan player he had initially pursued. Unfortunately, his second wish would go unanswered for quite a time. Upon entering the location of the Seaside Village, what greeted the Garuda player and his squad was essentially a ghost town. The village lacked any sign of life and it looked like its inhabitants were in quite the rush to leave. At this point, one squad member, a Lycan, spoke up, "Looks like these guys wasted no time in making themselves scarce as if wanting to avoid us like the plague. What say you now, Boss?" The G
Returning to the moment the Garuda player and his squad had entered the Drarven Village turned pirate camp, Kirou and the former captives have now arrived at the shores of the Seaside Village. He had already guessed what had happened when he found the Village Head's son as one of the captives on the pirate ship, but seeing the current state of the Seaside Village forced a deep sigh out of Kirou's mouth. Even then, he still had a job to finish, so he shook his mind free of their random thoughts and focused on what was ahead of him. Seeing the pirate ships coming close, the remainder of the village was once again arming themselves for combat. Sadly, there were a lot fewer able-bodied persons capable of fighting this time, so morale was at its absolute worst for the villagers. Even the Village Head, the fiercest fighter in the village in the previous bout, was now struggling to raise his weapon in the face of the returning pirate crew. From a glance, it was quite apparent to these vill
Kirou was currently making his way back to the Seaside Village via the ships used by the pirates. He needed a secure way to transport all the women and children that were captured back to the village without injury and in a timely manner, and .... it's not like the previous owners had much use for these ships anymore. As for controlling and navigating the ships themselves, Kirou had no part in that as he lacked the necessary experience and skill needed to do so. Instead, this job was taken over by the captured women that were previously held captive in the resting area of the camp by those pirates. Apparently, they were part of a crew of sailors that got captured at sea. Their ship had recently gone through a bad storm and most of the crew got injured in the process. Those that survived the storm thought that things would be fine when another ship passed by in their time of need. Sadly, their hopes were dashed as this ship was filled with pirates. When the pirates found and boarded
While all that was going down back at the Seaside Village, Kirou was already making his moves in the enemy stronghold. It's now been fifteen minutes since Kirou initiated his plan. Stealth and subterfuge were the game's name, and Kirou had to make severe commitments to follow through on his plans. He started out by summoning two clones, which he then sent to specific places to hide until he gave the signal. Following this, he rushed back to the cave where the kids were being kept captive. Unlike his prior visit where most of his was spent searching for their location, this time he would be able to deal with them without as much trouble. That said, he remained hidden in a dark spot while watching the actions of the captors and their captives. As he did this, he silently retrieved an item from his inventory. It was a small canister-like object that almost anyone would recognize if they saw it. Besides the main body in this cave, his clones pulled out similar objects, a few of whic
After leaving the village, Kirou has been heading northwest for roughly two hours. During this trip, he made multiple adjustments to his heading after using his skill to investigate his surroundings. The downside of this was that he had to chug down multiple potions to replenish his quickly spent [MP] after each trip. It was at this time that Kirou slowed and silenced his steps. This is because the stronghold for those human traffickers was within his sights. Having stopped behind a tree, Kirou calmed his breathing and steadied his heart rate. After doing so, he peered from behind the tree, gazing at his targets going about their business in the large base. The base itself was an abandoned seaside village that seemed to have been occupied initially by dwarfs. Along with a few lodging houses, there were a few paths dug into the hill directly behind the houses. The houses themselves were spread out and made in a style similar to inns, but the size of the windows
A few weeks have passed since Kirou had the discussion with both Cain and Jackson by the underground lake. Unlike the empty and somewhat desolate space that it was before, the underground lake was starting to look like a proper workspace for ships and people alike. More buildings had been constructed on the land area, with one side set up to properly reflect a shipyard and the other to reflect an underground harbor for ships. As for the water, multiple ports had been erected for both ship and civilian use. Hell, a few small boats were already making use of the new docking facilities that were recently created. As for how this happened, Kirou could only say that he got extremely lucky with his excursions outside the <Phantom Palace>. *******Flashback******* *Three days after the discussion with Jackson and Cain* Kirou was currently farming mining resources points.
It's been a few hours since Kirou and his group, along with the recent additions, returned to the <Phantom Palace>. Kirou only left some instructions with the girls and Mistaken Fox for the former bandits while he invited both Jackson and Cain to follow him to the underground pier. The trio was currently sitting around a small table, Kirou drinking some tea while both Jackson and Cain stared at him in confusion. This went on for a few minutes before Jackson spoke up. "Young Master, would you mind explaining why you've brought both of us down here?" Cain maintained his silence, but he gave a slight nod in agreement to Jackson's words. Kirou only glanced at the duo for a few moments before turning his eyes to the waters of his underground port. As soon as he finished his tea, Kirou spoke, "I'll be leaving for the <Beast Continent> within the next two weeks." T
Kirou and Jackson took a few minutes to work out the finer details of the <Blood Oath> that they wanted Cain to make. During this time, Cain genuinely contemplated committing suicide multiple times. The reason behind this was that neither Kirou nor Jackson bothered to lower their voices during their discussion, allowing Cain to hear all of their depraved ideas to include in the oath. The thought of escaping entered Cain's mind multiple times, only to be dismissed almost immediately. Not counting the fact that he was injured at the moment, even if he wasn't, he still had to contend with the creatures surrounding him. And even if he could somehow get through those creatures, there was still a large group he had to fight through, not to mention both Kirou and Jackson. With those thoughts in mind, Cain resigned himself to the whims of the two bastards holding him captive. Both Kirou and Jackson could see that Cai
