After leaving the area with the members of the Katsuji Clan that were bound, Wang Xu and Shirona Yui were currently walking through the quiet streets. The duo walked in silence for a few minutes, each with their own thoughts.
It wasn't until five minutes later that Shirona Yui broke the silence, "Are you sure that it was alright to have left things the way that you did? Knowing Katsuji Natsume, not only will she be reporting this failure to her family's elders, she'll be sure to do a thorough background check on you before making her next move."
Wang Xu listened in silence as Shirona Yui spoke, showing a calm expression on his face. After she was finished, the corner of his lips curved upward slightly before he spoke in a carefree tone, "As I told her, I was already involved the moment they decided to go after you in my presence. Even if I had refrained from doing anything and they did capture you, their next objective would have been to sil
The next morning, Department Head Shirona Yui woke up feeling refreshed. If she was being honest with herself, it has been quite a while since the last time she's had any fun like this. With that thought in mind, Shirona Yui turned over in bed, only to discover that the other side was empty. At first, she was a bit confused, wondering if the events of the previous day were just all her imagination. After carefully going over those memories and checking her current state of dress or lack thereof, this confusion morphed into a state of self-depreciation.'Sigh. It seems that I'm the only one that enjoyed last night if he's already gone before I even woke up.' There was a sad smile on Shirona Yui's face as she thought this as she touched the side of the bed that Wang Xu was on the night before, not feeling the slightest hint of warmth.Feeling disappointed, Shirona Yui grabbed the bedsheet and wrapped it around her body bef
Having dropped off his parcel and message to their intended target, Wang Xu was now walking the halls of the gaming studio with a laidback expression. He had just made good on his end of the deal with Department Head Shirona and now he was free to spend his lunch in a relaxed manner. That isn't to say that he found having lunch with her to be an issue, but that he wanted her to take some time to think about the events that took place on the previous night. While he wasn't a part of their conflict initially, his interference was bound to result in some backlash later on. For now, he wants her to focus on gaining some strength, no matter how little she can before the next incident takes place. That was the least Wang Xu could do for her after getting involved. After thinking up to that point, Wang Xu also remembered the events that transpired afterward, which caused him to release a few chuckles. That resulted in a few per
As soon as he regained consciousness, Kirou realized that he was now standing at the entrance to SC Pier City. Immediately after, he opened up his friends' list to check if everyone was online.Seeing that they were, Kirou sent each of them a simple message, following which, he closed the list and left SC Pier City's surroundings with extreme haste. As soon as he got far enough, he summoned out his Blood Shadow Wolf and mounted the beast before speeding off even faster towards his desired location.Along the way, Kirou went over all of the equipment currently in his possession, mainly the weapons he's crafted. Due to his busy schedule, he's still yet to craft another set of armor from the book of incomplete blueprints he was given. That being said, the basic armor that he was equipped with at the moment was more than enough to meet his current needs. Having said that, he did make note that his next objective was to craft
A few minutes earlier, Kirou and the others were heading deeper into the tunnel when he heard some voices. Since he was in his Lycan form at the moment, his hearing was much sharper than the rest of the players present. Still, it was only slightly better than the two elves in the group as they noticed these sounds a few seconds after. Kirou stopped the group and gave each of them a glance, informing the two clueless players about the dangers ahead. After a quick nod on their part, two shadow clones immediately formed beside Kirou as the rest prepared for battle. Less than thirty seconds later, a few persons entered the area that Kirou and his party were in. It only took him a second to confirm his suspicions about their identities, following which, he sprung into actions. Seeing Kirou make a move, the rest of the party didn't hesitate, as they too joined in on the action. The other side was completely caught off gu
As Kirou fell over the cliff, there was a distinct lack of an expression on his face. Unlike the fear and apprehension of a weak-willed person or the excitement that would be present on the face of a thrill-seeker, Kirou's facial expression was one of indifference. It was as if he wasn't actively falling to his death, but was instead dealing with a mundane task. While the members of the bandit stronghold still had their attention focused on the siege attacks, Kirou's figure was getting closer to the base's interior. Conversely, this also meant that he was that much closer to the ground without anything to cushion his fall, nor could he deploy something as attention-grabbing as a parachute behind enemy lines. Instead, the moment Kirou was close enough to the ground, roughly twenty meters or so, he deployed his wires to a nearby structure and used them to alter his trajectory. Instead of going splat on the floor and
Those words made Cain freeze in his tracks as he recognized the voice of someone whom he really wanted to avoid at this moment. The voice reminded him of a certain wire-wielding lycan that made him move up his plan to abandon the former bandit village.'Please, no. Anyone but him,' pleaded Bandit Leader Cain as he prayed to whatever deity that would listen to his prayers.Sadly, it seems like they all ignored his pleas as he saw a familiar figure appear from around the corner, trailed by a few prisoners. Cain didn't even bother to stare at the captives currently bound by chains but instead focused solely on the man, er.... werewolf leading the group.Upon fully recognizing the face of the figure he didn't want to see, Bandit Leader Cain clenched the hand holding the sword tightly before speaking through gritted teeth, "To what do I owe the pleasure of seeing you here, Lycan?"Even though he asked thi
It's been twenty minutes since Kirou's clone destroyed the barracks and armory. From Jackson and the others' perspective, the entire stronghold had grown a bit too quiet. It the group a minute or two to decide to check things out for themselves. After leaving their designated area, the group walked for a few minutes before they stood at the entrance of the stronghold. The group took in the destruction of the walls and gate of the stronghold for a few seconds before they crossed the damaged bridge. As the group passed the gate and surveyed the area, they noticed the various corpses thrown all over the place. This sight left each of them with complex emotions, especially Jackson. That said, this was the result of their request so they had no right to comment on the aftermath, nor would they. Instead, the group took it all in as they started walking deeper into the stronghold. After walking for
The twenty bandits thought long and hard about their choice. Everyone else was staring at them, each wondering what choice these bandits would make. The five bandit leaders wanted the twenty to choose the first option to not have to experience even more pain on top of their already slow and painful execution. The former bandits that followed Jackson wanted the twenty to join them as not only are they strong, their loyalty to their leaders was touching. As for the players, they hoped that the twenty would choose the third option and just leave. Just like the former bandits, they too found that the loyalty of these men was worth keeping alive and that they should be free to make their own decisions on their futures. As for the man who offered these options and the halfling lycan forcing them to make a choice, their thoughts on the matter couldn't be observed by anyone else in the area.
