Jean was well aware that Chris and William were incredibly busy.

Her matter was something personal. It certainly didn't deserve as much attention as the tasks they had to attend to.

"Sure. Focus on your work first. I'll wait for your call," she said.

After that, she hung up.

Yvette played it cool and casually glanced at Jean's phone screen. Unfortunately for her, Jean was using a privacy screen protector.

She raised her eyebrows in mild surprise, no longer stealing any glances in Jean's direction.

Jean stared ahead after ending the call.

She said in a matter-of-fact tone, "Things should be hectic for Mr. Jacobs at this time. Your grandmother is in the hospital, and Ms. Stirling is a tough nut to crack."

Yvette sighed in frustration.

"Those women have too many bad tricks up their sleeves. They just have to ruin things every year."

Helplessness was written all over her face.

Then, she pursed her lips and chuckled. "Don't tell me that you're taking a pass on Toby because of ou
