Chapter 268 Not Particularly Fond

Albert, the butler, had put things simply. However, Jean could discern the underlying meaning.

It had been Esme who had kept Dorian company over the years because Joyce had paid little to no attention to the kid.

Dorian used to be distant from Esme due to his personality, but it was clear that her company had changed something in him. It made him more accepting of her.

It seemed that Dorian wasn't completely against Esme's presence.

She wanted more people to love and care for Dorian, but she didn't want Esme to be one of them.

She thought it was probably due to her unfavorable impression of the Page family, especially after all she had gone through involving Lilian.

Furthermore, Esme was a pampered young lady from a rich family. Jean was doubtful that the woman was being genuinely good to her son.
