Chapter 239 A Foreboding

Expressionless, Luke exited the Michaels' family residence.

Everybody knew Jean had a strained relationship with her family. Judging from what happened today, it was evident why things weren't harmonious within the family.

As Luke was about to get in the car, he heard the sound of objects being smashed in the living room.

A tinge of embarrassment flashed across Dorothy's eyes. Before she could say anything, Luke said, "Madam, you should probably go in first."

Dorothy forced a smile and reluctantly turned to enter the house.

Inside the living room, chaos reigned.

Raging, Joyce smashed what remained of the decorations.

Dorothy entered the house with a dark face. She strode toward Joyce and slapped her across the face.

Joyce didn't expect that coming, and her face fell. Caught off guard, she fell to the ground.

Her palm landed on the broken glass shards scattered on the floor, causing her to bleed.

Joyce winced in pain, her face turning pale. She quickly pulled her hand away
