Breaking the news

Jimmy walks into the house and meets his parents in the sitting room; His mother was busy reading a book as it helped calm her anxiety while his father was watching the news. They were both relieved to watch him walk in, although for different reasons.

Susan was glad that he hadn’t dared the officer by leaving the city, she knew Jimmy was more than capable of doing that, while James was just glad that his son had come back, so now they could discuss fixing the company stock price which has been dwindling.

“Hey Pops, Mom,” Jimmy said lightheartedly as he walked into the living room.

“Jimmy? Where did you go?” his father asked immediately and lowered the volume of the television.

“To see a friend, why? Is there a problem?” he asked less concernedly.

“What do you mean, is there a problem? You know we are supposed to deal with the company issue soon or we will be going out of business in a few months,” James uttered.

“Oh, that? Well I already fixed that.” Jimmy smiled.
