Minutes later, I was sitting at the same spot we had sat the previous night but now with a considerable amount of space between us. I had poured myself a drink but he was standing beside the fridge, gulping down a bottle of water. I still couldn’t shake the awkward feeling off of me. Why did he apologise for leaving like that?
