Iyunade walked into the house to meet her two housemates, Bunmi and Stella, in the living room watching their favourite Crime Investigation series, Hawaii Five-O while munching on popcorn.
"What's up girls?" she greeted as she went to sit on the sofa.
Olubunmi Soriyan, a girl Iyunade as always envied.
She was one of the most beautiful ladies in the university of Ibadan.
A beautiful light-skinned girl who stood at 5 feet 7 inches. Her hair was cut low in the famous Anita Baker style and she was blessed with dark eyes framed with long thick lashes.
She was also in the Agricultural Science Department like Iyun. She wasn't from a very rich home, but her family was comfortable and not lacking in anything. One thing to note about Bunmi was her preference for older, father-figure like men. There was no reason, she just preferred them.
While Stella Enoabasi was dark-skinned and had curly dark natural hair with doe-like brown eyes. She could be described as cute due to her petite stature and innocent-looking facial features.
However, what she lacked in height, she made up for in curves in all the right places. Stella, like Iyun, had to cater for her family which consisted of herself and two brothers who were living with one of their aunties from her mother's side. They had lost their parents in a fire accident four years ago. She was in the Department of Economics.
Whenever the three of them went to a public place, they turned heads. It was just a norm for them and they didn't care anymore.
"Iyun! Iyun! Iyunade, The Number One! Any other Iyunade is a counterfeit," Stella praised, raising her two hands up like a person about to be arrested and stomping her slipper-clad feet on the ground.
"Stella, how many times do I have to complain for you to stop praising me like that?," Iyunade asked with a grin.
"Babe, na you na (It's you)," replied Sarah.
"Wo, na you sabi sef. How you dey na babes? (How are you babes?)," she said turning to Bunmi.
"I dey oo but I no too happy right now (I am fine but I am not too happy)," Bunmi replied, making Iyun smirk.
"Bunmi Bunmi, what happened this time between you and Senator Oladipupo?" Iyun asked knowingly.
She had known Bunmi for a very long time. They had met and become friends since their first day in the University. She was even with Bunmi when she met the Senator for the first time. They had met Stella shortly after that. Somehow they had gelled and become fast friends even with their different personalities and backgrounds.
The Senator always did his best to take very good care of Bunmi. He was the one who got the 3-bedroom apartment they were living in at a lease. His reasoning being that no girl of his and her friends would be caught staying in a common cluttered campus hostel.
Each of the rooms in the apartment had its own toilet and bathroom, so the girls had their privacy when they wanted it. The apartment also had a fully furnished living room, dining area, kitchen and a mini store. The Senator got them a generator capable of powering the entire apartment and a solar inverter. Indeed, the girls were living in comfort.
Iyun knew Bunmi was not always happy whenever she and her sugar daddy, Senator Oladipupo, had a disagreement. And it seemed like that was the case now.
"You know me too well, Iyun. Yes, the senator has started again. He says we can't meet this week again. It's been two weeks since we last saw each other and I am getting broke," Bunmi complained and Iyun smiled.
She couldn't stop being jealous of Bunmi's life. Bunmi had everything she wanted, she had a well-paying sugar daddy unlike that stupid Chief Adeakin. She didn't have any problems in her life like her piled-up ones.
"You complain too much. I am sure the Senator is just busy, you know he can't joke with you," she assured Bunmi.
"I know na. But I have missed him."
Iyun and Stella glanced at each other before erupting into laughter.
"Na im you miss, abi im money? O girl, na wa for you o," Stella said in between laughter.
Bunmi glared at Stella before flinging the throw pillow at her. Iyun shook her head at them and wiped away the tears that had slipped out whilst she was laughing.
"Now to business. Girls, I need a well-paying job tonight. I desperately need ego (money)," she told them as she looked from one to the other. "So if you know any, abeg hook a girl up."
"Hmmmm. I get one job like that but I no know if you fi do am (I have a job but I don't know if you can do it)," Stella said.
Iyun gaped at Stella like she had grown a horn on her head.
"Stella, you are funny o. Why won't I be able to do it? Na money we dey talk about o (It is money we are talking about oo). All you just have to do is give me the details of the job and I am off," Iyun assured.
"The job is to be a waitress at Onyx Club around Dugbe area. The club is a very big and popular place for the rich. An added advantage for the workers is that they get to cover their faces with masks," Stella explained.
"Ahhh! Stella, you are not good o. We have been in this house since morning and you didn't tell me about the job," Bunmi accused.
"Aunty! Shut up. Why will I tell you when I know the Senator will send money to you soon. It is only Iyun I can introduce to job offers like this," Stella replied.
"Thank you, my friend. Leave Bunmi alone o, she is hungry that's why she is saying rubbish. Let me go and try to sleep before tonight jare," Iyun said as she stood up.
"This is how you people will be excluding me everytime," Bunmi grouched in reply.
I pray I get enough money tonight oo. Iyun thought as she walked to her room.
Tunde watched as his friend Caleb ogled at the waitresses in the club. He knew Caleb would definitely be taking one home tonight. They had known each other for a long time now, since primary school to be precise. They had been good friends, even with the distance to their Universities.
Iyunade was really trying hard to concentrate on the book in front of her but her mind kept taking her back to that moment in the club with the handsome guy.It had been two weeks since the awkward club incident but she kept having flashes of the other guy's face, his smile, quiet brooding demeanor everywhere she went. She was puzzled at what was happe
Iyunade stalked angrily to the Faculty of Law. If she were to be a cartoon character, she was sure smoke fumes would have been seen coming out of her ears. With a grunt, she continued on towards the faculty. She couldn't believe Bunmi and Stella had persuaded her to bring the notes they forgot at home. Not only that, they
Iyunade ran into a very dirty compound with different bags of waste littered around. The odour oozing out of the bags was strong enough to wake the dead. On a normal day, she would have lamented about the state of the compound but right now, all she had on her mind was her father.
The way her mother sprung up from her seat shattered Iyunade's heart. Her mother ran to her with questions in her eyes which she soon began to ask."What did the doctor say? Is your father going to be okay? Has he awoken? Can we see him now?" her mother inquired impatiently, shooting one question after the other at her.
Tunde jolted up from his bed from the sound of things being shattered downstairs. He wanted to believe it was a robbery attack but he knew deep down that his parents were at it again. They just couldn't stop fighting and he was getting extremely frustrated. When will this nonsense ever stop in this house?&
Iyunade walked slowly and cautiously into the uncompleted building beside the male hostel. The most dangerous place inside the University of Ibadan. It was known as the leisure spot for The Bandits, the most popular gang on the campus. The school authorities had tried every means necessary to rid the campus of the gang, but it all proved futile. However, they still tried to restrict their activitie
Iyunade increased her speed as the sound of running feet got louder. Sweat and tears in a mixture as if she was a mixologist at a bar. She hadn't bargained for this and the mere remembrance of what she had witnessed some hours before almost brought the bile rushing through her throat.
Iyunade cautiously asserted Tunde's large room. It was quite neat and well arranged and that made her wonder if he was someone who liked well organized things or maybe the maids were assigned to take care of the room. She turned her eyes back to her side where Tunde, whose eyes were fixed to the movie shown on the Television, sat. She took the opportunity to acknowledge his facial features and she could now see the resemblance between him and his mom she had met at the kitchen a few hours ago. As she continued to stare at him, she began to wonder why there was a bad atmosphere between him and his mother. He had sounded very round and she was sure with the few days she had gotten to know him, he wasn't someone who would be rude to his parents, especially his mother. The image of the way his mother's eyes sparked with disgust while they had their argument flashed through her eyes and that made her more curious and confused at the same time. "You seem to have something on your
Tunde walked into the kitchen slowly with Iyunade in his arms.Mama Ife who was already in the kitchen with Ife turned to them."Oh Olatunde, good morning. Nice, she is finally awake." Mama said as
Tunde walked into his parents living room with Iyunade sleeping in his arms. She had fallen asleep inside the car and her body was beginning to burn up with temperature.Ife who was the only person in the living room immediately jumped up from where she was sitting.
Iyunade walked sluggishly down the corridor of her and her friend's apartment. She was still very sleepy but she had to wake up early because she had an eight o'clock lecture. She cou
"Iyunade!!" Iyunade jolted out of her dazed state as Stella shouted her name. She immediately turned to where Stella was sitting. They both were sitting in their hostel's sitting room

"Iyunade!!" Iyunade jolted out of her dazed state as Stella shouted her name. She immediately turned to where Stella was sitting. They both were sitting in their hostel's sitting room but Iyunade had been in deep thoughts."You know I have been called your name more than four times now.?" Stella raised her brows." Oh! I am so sorry. I was just lost in my thoughts." Iyunade replied."Why do I have a feeling that you were thinking about Tunde?" Stella asked, making Iyunade's eyes widen. She couldn't even deny it because Stella had guessed right. It's been a month since she and Tunde became friends and she was starting to know things about him. He wasn't as how she and her friends had thought he would be. He hasn't shown any behavior she should be worried about. But,he travelled to Abuja three days ago and he hasn't called her or even messaged her. His number was not even reachable when she called it. She was beginning to get worried and scared as different questions kept crossing her mi
Chief Adeakin rolled the pen between his fingers as he stared at the picture of Iyunade and Tunde that had been taken outside Kenneth Dike Library, in the University of Ibadan.Anger was an understatement to what he was feeling right now. What he was feeling was equivalent to rage.He felt himself roll the pen faster between his fingers. "Anything yet?" he asked before he raised his head to look at Patrick who was standing at the other side of his office."No sir. I haven't found anything yet," Patrick replied.Chief Adeakin immediately dropped his pen and placed his index finger and thumb on the bridge of his nose."Why is it so difficult for you to find anything about her? I have a hunch that she must have done something bad elsewhere. She can't only be stealing my money. Like you said, she is the one providing for her family. This means she would have been doing other things to get money," the Chief said."But do you think she would do something like that outside? She doesn't look
Tunde had a lot on his mind as he hurriedly walked out of the lecture room. He had been waiting and expecting Iyunade's call throughout the weekend, with the hope that she would accept his offer. But there had been no call, not even a flash. His phone suddenly vibrated inside his pocket. He had put it on vibration mode when he was about to enter the lecture room earlier. Dipping his hand into his pocket, he pulled out his phone. He smiled on seeing the caller ID and immediately tapped on the accept button."Hmm! What did I do to deserve this August call? I hope there is nothing for me to be worried or scared about," he said smiling as he walked through the department corridor."Hello to you too. I think the word to use should be cautious, not scared," Emmanuel's voice echoed into Tunde's ear."Cautious? What is it about? Did something happen?" Tunde asked worriedly."Hey man, calm your horses. There is nothing to be scared about. I just did a little research on that murder case and I
