Lucy opened her eyes and groaned out in pain. The work was too much for her. Before she was done and checked the time, it was 4:00 am , so she decided to rest a little.
She stretched her body, yawning. Her hair was messy, her eyes were red and swollen, dried saliva on her face. She was the perfect definition of walking dead.
She stood , massaging her sore butt and strolled to the washroom, and washed her face , using her finger to arrange her hair. She walked out of the restroom, picking the flies on the desk and her bag . She dashed out of her office walking to Mr Santiago office, she opened the door, dropping the flies on his table.
" It's time to go home and freshen up, I'm really stinky" she ran out of his office, entering the elevator .
The elevator door opened, she rushed out not looking where she was going, suddenly she bumped into someone.
" Ouch " she massaged her forehead.
" Morning Ms Vega, are you okay?
" Yes, just had loads of work, so i decided to sleep at the office, " she yawned.
" Why don't you go home and rest? '' he patted my shoulder. She shakes her head in denial .
" Mr Santiago won't allow that".
" You don't have to worry , I will sort it out ".
" Really" she asked surprised.
" Affirmative " he nodded his head.
" Thank you sir" she bowed with a smile plastered on her face and rushed out of the company………………………….
Richard walked into his office, immediately his gaze landed on the pile of flies on his table.
" Oh my God!!Is this real? " he stared at the flies , feeling astonished. He never believed Lucy could finish up the work , rather he thought she quitted and ran for her life . He strode out of his office, running to hers. He jerked her door open but found it empty, immediately he checked his wristwatch realizing he was thirty minutes early. He went back to his office, sat down and sighed before going through the flies, having it in mind she would be present by 8:00.
TWO HOURS LATER.
" Urggh" he groaned massaging his forehead, he stared at the pile of flies he needed to work on and sighed in frustration…. He checked his wristwatch and noticed she should be in her office by now, he picked up his landline and called her office landline but got no response, he called again, still the same outcome. He decided to call the manager, he waited a few seconds until he picked up from the other end.
" Good morning Mr Santiago" he greeted.
" Morning" he replied nonchalantly, " I tried calling Ms Vega but she isn't picking, go to her office and check up on her ".
" Ms Vega isn't at her office and she won't be available today".
WHAT!!!!
" I'm sorry sir, it slipped my mind. I sent her on an important errand and won't be back early".
" Who gave you the audacity to send my PA on an errand without my permission. You are all good for nothing" he barked and hung up .
He felt sad and angry at the same time, not because he misses her but because she won't be available for him to taunt her .
Working with Lucy just for a day made him happy, frustrating her gives him so much joy and happiness, he wishes for it to never end. He growled going back to work.
Time went by really quick and it was time for all workers to quit and head to their various houses, but for Mr Santiago, it was fucking slow and boring since he had no one to taunt. He parked his bag , arranging the undone flies waiting for him tomorrow, and strolled out of the company.
A WEEK LATER
Lucy's pov
It's been fucking one week since i started working in glitter company and it has been hell for me .
Mr Santiago is a lot to take in , he made it his first priority to frustrate my life and he is doing a great job. If he isn't rendering insults at me , he is giving me work that is impossible to do. He derives joy in frustrating me, my only wish right now is the strength overlook whatever he brings my way..
I walked into his office. Good morning sir " I greeted, he nodded his head not sparing me a glance.
" What is my schedule for today?".
" You have a meeting with the board of directors in the next one hour, also Mr Patrick will be coming over to sign the contract and you have a dinner meeting by four o'clock. I made the reservation at FüD restaurant " I said , going through the flies on my hand .
" Okay , you may leave," he replied. I nodded my head and scurried out.
4:00 pm
FÙD RESTAURANT.
Bianca walked into the restaurant with her new boyfriend Mike . She broke up with four guys this week or should i say they broke up with her all because of her brother ( Richard).
He has refused to let her date , for reasons known to him alone . She sat down with her brother, the waiter walked up to them taking their order.
Seconds later , he came back with their meal .
' Here is your spaghetti and grilled chicken, " he smiled, handing the meal to bianca." And here is your wine" he dropped the glasses on the table, staring at milk. He opened the wine and poured into their glasses, giving them one last glance, he walked away .
Bianca picked up her glass , about to gulp the wine, when she sighted her brother.
" Ohhhh my god !!!I'm so dead, " she whispered, taking the menu from the table as she tried to hide her face .
" Babe , are you okay ?" Mike asked , surprised by her sudden behavior, she gave him a reassuring nod. She raised her head up only to see Richard staring at her angrily, she stared back, giving him a nervous look .
" Hi bro " she forced a smile .
" Bianca, what are you doing here and who is this ?" He asked , glaring dangerously at Mike .
" This is Richard my brother, and this is Mike my boy…………" Richard dragged mike up , landing a heavy punch on his face .
" Stay away from my sister " he growled, Lucy stood at the entrance as she watched the drama unfold . People were staring at them as they became the center of attention.
The security rushed to them , separating them .
" What are you doing? " she yelled. " What's wrong with you , how could you do this " she said, staring deeply into his eyes but got no response . He dragged her out to where his car was parked as Lucy followed behind.
" Listen Bianca, I don't wanna set my eyes on you with any guy" he said , facing her .
" Why" she scoffed, folding her hand under her boobs , " for crying out loud I'm twenty and old enough to make decisions . Why do you hate me ?" She cried as tears slid down her eyes.
" I don't want to talk about this anymore," he replied, ignoring her questions, making her laugh bitterly.
" Now i know why Scarlett left you , because you are ………."
" That enough " he landed a thunderous slap on her cheeks, making Lucy gasp out in shock.
" I'm sorry bianca, I didn't mean to hit you" he pleaded, realizing what he just did . She stared at him with Pain and anger .
" Stay far away from me " she cried out and left.
" Now what should i do?" He ruffled his hair in frustration. " Cancel the meeting, i need to cool off, " he said to Lucy who only nodded her head .
" And you are coming with me ".
" Where to sir ?".
" Don't ask questions, just follow" he replied, entering the back seat and Lucy entered the front seat with the driver.
" To the nearest bar" Oscar nodded and drove off.
The ride to the bar was silent as a graveyard, richard was focused on his phone typing furiously and Lucy played with her finger nervously.
Thirty minutes later.
They finally arrived at the bar, immediately the car stopped, Richard jumped out leaving Lucy behind. She came down from the car , grabbing her bag and walked into the bar . using her eyes to search for her boss, her eyes landed on him as he was focused on the whiskey he was consuming, she got to where he was seated , staring at him with pity in her eyes, dropping her bag she sat down.
" Did i ask you to sit ? He glared at her.
" I'm sorry sir" she stood up , like there was fire on the chair.
3 hours later .
Lucy used the table to support herself, as her legs were in serious pain , she has been standing for three hours now. She watched as he kept consuming more bottles and was dead drunk .
" Sit" he finally spoke, taking the last gulp from the fifteenth bottle.
" She hates me, " he said.
" Who?" she asked, like she didn't understand who he was referring to.
"Bianca, she thinks i hate her but don't know I'm only trying to protect her from getting hurt" he burped which made Lucy smile .
' Hurt from what ?" He raised his head to look at her , smiling sheepishly.
" No, no ,no " he shaked his head like a baby.
" I won't tell you my secret" Lucy raised up her hand in surrender.
" Okay if you don't want to tell me , then you can tell your sis ".
" Really!!
" Yes" she replied.
" Yayyyy" he clapped his hands like a baby , attracting people's attention, she stared at them , giving them an apologetic look.
" You are the best" he cupped her cheeks, smiling. Suddenly his eyes landed on her lips , he brought his lips closer making Lucy's heart race fast .
" OMG , what is he about to do ?" She muttered, feeling his breath on her face .
" Is he about to kiss me ?".
