We stepped outside, the cool morning air a stark contrast to the heavy atmosphere inside. As I looked around, my eyes fell on a sleek black motorcycle parked near the entrance. I whistled appreciatively. "You can get this awesome bike but can't... get a good porridge?"

Caleb chuckled, crossing his arms over his chest. "This bike's name is Shadow. And for the record, my cooking skills are just fine. It's the porridge that's lacking."

"Shadow, huh?" I walked closer to the bike, running my fingers along its polished surface. "You know, before I got taken by Adrian, I used to be a mechanic."

Caleb's eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Really? You?"

I nodded. "Part-time. Needed the cash for college. Since I don't have a wolf, I had to make myself useful in other ways."

"That's impressive." Caleb's voice was genuine, his usual teasing tone replaced with something warmer. "I wouldn't have guessed."
