LISA
“Lisa, can you just put the students out of their mysteries and continue dressing the way you did to the car racing game last week?”
I took my sweet time swallowing what was in my mouth and drinking from my boba drink. We were out in Sweet Things, one of the most popular cafes in school and since we got there, students wouldn't stop staring at me.
Just like they've not been able to stop staring at me since that game.
I'd thought slipping back to my normal style would stop them from recognizing me but apparently, all this bagginess wasn't enough to hide the fact that I was the girl that whooped Axel Ivanov’s ass a week ago, and didn't I just enjoy it?
I enjoyed putting Axel in his place, enjoyed seeing that defeated look on his face and I'd have loved it more if I had seen the look on his face when he got to know who I was.
I wanted to see the disbelief and annoyance on knowing that the girl he had treated like a common slut, the girl he had proposed to fuck all night, my lower abdomen tightened at the remembrance of those words, of the whispers against my ear, of the involuntary shiver those words had sent up my spine.
And I hated every bit of it. Both the fact that my body had even given the tiniest bit of reaction to someone like Axel Ivanov and the fact that I was even remembering it right now.
I hated it.
And I blamed it on the fact that it's been long, excruciating, and painfully long since I had a good fuck. Hell, that I had any fuck at all. It's been so long that I couldn't even remember the last time that I felt a man touch my body. I've been cool with my vibrators until now but if my body was showing the tiniest bit of reaction to someone like Axel, then I most definitely needed a man.
As fast as possible.
“Earth to Lisa,” Tana snapped two fingers in my front and it jolted me out of my reverie, “what were you thinking about?”
“Sorry,” I took a sip of my drink, “just thinking about the new programming I just came up with, I need to get back to the hostel real quick and start working on it.”
Tana’s eyes narrowed and she shook her head dramatically, “programming or Programming programming, don't you ever get tired?”
“Party! Party! Party!” I mimicked her tone, “Don't you ever get tired?”
“Why would anyone get tired of partying? It's fun!”
“Exactly! Why would anyone get tired of programming? It's fun.”
“God! Lisa, you're impossible,” she replied and we both chuckled before sipping from our drinks.
“I'm just telling you, Lisa, give the students what they want, they want the girl they saw last week during the race but now, you've slipped back into this nerdy nerdy girl. Girl, you were a total badass back then and I’d give anything to see that version of you again.”
“You’ll it once in a while when I want to unwind.”
Her eyes glistened with mad excitement.
“Talk about unwinding,” she leaned over the table eagerly, “there's a pool party on Friday and it's just the perfect perfect opportunity for you to unwind.”
“Hey sisters.”
We both turned to the voice or rather voices to see two girls smiling at us or rather me.
I groaned underneath my breath, knowing exactly why they were here. Since the game, random girls have been stopping back all over the school to praise me for being such an absolute badass.”
“Hi,” I muttered back, and the smiles on their faces deepened.
“We just wanted to confirm if you were the same girl from the race last week.”
“Yes, she is,” Tana bragged on my behalf and I rolled my eyes to the back of my head.
“Wow! You were such a badass!”
“A total badass!”
“We need more girls to be like you.”
“Daring and bold to challenge men and not take bullshit from them.”
“You were an absolute hottie behind those wheels, God!”
“That image of you was definitely worthy of being ok vogue’s cover.”
They rambled on and on and it was taking all my restraint not to gag their mouths and throw them out of the cafe. Tana on the other hand looked like she was gloating in all their praises.
“Can we please have your autograph?”
I raised an eyebrow, autograph?
But they were already placing two textbooks and a pen in front of me and I looked up to confirm if they really wanted me to sign my autograph on their books.
They were looking at me eagerly.
Wow.
“Go on, sign them,” Tana cheered, “you're now a celebrity.”
And that's all because of you. I thought to myself as I started signing the books. If Tana hadn't forced me to go the race, I wouldn't have been tempted to challenge Axel, then I wouldn't have won the race, then I wouldn't have this new fame in school and most importantly, Axel would never have to discover my identity or even know about my existence.
Not that it was bothering me in any way.
“See you around sister,” the two girls faked a bow before they turned around and they walked out of the cafe.
“Will I have to deal with this for the rest of the year?”
“Yes,” Tana replied me, “and glow in it please, glow in this your newfound fame, do you think it’s easy? You’re on your way to becoming just as popular as Axel Ivanov and I’m here for it.”
“I’m not here for anything, we’re not in secondary school and I’m not interested in dragging a popularity badge with some guy.”
“You won't be dragging anything with anyone, it's just... Think of it as a privilege.”
I started to say something to reply to her but the words died in my throat when I caught sight of someone entering the cafe.
God! Axel was sinfully handsome for his own good. Admitting that or pointing that face out didn't mean or add up to anything, I was just pointing out the truth and no matter how much I hated him and his existence, I just wasn't going to deny that fact.
He entered the cafe with a smile on his face and instead of shutting the door after him, he held it out for the girl coming after him and she smiled flirtatiously at him.
I rolledy my eyes to my skull.
He stepped into the cafeteria and none of the girls there even bothered to hide the fact that they were busy checking him out and trying to flirtatiously smile at him and call out at him and the asshole was just busy smiling and waving at them like a fucking celebrity before making his way to the counter to place his orders.
“Well well well” Tana’s voice brought my attention back to the table, “considering the fact that you trailed off mid-sentence to eye fuck the hell out of Axel, I guess your newfound popularity isn't the only good thing about you going to the race last week.”
Again, I rolled my eyes so much that they touched the back of my head.
“I'd rather eat shit than have sexual thoughts of someone like Axel.”
“Come on, I’d never understand your irrational hatred of him. Even before you met him last week, you've always hated the guy that just at the sight of him, most girls are already dripping.”
“I'm not like most girls and I guess some people are just not likable.”
“Not Axel, there's nothing unlikeable about him, just look at him, man is the real definition of a man with everything in the right proportions. I bet he fucks just as hard as he looks and his manners when it comes to girls, are completely unrivaled.”
If only you know the kind of venom that runs through his veins, the kind of torture his hands have wrecked on people, and the number of lives he had taken without blinking, y’all wouldn’t be so hot about him.
He collected his takeaway nylon and he started to turn back towards the door when his eyes met mine and he paused, his lips pressing into a snicker before walking out.
He only snickered at me but I felt my lower abdomen clench.
Another testament to the fact that I really need a good fuck or even any form of fuck as soon as possible.
I turned back to Tana.
“Tell me more about the pool party.”
LISAYou're needed at home. The message from Angel was as simple as that but I understood perfectly what it meant. I understood the unsaid words in the message. You're needed to get rid of someone.I splashed water on my face before walking out of the bathroom. Luckily for me, Tana wasn't around so I was saved from explaining to her that I was going home. Not that I've ever had to explain to her before, I just tell her that I have to go home because of an impromptu and she'd never even tried to probe.Hey Tana, have to go home for an emergency, will be back tomorrow.I fired a quick test to her as I walked out of the hostel to meet the black Sedan packed outside on that spot where it was always packed and I opened the back door, stepped inside only to..."What are you doing here?" was the question that left my mind at the image of Angel sitting on the other side of the car."A pleasant evening to you too," she sassed without looking up from her MacBook as she pressed a button on the
LISAI ignored the eyes and greetings of the maids as I matched into dad's study. As expected, Angel was sitting there with Steff. And dad too."Good evening dad, good evening Steff.""Good evening daughter, you didn't tell us you'd be home t...""You're home." Dad and Angel said at the same time and I scoffed out loud.I turned to Steff."Steff, please call your wife to order."His eyes narrowed at my tone and he glanced briefly at his wife who was busy sipping from her coffee as if she did not have a fucking care in this world."Do have your seat, Lisa.""Dad, I'm not here to...""Have your seat."I sat down at his tone. I didn't dare question that."So, now explain like a rational human being, what happened?""Angel here," I tilted my head towards her at the same time dad interrupted me."If this has to do with the business, then you'd refer to her as your Copa."I saw Angel snicker and I scoffed."It doesn't really have to do with the business and she's not my copa.""She is.""
AXEL"So, lemme get this straight, Lisa Volkov whooped your ass." Prince taunted while sitting in my kitchen and drinking my coffee."Prince, if you should as much mention the L in Lisa, I'm going to throw you out of my house."The reply I got from the bastard was a taunting chuckle."So she really beat you at your own game? Wow! I mean, I wasn't expecting any less from someone with her level of skill."I poured myself a cup of Coffee and settled opposite him on the kitchen island."But how come I never knew she was attending my school?""Do you even know about her existence?""Of course not, you said it yourself, the two daughters of the family are kept away from the public eye but they fooled us all by making us think they were raising them to be mafia princesses, not bloody assassins that'd take a life without a second thought.""Good that you know that.""But you're in charge of my security Prince, we should have known that she was attending my school.""What if I knew?" he threw
AXELI entered the dimly lit room in the basement with fans blowing heat and slightly obscuring the only source of light in the room at intervals. The guys bowed as a sign of respect as I walked from the entrance to where they had tied our guy up, arms together above his head and legs barely touching the ground. They'd prepped him well enough with the way he was panting and the way blood was gushing out from cuts all over his body.Good! Just like the way I like it.I stopped in front of him."Hello there, Mr. Sinclair," I greeted with my most polite voice, and his eyes, with a very ghastly cut on one of them fluttered open, "fancy seeing you here.""You bastard," he gritted out, blood, saliva, mucus, and all."No no no," my lips stretched into a teasing smile, "I don't think we've gotten to that part where you get to call me a bastard."I started circling him slowly as if I was checking out a piece of meat on the slabber with my index finger slowly drumming on my lower lip."And talk
LISA"Damn girl, this is the body you've been hiding from everyone? Girl, this is what we call hot girl summer, just look at you, I'd kill to be in a body like yours.""God Tana, you're hot, have you seen you?""I know I'm hot," she struck a pose that made her curves prominent, "but looks at yourself, this is Kim K and Bad girl Riri rolled in one body.""God!" my lips stretched into a smile that soon gave way into a chuckle, "you overhype wat too much.""I'm not overhyping you girl, you look like a total badass, I'm just... You'll see, we just need to get to the party and you'll see the number of heads you'll turn, all those men gotta be tripping.""Well," I sassed and stared at my reflection, I was all curves, perfect tits, flat tummy, perfect body, and the swimsuit I was wearing was doing a very good job revealing just how perfect my body is."Ready?""Sure."A couple of minutes later, we were walking into the pool party where loud music was blaring from the speaker, and there were
AXEL“Wow, is that not the chic that whooped...” the glare I shot Fred, my friend in school made him swallow his words immediately, “I mean the girl that challenged you during the race? Hot damn! She's hot as fuck.”Yeah, Lisa Volkov was really hot as fuck.I drowned the rest of my drink as my eyes followed the enemy’s movement. She was walking into the building with another girl but my whole attention was on her.Damn! She was really hot. And that piece of clothing she had on was doing nothing to conceal how hot she was. The swimsuit exposed every part of her body and the transparent white unbuttoned shirt she had on was not doing anything to hide her nudity. No doubt she was driving every single guy crazy with the gentle sashay of her body and bootie because every single guy had decided to abandon what they were doing and to openly lust after her.And she strutted to take her seat, acting oblivious to the madness she was unleashing with her body and I kept watching her, unable to
LISA"No, but really Lisa, that was so damn unfair."I rolled my eyes to the back of my skull as we walked into the school premises."What was?""How you acted at the party!" she yelled in exasperation, "am I even supposed to spell it out for you again?"I feigned ignorance, "how did I act?""God! Stop insulting my intelligence please or I'm going to have to wack your head."I chuckled, "but seriously Tana, I don't know what you're talking about.""Yes, you do, girl, you rejected all advances then you stripped like that! What the fuck?" she exclaimed get surprised again, "you stripped like a total professional, and right now, I'm starting to have mixed feelings and doubt. I'm not sure..." she paused and turned to look at me, "I'm not sure you don't have a secret identity now because that's stripping was too neat and clean. It was too professional.""It's just something that I do for fun. There's not that much about it.""That's too clean for something that you do just for fun and besi
LISAWas fate playing some sort of tricks on me because what's this?Like, why do things like this keep happening? We've been attending this school for three years and fine, Axel doesn't know about my existence and I was the only one that knows but despite that, I could count the number of times I've run into him on one hand. Granted, he was the most popular face in school but I could avoid seeing him as long as I avoid going to places where he always frequented, the popular joints in school. But now, Axel suddenly gets to know of my existence and we keep running into each other every minute. We coincidentally attend the same class, ran into each other at parties, ran into each other at libraries and cafeterias, and now, he was here again in the last place I expected to see him.I bit down on my lower lip, annoyance thrumming in my guts. I didn't want to deal with Axel any more than impossible. I didn't want to keep seeing him because being in his presence was not only suffocating but
LISA A YEAR LATER Have I just spent the absolute best year of my life? Yes. Best was such an understatement to describe the year I just had. Axel made sure to keep on his promise of being the best thing that has ever happened to me and each day was better than the last. And he also made sure to keep up with the promise of putting babies inside me during our honeymoon because here I was, heavily pregnant and the scan has confirmed that we were expecting twins. Axel has never allowed me to hear the end of it. He was always bragging about his skills and all those yadayada nonsense and that was how he was able to impregnate me during our three months honeymoon. Yeah, we did use three months for our honeymoon and I was sure we were the only couple that had done that. I wanted us to go back after a month but Axel had insisted that we spent three months and in the end, it was all because of me. He wanted me to learn all the things I've mentioned that I wanted to learn while making sure
AXELI still couldn't believe my eyes, just like I couldn't believe everything that had happened for the past 2 hours but one thing was real. Lisa was here by my side, wearing my ring as we walked out of the airport hand in hand and into the car that was already waiting for us.“But how did you do this?” I finally asked, speaking for the first time since I confirmed that she was the one sitting beside me on the plane, “how were you able to make that happen?” I asked as the car drove us to the hotel we booked for our honeymoon. “My brother-in-law helped me,” she sassed, leaning closer to me like she has been doing since we entered the car. It was like she couldn't believe that I was here and she needed to feel my body to confirm that. Not that I was complaining though. I'd gladly allow her to enter my body if that's why she needed it. “Your brother-in-law? Prince?” I asked incredulously suddenly slammed with the idea that Prince somehow knew of where she was all these while but I k
Lisa's POVMy disappearing act was the most unplanned and spontaneous decision I'd ever made in my life and now I'd realized that it was a poorly thought-out decision, one that only caused the people I loved more pain than the relief I'd expected it to bring them.As much as it literally blew my mind that I'd finally gotten married to the man I wouldn't have dared to dream of while I was growing up, I couldn't stop myself from feeling like a burden and a magnet of unfortunate events for him.It was bothersome that I could easily trace every misfortune that had befallen him back to myself, it was as though I was a catalyst for his misery over and over. It felt as though trouble trailed dangerously close behind me and affected everyone in my life, most especially Axel.I'd broken his heart and betrayed him, stolen a shipment that he'd worked tirelessly to procure, and made being a hostage a mentally challenging chore for him, and now I'd been oblivious to the fact that I was being used a
AXELSIX MONTHS LATERMy entire life had been turned upside down ever since Lisa disappeared from the hospital, it hurt like hell that the moment I’d gotten her back, I’d lost her without single trace. I’d been wild the day she disappeared, I was fucking angry at everyone and I raided the hospital angrily.I spat threats out and shook the very foundations of the entire hospital because I needed at least a single clue as to how Lisa had disappeared. But no single person had any reasonable information to offer me and my heart had sunk with fear, what if I’d lost her forever?I regretted having gone for the meeting that day and leaving her unattended, the two days when I didn't step out of the hospital she’d been perfectly safe and then the second I left, she was suddenly lost to the fucking wind? I blamed myself and feared what would become of me if I never found her.Every day for the last six months had been a recurring nightmare, I was living in a world where Lisa wasn't by my side an
Axel's POVEverything felt like a blur in the past two days, time seemed to be at a standstill and nothing made sense to me asides from updates on Lisa's fragile and critical health. I'd been seated for hours in the private waiting lodge of the secluded recovery room I paid for to ensure she was being catered to in the best conditions. It felt like no time had passed yet time had dragged aimlessly for the last forty-eight hours, I was always on edge whenever the doctor approached me with news, I didn't know how I'd react if I lost her— I'd lose my damn mind, that's for sure.In over 10 hours, the last news I'd gotten about Lisa was that she was still unconscious and her vitals were unstable. Since then, I'd shuffled between pacing up and down, running my hands through my hair in frustration, feeling like my heart would burst from the scare, and refusing to speak to anyone that dared to tell me I deserved rest— rest? I'll rest when Lisa is awake and stable.Involuntarily my mind drifte
Lisa’s POVMy heart ripped into a million pieces while I watched what had become of the day that I’d love to keep replaying in memory on a loop, my father has turned my wedding day which had just made me shed tears of unimaginable joy into a freaking shit hole.As he called to me with an arm stretched out, I felt a wave of disgust and hatred for him that was impossible to conceal. I was certain that my facial expressions gave away just how much I detested his guts as he stood before me.My heart kept beating uncontrollably and I could barely form the millions of questions that flew threw my mind, I needed to breathe but I didn't care to catch my breath as much as I terribly needed answers to those questions from my father.I couldn't believe the smug and unapologetic look he has on his face, it was as though he didn't care about hurting me as long as she had his way. I finally mustered the courage to speak but I was certain my voice would sound cracked and snotty because of how much I
Axel’s POVA serenading symphony of wedding songs that Lisa and I had chosen was being played on the organ and my heart squeezed in its position in my chest because I knew what the start of the music signaled. It had meant that in no time, Lisa would be walked down the aisle by her father toward me.As I looked down the empty aisle I noticed that Volkov’s men has moved from the positions outside the church and had joined my men indoors. They all seemed to be in sync for some reason, but I couldn't possibly guess with the excitement in my veins, still, I looked over at Prince and nodded toward them so that he’d observe them and u could focus on Lisa, and he’d understood what my gesture meant and nodded back at me sharply.I quickly shifted my mind from worrying about what might be irrelevant and focused on my wedding day again.I became tense yet excited at the prospect of looking at her beautiful face for the last time before she became my wife before this congestion. I stood before t
Axel's POV I was certain that I hadn't stopped smiling while I got dressed for the event of the day, I was thrilled beyond human comprehension. I'd retied my bowtie a couple of times because my mind kept wandering to Lisa like the hopelessly smitten man I was, I could barely focus on myself. I'd decided to wear a dark blue double-breasted suit instead of sticking with the conventional rite of black suits for the groom. I buttoned my jacket and dusted it proudly while I checked myself out in the mirror, Lisa was lucky to be getting married to an absolute snack, I laughed as the silly thought crossed my mind. It hit me again that very moment, I was truly getting married to the woman that made love feel so good I was certain we'd cheated the laws of the universe. I'd never thought I would be so certain that someone was made for me, my soulmate, and my entire world. Just then, a hand landed on my back and rubbed it aggressively and shook me out of the thoughts I'd immersed my mind in.
LISAIf anyone had told me that my love would become an ethereal dream after being a complete nightmare a month ago, I'd have spat bitterly in their face. But yet, here I was, living the life I wouldn't have dared to dream of after all the unfortunate events I'd been through. My nerves could barely contain my excitement and my heart was an endless leap for joy because I was about to get through the day I'd fantasized about a million times over the past month. I was beyond elated and I couldn't hide it, I didn't want to anyways, it could easily pass as the best day of my life.I was getting married to the man of my dreams, the man that surpassed my dreams and made life a living fantasy. It was I and Axel's wedding day, finally! I'd already said I do in my head several times but the thought of saying it as a vow before a church intrigued me greatly."Girllll! I can't fucking believe your luck with love, teach me a thing or two please?" Tana's excited voice broke through my thoughts and
