Chapter 81

THE HOCKEY GAME

I was awoken by the ringing of my phone, I didn't know why but my whole body ached. It must be the stress of seeing Markus's first love again, the fear that filled my body knowing that I could lose him and even myself.

The phone kept ringing and I grudgingly stretched my hand to get it. The screen displayed Hardin. I've been a really bad friend, I've not spoken to him for quite a long time and still, he cared to check up on me.

" Hey Hardin," I said but immediately cleared my throat when I realized my voice was rough.

" Were you sleeping?" He asked and when I turned to the clock I saw that it was almost afternoon. Why did I sleep for so long? Why didn't anybody wake me up?

I rose from the bed with my phone to my ear as I walked towards the bathroom.

" I'm so sorry Hardin, there has been a lot going on in my life and it's all weighing on me," I said to him with a sigh as I opened the bathroom door and got in, as I passed the mirror on the wall I couldn't help but look
