The future Luna Queen

Lona's POV

"Mate!" The man looked straight at me.

Everyone looked at him in surprise, then followed his gaze.

"Mate?" I asked reflexively. "Me?"

I looked at him and then back at me.

I was confused!

Was he looking at me? Was he talking to me?

I was a werewolf but lived in human society. For an ordinary werewolf, “mate” was a very important person but for me, “mate” was just a word that I knew through books and movies.

My parents were classmates, they knew each other and then fell in love like normal people. Uncle David had also loved many people and was still unmarried.

The people around me were not affected by their mate so I always thought that I was just like them.

Before I could wait for him to pay, Anna quickly bowed.

"Your Majesty!"

Seeing me still standing there, doing nothing. Anna quickly pulled my hand.

Startled, I quickly imitated her, bowed my head and said. "Your Majesty!"

I raised my head, unable to believe that the man was Alpha King.

Did I hear it wrong?

I met Alpha King and he even said that I was his mate.

Alpha King approached me and gently helped me up.

"Right!" He said calmly. "You are my mate."

The current situation was not like what I thought it would be.

I felt a little funny. Logically speaking, a mate meant a lot to a werewolf. All werewolves wished to meet their mate and their feelings would change a lot when they met their mate but Alpha King was really calm.

He was much calmer than me.

"Are you sure I'm your mate?" I couldn't hide the embarrassment in my voice.

Everyone's eyes were on me. From the moment the Alpha King looked at me and said that I was his mate, everyone in this room and outside of the room looked at me.

I was still confused and paid no attention to them. Only when I regained my composure did I realize that everyone was looking at me, like I was a special being.

I carefully assessed the man in front of me. He had a dark complexion, blue eyes and a very high nose.

He was really attractive.

I originally thought that Alpha King was a middle-aged man and didn't expect him to be so young. He looked like he was only in his thirties, the most attractive age for a man.

"No one has ever doubted my words." Alpha King spoke softly, but the voice was powerful.

"Tell me your name ?" He whispered.

"Lona!" I lowered my voice.

"Lona." Alpha King repeated in a sweet voice.

"Where are you from?" He continued to ask.

His sudden question confused me a bit. Before coming here, I practiced thoroughly how to introduce myself and the reasons to convince him to accept me to be a werewolf in his packs, but now I didn't know what to say.

One word "Mate" from Alpha King's mouth made me forget all my intentions when coming here and now his question reminded me.

I immediately knelt down in front of the Alpha King.

"Please, Your Majesty, save me!"

My sudden action surprised Alpha King.

"What trouble are you having? Who gave you trouble?" Alpha king once again helped me up. Worry was evident on his face.

"I don't belong to any pack!" I lowered my voice. "I came here because I wanted to ask you to allow me to join the werewolf community."

As soon as I said that, all the werewolves present were surprised, they had a lot of questions to ask me but since Alpha King was still here, no one spoke up.

All were listening and waiting.

"How can a werewolf not live with the pack." Wolves were animals living in groups as everyone knew.

"My ancestors were werewolves of the Crystal Arrow pack." I chose my words carefully, I didn't understand the old truths well anyway.

“What is your family name?” A middle-aged man with a fierce appearance asked. 

“Lopez.” I answered.

"Your ancestors were werewolves who betrayed their wolves and fled to human society." His eyes were very deep with murderous intent.

I was afraid to step back. Alpha King held my hand, not letting me continue to back away.

"Don't scare her." Alpha King was serious. "She is my mate, your future Luna Queen.”

"Luna Queen?" This title really scared me. I just want to be a normal werewolf.

My voice was as low as a breath, but Alpha King could hear it all.

I knew I couldn't go against Alpha King's will but Luna Queen was not a position that anyone could get.

"Your Majesty, she is the descendant of the traitors." The middle-aged man continued to speak, of course his voice was much lower than just now.

I didn't know who he was, but he was right behind the Alpha King. Maybe he was an Alpha.

"She's my mate, your future Luna Queen." Alpha King glanced at the man with a warning look.

That man did not dare to challenge the Alpha King's authority so he could only remain silent.

"Do not worry!" Alpha King held my hand tightly. “I will be your support. You don't have to be afraid of anyone.”

I looked at Alpha King, there were many things in my heart that I wanted to say but I still hesitated. Actually, I was more afraid of him.

"Let's join the party with me!" The sweet Alpha King made an offer.

I was taken by his hand, pulled away in bewilderment. Everything happened so suddenly, I couldn't accept it for the time being.

I resisted the Alpha King's pull, my legs were still in the same place.

Alpha King looked at me, he used his eyes to tell me not to be afraid.

I stood still.

"Go with me." Alpha King grasped my hand tightly.

"Didn't you ask about my background and why I came here?" I looked him in the eye.

"The party's about to start. We'll talk about that later." Alpha King leaned close to my ear.

I followed him but stopped after two steps.

I shook my head, determined. "I don't want to be their Luna Queen, and I won't be their Luna Queen."
