Chapter 3

Author: H. Spoonie
I thought I saw Galeis sigh in relief.

I turned to Leonore. “Shall we?”

As Leonore looked at me, he smiled and nodded.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and had to stand on my tiptoes.

Meanwhile, he leaned down and kissed me deeply while pulling me close by my waist.

Whistles sounded around us as if the people were cheering us on, but after a moment, they suddenly fell silent.

I had no time to figure out why because Leonore did not hold back on the kiss. He chased after my tongue so fiercely that I lost my rationality for a moment.

A minute later, I stepped back from him and saw Galeis’s face darken. It was only then that I understood why the others had fallen silent.

It was hilarious!

Leonore gently wiped away the wetness from the corner of my lips.

“What’s wrong? Wasn’t I supposed to accept my punishment?” I asked in mock confusion.

“You might have lost your memories, but your love for Leonore didn’t fade in the slightest. You kissed him so passionately,” Flora said mockingly.

It only served to make Galeis’s expression darken even more.

I added fuel to the fire. “It must be because my love comes from within my soul itself.”

For some reason, those words made the smile on Leonore’s face freeze.

He excused himself to the washroom but did not return even after a long while. I went out for some fresh air, only to hear voices coming from the stairs.

“Why did you kiss her, Leonore? What you did isn’t gentlemanly at all,” Galeis said icily.

“It’s just a game. She lost her memories. Was she supposed to kiss you while you have Flora as your ‘mate’?” Leonore said with a smile.

Galeis pulled a long face. “Don’t go flirting with Selena. If you can, avoid getting too close to her.”

After the party, I returned to Leonore’s bedroom, and he immediately hugged and kissed me. I was stunned for a second before I moved back to avoid him. “What…?” He raised an eyebrow in amusement. “We already kissed tonight. I was thinking we could take things a step further. Don’t you think we should uphold our responsibilities to each other as mates?” I was stunned yet again. Had he not always hated me? Was he testing me on Galeis’s behalf to see if I had really lost my memories? But what he was doing at the moment was against what he told Galeis tonight. I could not understand him. He cradled my chin and looked into my eyes. “What’s wrong? You don’t want to?” As I stared at him quietly, I lowered my head and pressed a kiss to the finger resting against my chin. That took him by surprise. Then, he picked me up and walked to the bed. That night, my body and memories felt disconnected. I remembered that after the Moon Goddess chose me to be Galeis’s mate, Leonore

  • I'm Told I'm His Brother's Mate   Chapter 5

Leonore told me that he was taking me to a party tonight. I only learned after I got there that it was a birthday party Galeis was throwing for Flora. When we arrived at the lake where the party was held, I saw Galeis and Flora standing at the best spot as they watched a grand show of fireworks. Flora leaned against Galeis and suddenly jumped up to kiss him in delight. She looked very adorable. Galeis smiled at her and affectionately nibbled at her nose. When he turned around, he saw us. The moment he saw me, he stiffened and panicked a little, then he immediately feigned nonchalance. Flora saw us too. “Selena, Mr. Leonore, thank you for coming to my birthday party!” More fireworks lit up the sky above the lake. Galeis was the one who lit them up for Flora. Flora watched them joyfully. The others pointed at the fireworks that filled the sky and marveled at them. I wondered if they would still remember that last year, during my birthday, they were all ther

After Leonore returned, he suddenly hugged me and kissed me. Then, he let go and looked at me closely. “You know what, Selena? You’re the best, and no one can compare to you.” I stared at him in surprise. His words seemed like a response to Galeis’s remarks when he had compared me to Flora. Why was he treating me so gently after I “lost” my memories? As I stared at him, I said, “You’re so kind. I think I’ve fallen in love with you even more than before. What should I do?” He laughed and kissed me passionately. This man seemed really happy that I loved him. I let him do as he pleased, but as I kissed him back, I was deep in thought. I only ever had Galeis as my mate. When the Moon Goddess chose me to be Galeis’s mate, I almost wanted to go against my destiny. I had never seen him or Leonore as suitors, and I could not quite accept the thought of becoming mates with one of my best friends. But Galeis suddenly cast aside all etiquettes of friendship and starte

With Galeis in a tight grip, Leonore dragged him out. I told the witch doctor to treat the other soldiers first, while I quietly sneaked to the tent where the two of them had disappeared and listened. Leonore said mockingly, “What do you intend to say? That you’re her mate? Are you going to tell her that you wanted some excitement on the side and wanted to fool around with her cousin, and that’s why you lied to her that I’m her mate?” He sneered. “Do you have the guts to tell her that?” “You…” Galeis was speechless and did not know how to defend himself. “Besides, everyone who doesn’t know thinks you and Selena have ended your mate bond. That flashy fireworks show you did some time ago has already made everyone think that you’ve found someone new,” Leonore said. Galeis retorted, “I already told Flora right from the beginning that this is just a short-term relationship! You know just how important Selena is to me! No other woman can compare to her! And you know that I let yo

Galeis did not join the subsequent battles and ran off somewhere, but we did not have time to find him. After all, our enemies had come prepared this time. After he left, Leonore and I were the only leaders left in our army. This was also the first time I fought as a pair with Leonore. To my surprise, I found that I worked well with Leonore just as well as I had with Galeis, in his absence. It seemed like Leonore had been observing me closely in the past. When I lifted my hand, he knew that I wanted a bow and arrows. When I turned around, he knew that he was supposed to attack the enemies near me. In just a few days, we killed all our enemies. With flowers and praises from the people, we returned to the palace. As I listened to the gossip from the servants, I learned that Galeis had run home from the battlefield and was offering a high sum to recruit witch doctors who could cure amnesia among werewolves. I ignored it, but to my surprise, when I was out on business one

Flora’s face turned red. Then, she went pale. “You… You’re terrifying!” “Am I? You’re saying that the man who pushed his own mate to another man is not terrifying, but I am? You’re saying that the man who cheated on his own mate with her cousin is not scary, but I am?” I stared at her with a smile. “Flora, you should consider yourself fortunate that I only want one of them. I do not intend to fight with you over Galeis. “Galeis is unworthy in my eyes. If you want him, then you can keep a tight leash on him. I won’t ruin your relationship with him. Don’t worry.” I did not even bother to wait for her reaction after that. I hurried to the council hall, where I had agreed to meet with Leonore. Before I went in, I saw him exiting the hall. I asked, “Has the problem been solved? I’m sorry. I was held back by something.” “It’s done. Don’t worry about it. What kept you back for so long, though? I was getting worried and was going to come looking for you,” he said gently as he pu

Leonore’s every word carried a hidden meaning, and each sentence was a warning. He was warning Galeis that if I knew he had pushed me toward someone else just because I lost my memory, I would only end up hating him. With a stormy face, Galeis glared at Leonore. “I’m willing to accept the consequences of her finding out the truth. No matter what, it’ll be better than her not loving me or ignoring me this way. I have to let Selena know the truth and let her make her own choice!” Panic flashed on Leonore’s face. After all, I had once loved Galeis dearly. In their minds, if I regained my memory, whether I hated Galeis or still loved him, the only thing they could be sure of was that I would not love Leonore anymore. “Why are you so stubborn? Didn’t you know what the consequences would be when you slept with another woman?!” Leonore shouted. “Shut up!” Leonore shot me a panicked look. “Once this is over, we’ll talk about it, Selena. No matter what he says, ignore him.

The three of us arrived at the racecourse and saw the witch doctor Galeis had hired. The witch doctor first checked the head wound that had brought about my three-day coma before he prescribed me a strange potion. He said, “Drink it, and you will recover your memories.” I took it and saw the excited and eager look on Galeis’s face. Meanwhile, Leonore was filled with despair, panic, and fear. I lifted my hand up and threw the potion on the ground. The witch doctor was stunned. So were Galeis and Leonore. I turned to Galeis and glared at him. “I already made my decision a long time ago, Galeis.” “Selena?” He looked at me in confusion and fear. “I never lost my memories.” Those words were like a battering ram that struck their hearts. Leonore’s fear turned to surprise, then to excitement. As for Galeis, his confusion turned to fear that spread to every fiber of his being. The witch doctor stepped away. I turned to Galeis. “I never lost my memories in the

Leonore just laughed and held onto my leg even tighter. He knew that the slap meant that I still acknowledged his status as my mate. I had only just made this decision when he agreed to bring me here. “Move.” I nudged him to make him step back. Leonore nodded and hurriedly backed down. He knew that he was safe in this fight for my love. Galeis watched the interaction between me and Leonore and collapsed in despair and trepidation. “I’m sorry, Selena!” He still tried to fight for our relationship one last time. “I’m truly sorry. I regret what I did. Can’t you forgive me just this once? Please, Selena! I know that you love me. You loved me so much before, so can’t you forgive me this once? “I won’t make such a mistake again and will let you hit me and yell at me however you like…” “Galeis,” I said coldly, “When you told me you were only my comrade and told me to return with Leonore, I stopped loving you. “I just went along with it to make you taste the consequences
