Chapter 88

As Azeph lay on the bed, sleep eluded him. He couldn’t sleep and his shoulder’s pain wasn’t the reason. No, he could barely register the pain; his mind was reeling from what Noah had told him.

The image of Elinor walking into the flames kept repeating in his mind along with the last glimpse he had gotten of her beautiful face back when she came by to visit him.

She probably had no idea how happy he was when woke up to the sound of her voice.

When he fell in the lake he had seen her face kast before closing his eyes. Then as if a surge of willpower came over him he swam out pulling his legs one after another as he headed toward the apartment.

As he tried to bandage his shoulder he lost consciousness fever overtaking him. In his delirious state, all he could think about, dream about, was her face as she hovered over him her beautiful locks fanning over them like curtains and her porcelain skin glowing under the moonlight.
