Logan’s P.O.V.
I forced myself to get on the stage and face the Crescent pack, ignoring the tempting smell that drove me crazy. Damien laid a hand on my arm, and I could feel his calmer energy washing over me. He had noticed the scent too, and how it had shaken me.I shot him a grim smile, absorbing his serenity.Damien had been my beta for years, so much so that he’d become the brother I never knew I needed. Like all Betas, he was calm and thoughtful, and I was a much better person when he was around me.Slightly appalled at my passion for the scent, I sucked in a deep breath and turned to the crowd, speaking into the microphone."For decades, wolves have been slain from my pack and yours, our blood desecrating the territories." I begin. "We've lost great men, fathers, brothers, uncles, and sons all because of the greed of the former pack leaders."A few nods of approval and choruses echoed in the halls."But as a new moon rises, the sorrows and darkness of the past are washed away!"“Tonight marks the end of all the wars between the Crescent pack and my pack....”Applause and hoots filled the air, but I ignored them, throwing the microphone on the floor. All eyes were on me as I concluded my words and climbed down from the podium. As I tracked Jake down, Damien followed me closely, with Mousy Girl behind him. I needed to know who gave off the pheromones that were so aggressive it made me lose my grip on my senses. My wolf was restless, and I had an unshakeable hunch that the scent was my mate’s. Why else would it affect me so damn much?I spotted him at the edge of the hall, kissing his Luna like there was no tomorrow.Biting back the revulsion in my guts, I coughed, and they jumped apart, their shame filling the air.“Thank you so much for your attendance and agreement to the treaty.” Jake reached out his hands to me, and I snubbed it, keeping my face blank.“I want you to gather all Omegas in your pack right now.” My voice left no room for argument as I used my Alpha dominance on his weak and younger wolf. His mind writhed against my dominance, his wolf fighting to assert its place as Alpha. A sneer twisted my lips as I felt his resistance fading before his wolf whimpered and finally caved.“Why?” he muttered, his voice almost wobbly.Damien cut it, flashing him a friendly grin. "My Alpha's curious about how many Omegas you've got in your pack. We could use some more of them around here. Our pack members are mostly Alphas, you see."Bowing slightly, he nodded. “Of course, Alpha Logan. It’s the least I can do to signify the start of our friendship.”Curtly nodding at Damien, I watched Jake clear out the hall and line up the omegas neatly.Soon, all the Omegas were in place, and Jake stepped aside with his Luna, leaving me in charge.I briefly glanced at his Luna and scowled. If anything, she was plain with a long hooked nose. Her red hair was too bright, and her frame was rather manly in her ugly green dress. However, she stood out from the other she-wolves, who mostly had black or blonde hair.Shaking off the thoughts, I focused on the task and walked to the back of the line.I almost choked on my breath at the pheromone oozing off the first omega at the back. It was horrid, disgusting and clearly marked her status as a lowly servant.A scent on the second row stopped me, and I slowly approached the auburn-haired girl. She was a pretty little thing, and her pheromone was eerily similar to the scent driving me out of my mind. I pressed my nose to her hair, sucked in her scent, and finally found what set her apart. Vanilla and cauliflower, fear.No. It’s not her. Ripe peaches. Sultry. Sad.By the time I made my way through the lines of omegas, the wine I drank earlier was brimming in my lungs, threatening to erupt from my lips.My stomach churned as nausea swept through me, and I could feel my wolf amassing dark and negative energy in my psyche. What the fuck is going on? Where did that scent go? I suddenly felt cheated, and outrage lanced through me.Storming over to where Jake stood, I growled, wrapping a hand around his throat, squeezing tight enough to cut his airflow.“Where is she?” I roared, and I could feel the ground quaking beneath my feet.Damien’s voice reached my ear, and I distantly heard him begging me to calm down and not kill the new Alpha of the Crescent pack and start the war again.Gritting my teeth, I finally released his neck, and he dropped to the floor, clutching his throat. Such a fucking pathetic excuse for an Alpha. He clearly had no military training at all. Alpha Tate must have spoilt his little brat. Fucking sad; he was leaving his pack to the mercy of his weakling of a son. I swallowed the anger boiling in my lungs, shrugging off Damien’s hands as I glared at the warriors of the Crescent pack who had me surrounded. Damien could sense that the situation was getting out of hand, so he mind-linked me. “Alpha, please let me handle this.” “Fine.” I bit back, pressing my shirt sleeves to my nose to block out the awful scents. Facing Jake, who was red in the face, Damien asked patiently. “Are all the female omegas here?” I narrowed my eyes at his hesitation before he muttered. “Yes.” He was lying. Just as I moved towards him, his Luna quickly spoke up, looking me in the eyes. “There’s one more Omega left. Her name is Aimee, and I think I saw her leave earlier.” The bitter and heated look in Jake’s eyes told me he was never going to tell me. “That's it! I want her here. Now!” I snapped, ignoring their pathetic attempt to fool me. “You have just an hour. Tick Tock.”Aimee’s P.O.V Sounds of waves lapping against rocks reached my ears, followed by the fresh scent of the stream. When I finally burst out through the dense woods, a weak smile pulled at my lips as I saw the sparkling water. It was just as magical as the first time I’d laid my eyes on it. Sparkling and shimmering, I could almost convince my young mind that fairies came out here at night and this was their spot. Who knew? I could be right. ‘I should take a swim,’ I thought, grabbing the hem of my dress. ‘It might help take my mind away from…’ Oh, Jake. His name stabbed my heart like a knife, and I doubled over, choking on my tears. Oh, It hurt so much. The nature around me had blocked him out of my mind, but now all I could hear were his words on the stage and how Jessica was wrapped around him like a leech, kissing what belonged to me. Then he’d slapped me. Why? No, I couldn't swim. Tears flowed down my cheeks as I settled on my favorite spot, gathering stones to toss into th
Aimee’s P.O.V My fingers dug into the edge of my seat to hold on for dear life as the vehicle bounced over rocks and potholes. I should have known that the journey would be rough when Alpha Logan pulled his limo to a stop in Sacramento Hills, exchanging the luxurious limo for jagged trucks. But I was too busy avoiding him to pay any more attention. Although, I think my disgusted expression worked out for the best as he'd refused to stay in the same truck with me. "Get into that truck with Ella." He growled at his Beta whilst glaring at me. "Aimee will ride in the other truck with the Jackson brothers." A snort rose to my lips as I recalled his words. Who the hell did he think he was? Did he think I'd be intimidated by two strange burly men who barely spoke to me? Good riddance. I huffed under my breath. As the sun dipped and long shadows emerged over the hills, dust poured in through the windows; filling the car with a choking haze. My throat burned and I began coughing. I pull
Aimee’s P.O.V I had never been this scared in my life. So scared that my heart was pounding so loudly I swear it echoed through the still forest. So scared that Ella’s hands were bruised from how hard I was clutching them as we ran, dodging over branches and roots. Our breaths were ragged, and our legs were sore, but we didn’t dare stop. We both knew Alpha Logan wouldn’t easily give up on finding us. Last night when we tried camping under the stars, we didn’t get up to thirty minutes of shuteye before his scent permeated the air, alerting me to his closeness, and we picked up running again. I glanced at Ella, who was trudging beside me, and flinched. Her eyes were sunken and red-rimmed, but that wasn’t what scared me. It was the emptiness in their depths that terrified me. Ella was in shock from everything that had happened, and no matter how many roast squirrels I tried to feed her, she didn’t open her mouth. Sensing my gaze, she lifted her head, and I pulled my lips in a small sm
Aimee's P.O.VIn panic, I turned my head to look at her, only to find her totally asleep. Lifting her into my arms, a chuckle slipped out of me. “I found us a shelter, Ella. You’re going to be safe!” Quickening my pace, I reached the cavern in mere seconds. Gently, I dropped her by the entrance and checked inside. Thankfully, it was empty and spacious enough for us. From the moth-eaten blankets and pots, I could tell someone had once lived here. “Perfect,” I murmured under my breath and went back outside. I carried Ella back into the cavern and she almost fell from my arms. “I’m so tired.” She murmured sleepily, her eyes shut tightly. She was so fragile, like a porcelain doll that could break at any moment. “I know, Ella,” I said into her ears. “Me too.” Rising to my feet, I grabbed a few empty bottles from the corner of the room. “Just hang on while I go fetch some wood for a fire. I’ll also wander a bit to see if I could find a stream or something to get water.” She only murm
Logan’s P.O.V I looked at the girl before me. She wasn’t crying or screaming, but I could tell she was out of her mind with terror. “Leave us,” I said to Damien without looking at him, and he quickly sprung to action, leading Ella and the other men out of the Cavern. “You ran away,” I said once the space was empty. I held her chin up, forcing her to look me in the eyes. “Now, good girls don’t run away, do they?” “I…I don’t know.” She choked. “You don’t know?” I smirked. “Well, you are about to find out.” “Okay,” she whispered and looked away. What? This wasn’t how I’d imagined her reaction. She was very calm. Did she not understand the gravity of her situation? Ah, she must be in shock. Shocked by the betrayal of her new acquaintance. I was surprised at my inclination to tell her not to hate Ella, that it wasn’t entirely her fault. That I was the one who threatened to kill Ella and send her butchered head as a gift to her pack if she doesn't comply with me. The poor thing was s
Aimee’s P.O.V The next morning~~ Everyone was right. The rumors were true. Alpha Logan was a psychopath, and unfortunately, I was the latest addition to his harem. He had kidnapped me, humiliated me, and now he wanted me to bear his child or stay with him forever. I felt like a caged animal, left with no choice but to sign the damn contract. But one thing was clear in my heart. He could be a monster and imprison me, but I would never love or submit to him. Clenching my jaw, I stared out the window, ignoring the pain in my wrist and the contract in my lap. Because of him, my neck still throbbed from where he had choked me. I wished I could rub the purple marks on my neck, but the handcuffs prevented me from moving my arms. I could still feel the imprint of his fingers on my skin, burning like a brand. My eyes drifted close as humiliation fired through me. How could I have reacted so shamelessly when Alpha Logan degraded me? The wetness between my thighs was physical proof of my sha
Aimee’s P.O.V Strong arms reached out to break my fall and I blushed a bright crimson when my lips grazed his as I looked up. Fuck, Kira was right. He’s so handsome. Wait what was I thinking? I shook my head to snap out of it. “Put me down, Alpha Logan.” My voice came out harder than I intended. “Oh.” A wicked smirk pulled at his lips and suddenly, my back slammed on the floor. “Ow!” I groaned as pain shot through me. He actually dropped me. What an asshole. Scowling at him, I picked myself up, rubbing at my lower back. “Stupid ass.” He arched a brow. “What was that?” “Nothing.” I bit out, looking away from him. My breath caught in my throat as I realized we had gotten to his mansion. That was why I bumped into his back. Bloody hell, it was stunning. With cream marble columns and red velvet curtains, it was nothing like Alpha Tate’s mansion back at crescent Pack. “Close your mouth or you might catch flies.” Logan’s breath brushed my ears and I jumped. My cheeks heated as I r
Logan’s P.O.VAgony. Darkness. Fucking intense. It hurts so fucking bad.My small yet callused hands shook badly as I wrapped them around the silvery bars, gritting my teeth as agony shot through me. “Let me out!” “Let me out!”Stop yelling. Kevin-my wolf- said weakly. I don’t have any energy left. So fucking hungry.I ignored him and rattled the cage with force ripped from the depth of my soul. “Let me out!”“Dear child.” Her voice broke into my screams and I went rigid, hating myself for the hopes in my heart.I watched with anticipation as her feet came into view before she lowered herself to the level that matched my cage. “Please…” Despite myself, I begged, making my eyes go round like a puppy’s. No one could resist a child’s pleas…right? My heart thumped painfully as she kept staring at me until…Her hands reached through the bars and cupped my face, stroking softly over my dirtied face. “Hmm…But you forget an important detail. You can’t fool me with that sweet gaze. I know the
