Hey Angel – One Direction

Tension. I’ve never been one for the tension, not that anyone actually was. But well, I was most definitely not. After having the most awkward car ride in the whole world, Angeles had dragged me upstairs to the apartment and most effectively causing me to feel too awkward for life.

Just as we got to the door he pushed me against the door, smirking at me.

“You ready?” he grinned, those eyes glinting.

“For what?” I said, trying not to squirm. Or give into the weird nice tingly feeling coursing through me.

“Revenge my sweet little angel” he said, his hand moving down my body and moving to behind my bum.

“Don’t you dare” I growled, effectively getting a pinch on the bum.

“Can you stop doing that!? Like seriously, it’s not nice” I growled, pushing him off of me. He shot me a glare, his tongue playing with his lip ring and making a shiver run down my spine.

“That’s not what you used to say?” he smiled, his hand cupping my bum once more. I squirmed away, my hand fumbling with a door knob. I finally got the thing to open, stumbling inside and almost falling on my ass. That thing doesn’t need any more attention to be honest.

Angeles smirked over at me, trying to stifle a chuckle.

“Shut up” I snapped, spinning around. I stomped across the room, planning to go to my own bedroom and just stay there until the monstrosity left.

But just as I got to the door, Angeles called out – letting my blood turn to ice.

“Serena – I’m back! Your roommate let me in” he called out. I shot him a glare, him just giving me a wink as Serena’s door opened. She grinned at me before focusing her attention on the jackass behind me.

“Hey you” she smirked, moving towards him. She had dressed up for him. That was obvious with the way her makeup looked perfect and her dress showed off everything without being too obvious. She gave him a kiss on the cheek, his arm lacing around her torso. He was doing this on purpose, he had to be.

I started to move back to my room again but luck was never on my side, “Want to go get breakfast with us?” Serena smiled.

I spun around, “No it’s fine” I shrugged but Angeles spoke up, “Come on Jenny, I want to get to know you better. You are Serena’s best friend aren’t you?”

“I really don’t want to be a third wheel” I tried, putting a strand of hair behind my ear.

“I can invite one of my friends” Angeles grinned, getting out his phone, “You are going to love Jackson” My eyes widened, my opinion about the whole situation making my blood boil. Jackson and I were the opposite of fond to each other. He found me a goody-two-shoes who was going to mess with her boss’ head. I saw him as the jerk who kept Angeles away from me all those months.

Who knew he actually did me a favour?

Pretty Little Girl – Blink 182

In the beginning of our relationship, I was kind of held in the dark about the whole gang situation. But then, then that night happened. Angeles had been ‘avoiding’ me for a few weeks and well, it had started to piss me off. I was stuck sitting at home, trying to avoid my mother’s constant nagging about my ‘bad-news-boyfriend’. And then my phone went off.

I had messaged Angeles a few hours ago, my desperation to see him having made me sound needy. My messaged had gone along the lines of “I miss you baby, please, please, please can we go out? We can go watch that action movie. You love that movie” and like seven other messages.

Yet, when my overeager eyes saw the message, the anger boiled over.

DUNCAN, MEET AT LOCATION. WE’RE SETTLING THIS SHIT

I don’t know who the hell Duncan was, but I wasn’t him. Most definitely wasn’t. Underneath the message came the location, and my idiotic brain immediately formed an idea. If this asshole was just going to ignore me, he was going to suffer for it.

I got up from the couch, excusing myself before rushing up the stairs to my bedroom. My room was too big yet, I sometimes thought it was too small. The walls were white, little roses painted all over. My bed was on a platform and could probably fit in an army. I even had a fireplace. I had everything.

Everything except my jackass boyfriend and a brain. Rummaging through my closet I threw on the black dress I knew he loved along with some high heeled boots. The black dress always made Angeles come to me like a little puppy. It was tight, short and showed off everything that needed to be shown off. Katelyn had bought it for me. I threw on some makeup and then a jacket so that my parents would let me out of the house.

“I’m going to Kat’s!” I yelled as I left the house, grabbing my keys along the way. My parents were the most naïve people in the world. Like honestly, the amount of times I actually went to Katelyn when I said I was, was way too little.

I climbed into my dad’s car, ignoring the fact that I was probably going to a place where the newest model of an Aston martin. Angeles had taught me how to be a reckless driver. Maybe I’ve always been one but well, he brought it out on me. But as I drove to the location that even scared the GPS, the recklessness only increased. I made it there in 20 minutes flat, where the stupid device told me it would take thirty five. I scampered out of the car, ignoring the catcalls and eyes scanning me up and down I headed into the dirtiest scariest place I’ve ever been. It was dark and the air was hazy from all the smoke. Yet, the anger was boiling as my eyes fell on the various girls in underwear waltzing around. The jackass was in a bloody strip club. My eyes scanned over the various bodies, disgust filling my insides.

But then I saw something that made me want to puke. I could recognise the mop of dark hair from anywhere. And right above the mop of hair was the blinking sign that read: PRIVATE ROOMS. And even I knew what those stupid words meant. Letting out a low growl I stormed towards him, fuelled by the idea that I could slap him really, really hard.

Yet, that never got to happen. Before I could even enter the damn rooms, a thick hand wrapped around my arm and I was yanked back.

I had planned for it to be some jackass who thought I was a stripper but the way the guy looked at me, scared the hell out of me. His eyes were icy, teeth gritted and his hand wrapped in a fist.

“We don’t need one” he growled, “Especially an ugly one like you” he said, eyeing me up and down.

“Excuse me?” I gaped at him. The audacity. The simple need-a-slap audacity.

“You heard me – didn’t your boss tell you we don’t need you” he growled, his grip tightening on my arm.

“I’m not a stripper” I snapped, trying to push him away.

The guy’s eyebrows furrowed and then he said something that brought my hand to his cheek, “Are you one of Duncan’s whores?” My hand stung as I took it away, my eyes widening as the man’s anger increased.

“You should not have done that” he growled and then we started moving. I stumbled into the secret place, the man throwing a door open and pushing me inside. My eyes fell on the room. There were six men, all of them burley and scary. And all of them with at least two guns.

“Brought you one of your companions” the man said, pushing me towards a bald man. I stumbled onto the ground, snapping my head back to the man but before I could say anything, I heard a door slam open. Everyone turned towards the person who came through it.

“What the damn hell is going on here?” Angeles snapped, him looking over at me.

“One of Duncan’s trying to create trouble” rude-man said simply.

“She’s not one of Duncan’s” Angeles said and walked towards me. He pulled me up from the ground, leaning in so that he could whisper something.

“We’ll talk after this. Go home” he hissed and then glanced over to the mean one, “Jackson, please escort the girl out”

The man nodded, moving towards me. He wrapped his hand around my arm, me pretty sure about a bruise forming.

“And be careful” Angeles said as I was dragged out.

I had somehow gotten Angel to sit next to me, and o goodness, it felt amazing to be in her presence again. Just her arm brushing against mine sent sparks shooting into my heart. I had never been more thankful for small booths in my whole life. Across from me was Serena, her hand fiddling with my free one. My other hand however, was relaxing comfortably on my ex’s leg.

When I had first done it, she had nearly shot up from the seat but then relaxed, knowing that I could probably do a lot worse. Well, I still could. Her friend and she was busy talking when I decided to make the move. My hand tightened around her thigh and I watched her eyes widening, her sentence dying out.

“You okay Jen?” Serena asked, her perfectly lined eyebrows furrowing.

‘Yeah fine” she squeaked, a sly smile playing on my face as I made my next move. I moved my hand upper, watching her cheeks heating up. Her hand flew down, grabbing hold of mine to stop me.

“You sure?”

She nodded, wrapping her hand over mine and slowly pulling it back down her leg.

“Yeah sorry, I’m fine” she smiled, “But am starving” Her hand unlatched from mine, she grabbing hold of the menu and placing it in front of her. Serena smiled lightly at her before her eyes fell on mine, “What are you getting?”

“Don’t really know yet” I said, my hand starting to move back up Angel’s leg. Her hand flew back down to mine, but this time I pushed it away, moving my hand only upper. I leaned into her, watching as her friend focused on the menu.

“Let this happen” I whispered before leaning away again, turning my attention to Serena, “Have you decided yet?”

“I’m thinking of getting the fruit salad, and you?”

“Feel like farm breakfast” I smirked, “What you think of getting?” I asked, turning towards Angel.

“O the thing she always gets, blueberry pancakes with chocolate sauce” Serena grinned. I nodded, regret creeping in. Angel loved pancakes. In every form and flavour. And well, she could literally drink chocolate sauce. I had always tried to make her pancakes but well, I was a waste in the kitchen. My plan was to one day actually make her proper pancakes. Make her everything she loved.

Make sure she actually loved me too. And I really thought she did. But then she went and did… did everything to prove the complete opposite. I was planning to start a future with the girl. Crazy as it seemed, I had planned this stupid ten year plan with her. Started to strike deals with people. Planned to go somewhere else, marry the crazy girl, get kids, and get a dog. Maybe a cat, dependant on Angel’s preferences. Simply put, the future was set.

And then I woke up with her not next to me.

My hand gripped her thigh, I watching her cheeks catch fire. Forming small circles on the inside of her knee I found glee in seeing her reaction. She chewed on her lip, her eyes widened and her cheeks the colour of tomatoes. Adorable.

“Where is this waiter?” her friend asked, looking around, “I’ll be right back” she said, moving off of the booth. She walked off and the minute she disappeared around the corner, Angel’s head whipped towards me.

“What the hell is wrong with you!?” she hissed, grabbing hold of my hand and throwing it off of her, “Don’t touch me! Stay the hell away from me and my life, got that?”

“You really want that?” I said, leaning in to her. She chewed on her lip, her breathing coming out shaky.

“Ye-yes” she whispered, my hand slowly moving to her jaw and skimming the soft skin.

“Don’t seem like it” I smirked, “I’d say you would enjoy me being around you” My eyes fell onto her lips. Those plump, beautiful, soft creations.

“Don’t even think about it” she said and then, disappeared from my view. I watched her walk off, meeting her friend along the way. They shared a quick conversation before she sauntered off, not even looking back.

Serena walked towards me, giving me a light smile, “She’s not feeling too well, sorry. Poor girl has never been one for hangovers” She came to sit across from me again, grabbing hold of my hand. Did I feel guilty about using her? Well, I wasn’t a monster. I never liked using girls, using people. But doing what I did, using people came with the territory. Yet, I always tried my best not doing stuff like that.

Up until little miss angel walked out of my life. From then on, I had made my way in getting everyone to do anything for me. All to just get those blue eyes to stare at me in the way that they used to.

“You okay? I mean, we don’t have to do this, you know? It can actually just be a one night stand”

“No, no – it’s nothing. Also don’t do too well with the hangovers” I smiled, “Did you get hold of the waiter?”

“I ordered for us, got some coffee, hope that’s all right” she smiled.

“It’s perfect”

Once the jackass Jackson shoved me outside, I was about ready to kill him and his friend.

“Don’t let me see you around again” the man threatened, earning a glare from me.

“Listen here you piece of shit, you can’t just-“ a beeping started and the man held up his hand, getting out his phone. He groaned, glaring at me this time.

“Angeles said you should wait here, he’s taking you home” he growled, my eyes widening. Jackson put his phone away, folding his arms.

“How the bloody hell does someone like you know him?”

“None of your business” I snapped, “And tell Angeles, I don’t want anything to do with him right about now. I can take care of myself” I looked away from the man, not wanting him to see the way my chin quavered. Betrayal. That’s all I felt at the moment and I really just wanted to go cry and punch my pillow until feathers busted out of it.

“Sure you can” my head moved back to the direction of the man, next to him the one who had spoken. He was smirking, annoying piece of shit.

I shot him a glare before my legs moved, strutting towards the car. Yet, I didn’t make it far before his hand wrapped around my wrist and I was yanked onto his chest.

“Where do you think you’re going?” he whispered, his breath tickling my ear.

“Let go of me” I snapped, shoving him away from me. He pulled me back in an instant, spinning me around so I was facing him. He was trying to control his anger at that moment and it was obvious with the way his jaw was set.

“What were you doing here Angel?” he asked, his hands attaching to my hips. I squirmed, trying to get the butterflies to die inside of my stomach.

“I wanted to see you” I said through gritted teeth, “But obviously you enjoy seeing other girls dancing naked for you”

“No I don’t” he said, the lie sounding so clear that I might have confused it for the truth.

“Don’t lie to me Angeles” I said, wrapping my hands around his wrist and shoving him away from me, “I was just in there. Got called one. I saw you there, don’t lie”

“You might have seen me in there but it wasn’t to see the girls. You’re the only girl I look at” he said, his face reddening with embarrassment. He wasn’t good at admitting how he felt and it took a lot of guts to come up with that lie, “You’re my angel. Why would I need to look at average boring girls when I have you? I was in there for business purposes”

“Business purposes!? O come on Angeles, I’m not an idiot” I scoffed, folding my arms.

“Yes business purposes. Conducting deals for… my own business”

“You keep speaking about this stupid flipping business yet all I see is you running away from cops and shooting people”

“You are too innocent for your own good Angel” the man sighed, “Come on” he grumbled, moving towards my car.

“I’m not going anywhere with you” I started but the way he looked at me made me gulp. That was a no-nonsense gaze. My bravado faltered as he opened the door for me, pointing to the seat.

“I don’t want to go anywhere with you Angeles, can you just leave me alone?”

“I thought you wanted to see me” he smirked, making me shoot him a glare.

“Wanted to – past tense” I grumbled.

“Angel – I honestly didn’t watch those girls. It was for business. Just for business”

“What business?” I snapped, raising my eyebrows.

The man immediately fumbled, chewing on his lip. He scratched the back of his head before pinching his nose. Anything to avoid the question I was posing. I rolled my eyes, making the move to walk to the other side of my car. I was already inside when Angeles finally decided to speak up.

“Move over to the other side”

“No”

“Angel – stop being difficult” he snapped, “You want to know what business- I’m going to show you what business”
