Cap. 66 – Let's Go Home

“Well, from what I heard, they already got in and are just waiting for us to step out so they can start shooting,” Madock commented, grabbing the machine gun.

“And we only have one machine gun and a pistol,” Braston observed, frowning.

“True, but there are a lot of them. Do they really want to die like this?” Madock said, remaining calm. Their indifference to danger left Molly and Lisaura speechless. Both were trembling, their legs barely able to hold their weight, but the nauseating smell of that room made their fear seem smaller.

“Braston, do we really have to kill so many men?” Lisaura asked apprehensively.

“Well, actually, no. After all, I only need to go after one person,” Braston commented, casting a long glance at Molly, who was trying to hide her clothes under a coat. That made him suspicious. “Molly, what are you wearing? How did you get in here?” he asked, now focusing on her.

Madock averted his gaze, while Lisaura, nervous, wanted to flee but knew sh

She had a mild hemorrhage, but since she’s been recovering for two days, it wasn’t too bad,” Nate commented, assessing the situation.“So she’ll be okay? No lasting problems?” Braston asked, worried.“Yes, Molly is fine now and will recover quickly. Besides, she’s healthy. There were no major complications other than the loss of her baby, unfortunately. But you two can plan for another in the future,” Nate replied calmly.“Yes, everything is fine,” Braston said, walking Nate to the door and closing it behind him. He returned to Molly, who was lying on the bed, and wrapped her in his arms, holding her close.“You’re okay, right?” he asked in a low, uncertain voice.“I am. It’s just… I have to deal with everything that happened now,” Molly admitted, tears beginning to fall.“It’s hard…” Braston murmured, his voice trailing off as he remembered how excited he had been abo

My family isn’t safe because I went easy on a relative. Does your father have so much control over you that you’ll keep alive the man who wants your woman? Lisaura, on the other hand, stealthily slipped out of the kitchen, afraid one of those objects might get thrown. Mustafá, worried, stood in front of Lisaura, protecting her in case Braston lost his temper.“Hey, why are you leaving?” Braston asked seriously, making Mustafá and Lisaura freeze. “Stay home and take care of... help Mama Lizi. I’m taking my woman on a special outing today. You can stay in any of the rooms, but keep your immoralities far from my private room and the room where I sleep with Molly.” He instructed without looking at anyone while grabbing some fruit from the fridge.“Aren’t you going to answer me? So, are you going camping or something?” Liziane asked again, her tone dripping with sarcasm.“No wonder

Braston tried to shield her as best he could, but it seemed that not even the thick fabric was enough to ward off the biting cold that cut through the cave. He pressed his lips together, trying to ignore the numbness creeping into his own limbs. That’s when he heard it. A low, subtle howl echoed through the forest. It wasn’t far. Braston immediately became alert, but a small smile formed on his lips when he recognized the sound.“Come here,” he whispered, whistling softly. It didn’t take long before a figure emerged from the darkness. A creature with fur as white as snow stepped silently out of the shadows, approaching the entrance of the cave. Molly, still deeply asleep, didn’t notice when the large wolf lay down near her legs.Braston reached out and stroked the animal with familiarity, his fingers gliding through its soft fur.“Good boy.

Chapter 73 - Because Not Everything is RosesIt had been a week. A long week since Molly had been confined to the room. The pain in her foot, caused by the poison, had already disappeared, but now something else was eating away at her boredom. She couldn't believe that Braston had actually locked her up as punishment. For someone like her, full of energy and a free spirit, it was torture. That morning, Braston had already been out of the room for over an hour, and the silence was deafening. He hadn’t even left the baby with her. The loneliness was suffocating, and that’s when Molly had a daring idea."What if I escaped?"Remembering the room next door and the window that was probably open, Molly put her plan into action. Carefully, she moved along the edges of the room and managed to slip into the adjacent one. From there, she climbed down unnoticed and went straight to the garden. The fresh air and morning sun were an immense relief far better than the limited air from her window or

"I don't want to be alone anymore..." she murmured in a downcast tone, hiding her face in his chest. "Alright, come with me, okay?" he relented, getting up from the bed and helping her do the same. They quickly got dressed. Molly, ignoring Braston’s silent disapproval of her choice, grabbed one of his long-sleeve shirts, which was too big for her, and paired it with some short shorts. When they stepped out, they found Mustafá waiting outside. "We’ve scheduled the flight for two days from now, as you asked," Mustafá reported directly. "Good." "What do you mean?" Molly asked, surprised, as they walked through the luxurious boutique, a truly charming place."Yes, when I arrived here, I couldn’t handle people, not even those I liked, except you. When I met you, I think it was because you were the most innocent and pure thing my hands had ever touched," Braston said nostalgically. "But Chief Pierre taught me how to look at people and imagine what scent would be perfect for them, and then refine it. You were my peach, but it’s been a while since you entered my life, and everything has taken on a different scent. You changed everything. I’m happy to be by your side," he confessed, looking around. Besides, it's been a long time since you visited your mother's grave, right?" she replied, her tone apprehensive.Matheus had only visited that place once after becoming an adult. His last memory of being there was when he was nine. Now, being back made his heart tighten. Life seemed so unfair, and all of this because of the greed of a cruel man."To think my mother was his woman... And that, in the end, he traded her, reduced her to a mistress. I always judged her, thought she was greedy for wanting a rich man. I remember well... One time, I even yelled at her, just days before she was murdered," he said, his voice choking, as his knees touched the snow-covered ground in front of his mother’s grave.

Cap.90: Beware of him, not me.Cassius hadn't realized that he had held Laysa in his arms the entire night. She had completely passed out, and both of them were drunk. In the morning, no one remembered anything. Cassius was the first to wake up and, to his surprise, found Laysa’s arms wrapped around him, resting peacefully on his chest. For a moment, a faint smile appeared on his face as he gazed at her serene, smiling expression. However, as his eyes traveled down her body, he noticed her shirt was lifted, revealing part of her backside. His conscience weighed heavily on him, and his expression shifted to concern. Discreetly, he pulled her shirt down to cover her better. He sighed in relief when he saw that she was still wearing her underwear. "Thank God nothing happened," he thought. Then, he checked his own clothes and felt even more relieved to see he still had his pants on."Supposedly, she doesn't remember sleeping on top of me. If I move her slowly, she won't notice. He was close to his limit, thinking about ending the party with gunfire, but he suppressed the urge with alcohol even though he was responsible for taking the group home.Laysa remained near Francine but didn’t blend in. The poor thing only watched Cassius from afar. After three failed attempts to approach him, she drowned her shame in mixed drinks, even after so many rejections.“Lay, stop staring at that brute! Look at how many hot, handsome guys are around!” Francine shouted, trying to compete with the loud music as she pulled her friend to dance. But Laysa had no enthusiasm for anything.“You don’t understand… I love him… I’m crazy about him!” she confessed, her voice thick with alcohol and emotion.“Look, girl, I’ll be honest,” Francine said, already slurring.
